Listen, I liked Conway more than most!

He is an ex international who has played at a far higher level than Conway. Unless he is a mute, he surely brings more to the table. As for playing wise. Chalk and cheese. Conway played a handful of games last season. Downing started over 30 for a team who almost made the play offs.

They have been floating around the play offs prior to the last season, we were in league 1. We still have a bit of a stigma for being a basket case. It's disappearing thanks to Mowbray though I reckon it could be that he was told he will play there, Whereas Honest Tony said he would have to fight for his place.

Hanley on loan would be good. A top championship centre half who knows the club. Would leave us funds for other positions. Him, Downing and Morrison would be a great start imo. Bags of championship experience there. Would fit in well with our exciting young team. A marquee striker then and away we go.
