  1. It hasn't happened and we have no idea how much he would be on if it does, but its definitely to blame for us not signing palyers
  2. Because that is where the blame lies for agents and tabloid newspapers making stories up. If Mowbray didn't say anything, there would be nothing about Dack 100% guaranteed
  3. Where did he say players went elsewhere for £5k per week more?
  4. I would guess that Celina and McGinn could be on more than our top earners. Celina came from City and Villa fought off interest from Celtic for McGinn. QPR didn't want top sell Freeman, so it wasn't a case of us missing out on him for a "few grand". Of course what he is saying there is logical and makes sense. 14 teams in the division have yet to make a signing. You would think we were the only ones going off the comments here
  5. How much will he go for though? they will probably end up selling him for less than they paid us. Be great of there was a sell on clause, but I think we got a great deal either way
  6. Tough start, but if we have a good August , it will certainly be something to build on. Great game to start with IMO. Must win!!!!
  7. No, he only has a handful of followers and if you look at his other tweets they are generally nonsense. Of course that won't stop the rumour spreading that we are selling him
  8. How do you work out we have a good enough budget to challenge for the top 6 when at least 6 teams have bigger budgets than us? By my rough estimate 9 will have more to spend for sure. Then we will have around the same budget as 6-10 other clubs.
  9. Different times man. 2 words- parachute payments. Not impossible, but you can't just pretend things are the same as they were 20 years ago. The playing field is becoming less and less level. We got relegated at an awful time financially. Nevermind the clubs you mention above, it seemed to me like we were competing with the likes of Spurs when we were in the Premier league!
  10. Yes, 11-12 teams we would be expecting to finish ahead of. That still only puts us mid-table. You are conveniently ignoring the teams who have spent/will spend more. Of the 3 clubs you mention above even, they have all spent big fees on players in the last few seasons, far ,far more than us and it's an absolute cert that their wage budget is bigger than ours.
  11. He never said they won more trophies than us. He is talking about financially, which is the name of the game these days. If Bournemouth or Burnley got relegated they would be big clubs in this division Jesus if he was coming out saying we are a huge club in this division and should be beating everyone, would you honestly think that to be a good strategy at this point? I think the men in the white coats would be down to Brockhall. He said he wants us to challenge for promotion this season, so I think that nips any excuses in the bud. He has basically put the pressure on himself and the players. This goes against everything you are claiming.
  12. Stoke were in the Premier league for over a decade before playing in the Championship last season. They regularly get crowds of 25,000 plus and they are receiving parachute payments. Why does describing them as a big club in this division surprise/annoy you?
  13. I haven't moved any goalposts. You named a handful of teams who finished below us. What about all the clubs who spent more than us? Are you saying that's not the case? We were around mid-table for spending last summer and that is where we finished. Sorry, what is your point exactly?
  14. Someone posted a link to our end of year accounts the other day and did the calculation from that. I have no idea where it was posted.
  15. Last summer maybe, but in the 5 seasons prior to that I would say all of those clubs bar Wigan and Milwall spent more than us. Mowbray has steadied the ship and got us going in the right direction again. He was playing championship catch up from the minute he walked in the door. We now have a team to get behind again. I will admit I like this team more than any team we have had since being relegated from the Premier league and I wouldn't say I am alone in that regard. We spent 5.25 million plus add-ons on an England under 19 international. Personally I would have liked to have seen the money used elsewhere, but it wasn't and that has been discussed enough at this point.
  16. What he says he wants to happen and what actually happens can be different alright, usually with regards to things out of his control like transfers. If he is guilty of anything ,it is covering for the Venkys and their level of support/interest. He was dropping hints before going to India about needing a budget to push on, then the word back was that it will be the same as last summer, which is fine and an improvement on other summers, but I do have a feeling he expected more. He does big up other clubs too much at times, I actually think that ultimately worked to our favour in League 1, but he does over do it in the championship I will admit. I don't remember him ever saying anything like we are punching above our weight, in fact I recall him saying a number of times that we are a Premier league club. As for the no money line, well see my first paragraph above. We just don't have the budgets of other teams in the division. A bit more of a level playing field this coming season though.
  17. £350,000 for an Australian international sounds like a good deal. We ave had a few good Ozzies over the years
  18. Cos he has nothing else to write about?
  19. Look he isn't media trained and smooth like some of these modern managers nowadays. You can see he loves his football and gets excited sometimes when talking and rambles off and exaggerates. If we were all recorded regularly and our words examined , I am sure we would all be guilty of exaggerating or getting facts wrong from time to time. The "lying" narrative some peddle on here is nasty in my opinion.
  20. It was clearly an exaggeration to emphasize a point. We have all done it. Some real sneaks on here trying to use it as a bat to beat Mowbray for 'lying". I do wonder if they are like this in person
  21. No way, since when? Why haven't you said this on here before
  22. "If he doesn't do well at Preston, there will be big question marks over why Mowbray scouted him" I have literally read it all now ??? Talk about "damned if you do, damned if you don't!"
  23. It is difficult to tell if that quote was deleted by the poster or a mod though? He could also have said something else and then being banned. It's not that clear. They shouldn't be deleting non abusive posts that are just critical though
  24. I would be surprised if they are censoring well articulated criticism. More than likely censoring abusive posts or drivel. They shouldn't censor the drivel though.
