  1. Just saw the following post on the IGN forum , kind of sums my feelings up Because the game doesn't tell you you need a full day to send the calling card until literally when you're about to send. I put off doing it because I was under the impression I had 2 days to finish everything. Nope. Now I have to start a week before losing all progress I made in those 7 days. I just did a lot of s*** and have zero interest in doing it all again. Why would the game wait until the very last moment to tell you that you need an entire day to something crucial to the progression of the game? I'm new to the series and I was having a blast until this. I lost 5 hours of progress because I thought I had a whole day left to finish. I don't even want to play anymore.
  2. Missed that Joe Hart signing and have to say I'm not impressed!
  3. Ya, the formation will be interesting. He needs to have his mind made up after the pre-season games and not be experimenting in August. A quality CB, GK and striker are musts if we have any aspirations to push top 10 or better.
  4. Ya, that's the key piece really. He did say he wanted players to come in and improve the team straight away and there does appear to be a backtrack on that somewhat, but time will tell. Disappointing if we don't have at least 2 new starters in the first 11 V Charlton.
  5. They don't make them like Moran anymore. He played Gaelic football for Dublin before going over to England. Gaelic is still physical, but when Moran played it was ridiculous. Guaranteed you would be fighting with your marker, like I am talking punching the heads off each other. Moran would have marked some absolute savages, guys with no teeth, the most rural rough and ready of men. Football players would have been absolute pussys to him. This is from 1991,it was far, far worse in the 70s when hardly any games were recorded
  6. Ya, I have learnt a valuable lesson here. The tutorial is good, but it should point out the calling card thing for sure. See I didn't infiltrate it sooner because I was trying to do the social stuff with the guy who owns the cafe and also to stick to my schedule so he wouldn't give out to me. I even got a job in the 24/7!
  7. FFS BIGGING UP CHARLTON WHAT IS NEXT MOWBARRY OUT. HE SHOULD SAY WE BEAT THEM REAL GOOD 10-0!!!!!!!!
  8. For sure, but being mentally tough and not caving comes in different forms. I would say Smallwood is a battler, but mentally he undoubtedly put the head down last season at times. Someone like Downing might not fly into a tackle, but being brave in his case would be just making himself available for the pass , trying something with the ball. I think that was where we struggled last season at times.
  9. I would say this is the complete opposite of a panic signing to be fair!
  10. I doubt he has had the career he has had without being mentally strong and having fight in him. If we signed a "battler" would you be saying we need more players with skill and ability? I suspect you would
  11. I don't think he will say those two are like new signings Hopefully we sign a striker and we don't have "new signing Samuel" competing with Graham.
  12. Shite. I like the fact the game doesn't hand hold, but I'm a bit pissed i'm in this position and it's letting me continue down the dead end. Like it says "execution date" on Monday, I didn't know anything about leaving a calling card and having to lose a day because of that. Ya, I will probably fly through it, but I did a lot of stuff, including grinding in the previous week. Went from level 5 to 11.
  13. Lucky he didn't need replacing as he contributed so little then eh
  14. I don't think anyone will be classing those 2 as new signings, but fire away if you want Forgot him too....
  15. https://thesefootballtimes.co/2018/11/23/gary-mcallisters-indian-summer-at-liverpool/ This lad did alright at Liverpool at 35 going on 36
  16. I actually thought he was ok when he played. Chapman a fair more exciting proposition though, Downing brings the experience and it's good he can play on the win or centrally.
  17. He has a good set of lugs on him alright
  18. Nice replacement for Conway, certainly an upgrade. CB and a striker next please
  19. Mmm. Execution deadline is Monday. It doesn't say anything about calling card, but I haven't left one yet, so maybe it wouldn't call it that yet. Feck, having to go back a week and to the start of the palace would be very annoying, borderline too much. Shit, I should have kept more saves
  20. Exactly and it is even becoming more difficult for clubs with endless reserves of money like Man u for example. Some fans just don't understand how the transfer window works
  21. Well then stop reading, simples. Yes sometimes it is negative and should be called as such. Having a different opinion doesn't make someone negative and I never claimed it was, so don't put words in my mouth. Everybody wants the club to do better, to suggest different is silly.
  22. It'd not an excuse, it's reality. If your version was what happens, players would have been moving over the last few weeks and they haven't.
  23. Shit, so if I am on Sunday and the deadline is Monday to steal the treasure and I still haven't yet left the calling card, does that mean I am basically screwed?
  24. You could make the case for Chapman and Davenport as being like new signings as they played what, around 60 minutes of game time between them all season? You couldn't say Brereton and Rothwell are as they were in and around the first team for most of the season, with Rothwell being in the starting 11 for half of it.
  25. I don't think anyone wants different. It's just very complicated to get deals done these days, hence why 14 clubs in the division haven't signed anyone. Players get many offers and take their time mulling them over, they hold out hoping for better. It's up to the club whether they move on or not. If you move on though, you are going down your list. It's a tricky balancing act. Not football manager 2008 on the PC unfortunately.
