  1. We were stable in perspective to where we were before that under Bowyer. Absolute anarchy. Ya, I think that's a good approach. This window will tell the story though
  2. I think it's safe to say that things have stabilised since then and work is taking place to push on
  3. Yet, the narrative has already started that he isn't. Even though he said he was.
  4. It wasn't arguing. I just asked how I proved your point. So, I didnt prove anything. You just said that to make it look like I did without backing it up. You too
  5. Ya, us improving our defensive record.
  6. Proved what point? That makes no sense.
  7. No. Didn't Dack make an impression in league 1 for us off the bench before becoming a regular starter? Rothwell was a different player at the end of the season compared to earlier on. If he was the same player he would have scored, assisted or generally impacted the games he came on in. Every player has to show they are good enough from the bench before becoming a starter. Unless you sign proven players at this level, which hopefully we do this summer.
  8. No, I think you are blinkered. It's about 80% moaning about nothing. Hardly surprising when a mod makes a comment like this. Mowbray got no credit this year and I am sure many will say he didn't deserve any.
  9. For the reasons mentioned above. Perhaps it was Mowbrays management of Rothwell that led to his absolute flourish at the end of the season. He chased and signed him. He obviously wanted him. It's not like Mowbray has been some detriment to Rothwells career. In fact, it's the opposite
  10. When fans jump on Mowbrays comments about us being unable to out spend our rivals as some sign he has nothing to spend, it's worth considering how many clubs in our division are currently receiving parachute payments. At my count it was 6 clubs last season, with 3 more joining them. So that will be 9 clubs receiving parachute payments next season, 8 if villa go up. Perspective guys.
  11. It's not that silly when you look at the fact they signed(or are about to sign) James off Swansea. Ya, it was class. I think Jagielkas top level career ended with that Dack arse bump.
  12. I think the last paragraph is key and ain't it the way things should be? He doesn't always get it right, about 70/30 as things stand, but I still say he gives youth a chance. The make up of our squad shows that. You say bits and bat's, but he brought Armstrong and Bell in as regular starters, both young players. He is undoubtedly stubborn and sticks to his guns in some ways which were to our detriment last season, but I don't think he is inflexible to the point where we should be concerned. I reckon we will see a very young and exciting team next season. Hopefully with at least 2 players added who have won promotion before. He knows we can't rely on some of the older heads, his approach to Mulgrew, Conway and Smallwood showed that.
  13. Travis fecked up when given his chance the season before last. Yes, his hand was forced to play Rothwell, the player HE signed after chasing for a couple of windows.
  14. No, but he said he hopes he will push for a starting place next season. When he will be 20. Adding to my argument that he gives youth a chance.
  15. Did you read the earlier posts? The conversation was in relation to whether Mowbray gives young players a chance. I never said that pointing out when Rothwell or Travis eventually got in was spin. We can all have our views on when both Rothwell and Travis should have broken into the starting 11, but the reality is they are now in the team. Same as all of the others players under 25 in the starting 11 and match day squad. Christ, he spent £7 million on a 19 year old.
  16. Practically very single word in your post is spin. Whether Lenihan was a starter before is irrelevant. Mowbray also made him captain. Bells ability doesn't change his age Nyambe played 29 games last season. Armstrong played most games Raya was one of the youngest first choice keepers in the league Token appearances or not re the other 4, they still made their debuts. This is progress The reality is the average age of our starting 11 is very young. The narrative that Mowbray doesn't give youth a chance isn't true. You might not agree with the players he plays from our youngsters, but he does play a lot of them. The issue is we need more experienced players who have won promotion in the past.
  17. All he says in the interview is we can't be the biggest spenders in the league. I don't get why people are over reacting about the comment. Did ye not know this already?
  18. No, but best of luck to him and thanks for the memories
  19. Ah, I think so. If he gets a better deal elsewhere, good luck to him, but from a football point of view and his career I think this is the place for him. Yes, he probably didn't feature enough last season he will feel, or in his favoured position, but I think that's on him too. He needs to keep working on his game to get back to where he was. A second season here in a settled environment is where he should be if he is serious about rehabilitating his reputation to anywhere near where it was. A bigger pay day elsewhere will mean less long-term security I would imagine.
  20. Probably around the same when you factor in wages. Wilder is a quality manager, he has proven that. They were the best team we played this year. We spent more than some teams who finished ahead of us and less than some teams who finished below us. Throwing money at it doesn't guarantee anything for sure, but for the bit of extra Championship experience we need to be up there, I reckon we will have to spend a bit on either fees, wages or more than likely both. Contrary to some of the spin on here, we have a very young team.
  21. This is not true. Travis, Nyambe, Bell , Armstrong, Dack, Lenihan and Rothwell are all young and will be in the starting 11 next season. Butterworth, Buckley, Magloire and Davenport all made their debuts last season. Again, all young. The average age of our starting 11 in the last game was like 23.
  22. If those 2 are looking we should ask for 30 million
  23. It was competitive for the aim of staying up when you look at those around us Now getting into the top 6 "competitive" is a different kettle of fish altogether.
  24. Exactly. He will downplay it if he has money and so what we will have here all summer is negativity one way or another. It seems some are going down the "Mowbray lies" route, which I think is pretty nasty to be honest. The man has been great for the club and is miles more honorable than what we have had since Venkys arrived. The reality is that you have to tell some white lies and hold back some aspects of the truth when you are a football manager. They all do it, every single one of them bar none. If someone like Warnock did it, people would be saying he's a great lad who knows how to play the game.
