  1. What has happened? I heard that it isn't actually Tony Mowbray at all, but an actor done up to look like him. Madame has the real Tony locked in her basement. Not claiming to be ITK, so make of it what you will!
  2. Except for the fact Wolves were one of the best Championship teams in memory with an excellent and proven manager. Couldn't see Villa breaking top 10 if they went up, under any circumstances.
  3. I can't imagine he will be in much of a negotiating position. He has done jack shit in 5 seasons. If he wanted to sort himself out, coming here with Mowbray as manager would be the best move for him. I have no idea if Mowbray would be interested though.
  4. I think the nostalgia and also the silliness is key. The good old days of wrestling were whacky and silly. All too serious now in the WWE
  5. Villa won't be splashing the cash if they don't go up.
  6. Keogh is a great Championship defender.
  7. Jesus, they would have been better off keeping Rodwell!
  8. Villa won't be strong if they don't go up. They will need to do enormous restructuring of their playing staff
  9. If Villa don't go up, I would get in for Mings. If Derby don't go up, we could do worse than Richard Keogh.
  10. I prefer his brother Harry, although his chanting might get a bit annoying
  11. But why bother slating him when a loyal servant is leaving? Does it make people feel better about themselves? I just don't get it
  12. I remember reading comments from Cook and thinking this. It was a real football manager buy. They would have been better off signing Conway, Smallwood and Downing off us along with Nuttall on loan! Didn't they sign that highly rated midfielder from Hibs, McGeogh I think his name is? That mustn't have worked out either I wonder could we nab a few players from there. Oviedo might be worth a shout as competition for Bell.
  13. I thought the exact same. Sunderland could have got an injection of money if they went up and been mid table or higher. Charlton will struggle I feel.
  14. In fairness Cattermole and Leadbitter wouldn't be the two most dynamic midfielders. Give me Smallwood and Evans at that level all day. The Grigg transfer looks crazy now. What happened him there?
  15. We didn't nearly end up in the play-offs. We were top 2 most of the season and finished 9 points ahead of 3rd. 9 points Stuart. That's not nearly ending up in the play-offs, sorry. Our squad was better, as was Sunderlands this season. The difference was our manager delivered and got the best out of them. Not sure what you mean by your last sentence
  16. You could also argue the opposite by saying back to back relegation means they have a higher quality of player in League 1. A good few of their match day squad yesterday played Premier league with them. Their manager also spent considerably more than Mowbray. £4 million on a striker who didn't even start the final. He also signed, to name but 2 , Wylke and Power, both of whom would be on top League 1 wages. He will undoubtedly be sacked. I think what stood to us was Mowbrays experience in League 1, but also the the team spirit he instilled, along with the ability to grind out wins.
  17. Derby all the way for me. Villa are a despicable team. Diving and snitching on the opposition constantly. Their manager is a dick, their assistant manager is worse. Come on Derby.
  18. I saw the worst one on the LT the other day, in an interview with Lenihan they said he was from "County Mead". It's County Meath. I mean google lads, come on!
  19. Yesterday just shows you have no right to just walk out of League 1. Puts our season in perspective and shows what a great job Mowbray did, even though some won't admit it!
  20. Good luck to him, great servant during a difficult time for the club. When you look at the "Venky years" , he will probably be thought of as one of our main men. It's not his fault we went from Duff, David Bentley and Pedersen to him.
  21. Gallagher will be due to retire by the time we eventually sign him. Seriously though at under 5 million he would be a decent signing. English, right age, decent enough record on loan for the most part. He needs to move somewhere now where he can call home and get a proper run of games. Maher would be a real coup if we can pull it off. A game changer of a player. I am about 10% confident that we will pull it off unfortunately. Too much money and competition sniffing around.
  22. OK, if Smallwood came on and got that red. What would you have said? Travis hadn't shown enough up to that to expect a starting place. Anyway, it's all irrelevant now as Mowbray has him as a starter. He's a talent for sure.
  23. Look, I was so critical during our horrendous run this season. Im not blinkered. If its not good enough this summer, I'll say it.
