  1. Well if someone on a message board said it, it must be true It sounds like Mowbray was exaggerating for effect, but of course some on here will spin that and say he is/was being dishonest. Anyway, to my original point, if he does want crazy money, we are right not to pay it.
  2. If someone shows me where he says a League 1 centre half wants £50,000 per week, I will hold my hands up. It sounds too ludicrous.
  3. He did not say Bauer wants £40-50,000 per week. This is another one of these scenarios where someone posts something on here that isn't accurate, then it's picked up by others and starts becoming the actual narrative He may have said something about wages, but he did not say that a centre half from league 1 is demanding/expecting £50,000 per week.
  4. Not what he said, he said it will improve over time. Just as happens with any project. Some of ye on here need to take a chill pill
  5. He actually said Bauer wants £40-50,000 per week? Link please
  6. Decent business by Stoke. Gotta love that sweet, sweet parachute money. Queue meltdown on here in 5...4..3... Stoke City are closing in on a triple signing of free transfers. The Championship club are close to agreeing deals for goalkeeper Adam Davies, striker Lee Gregory and midfielder Nick Powell, Sky Sports News understands. Davies has also been offered a new contract with Barnsley after an impressive stint as number one in their promotion season back to the Championship, but he looks set to join Stoke instead. The Potters want to sign a new goalkeeper with Jack Butland – a target for Bournemouth – facing an uncertain future at the Bet365 Stadium this summer. Gregory, who scored 13 goals for Millwall in the Championship last season, has informed the Lions of his desire to find a new club with his contract at the Den expiring on June 30. And Nathan Jones’ side are also understood to be close to agreeing terms for Powell, who is out of contract at Wigan next month.
  7. Who is talking about those figures???
  8. Ok, well firstly its an opinion piece in the LT, not actual comments from anyone at the club. Secondly, as JH points out, players wanting more than they are worth, even if that is within our budget, is them pricing themselves out of a move. Look at Man u for an extreme example of where paying players more than they are worth can lead too.
  9. Did ye see the prank they played on Beckham about his statue? Was pretty funny. Not a fan of James Corden usually though.
  10. He wouldn't have gotten 1% of the action he did if he actually looked like that!
  11. From what he has said, yes. I have never heard that we need to sell since Mowbray has been here. Quite the opposite actually.
  12. Apart from the times where he repeatedly said that promotion is the aim
  13. The main complaint is that the sculpture, which was revealed on Wednesday, does not bear any resemblance to the Belfast boy. Bit of an issue that alright
  14. Indeed, but I would hope that they have learnt by now that selling our best players only leads to lower league positions.
  15. Well he is our most sellable asset. If we don't have to sell him and Mowbray has no intention of doing so, I have no issue with him discussing this. I mean realistically he will be sold next summer if we don't make a very good attempt at promotion.
  16. Definitely. At this point a picture on the official site would be acceptable I think.
  17. Delaney is a good journalist. Not many Irish "Miguels" ? You should get him on the podcast
  18. So we shouldn't try and find the new Vardy?
  19. Did you see Bamfords? A league of it's own
  20. Ya, I used to have that set up. Must re-download!
  21. I don't like any player diving, but you have to admit that Bamfords was particularly pathetic?
  22. I could see them going down the promoting from internally route. It will be a huge blow to them whenever Pep leaves. Gas to think that the season before the oil boys bought them, we finished ahead of them in the league. As did Portsmouth.
