  1. I can understand no permanents if we are being quoted 10 million for players like Austin ,but why not loans? 1 striker and 1 center half
  2. £10 million for Austin. A lot of money for a 29 year old with some pretty serious injuries throughout his career. No sell on value there. If we were in the top 3 now he could be worth a gamble to get us over the line, but a huge risk for us at that price.
  3. Our league position is quite an achievement when you look at how much that starting 11 cost...
  4. For every one of the players you mentioned, there are 20 duds. It's easy to pick the good ones in hindsight. Mowbarys signings have been far more good than bad. Dack alone makes up for the bad ones.
  5. Ain't hindsight great. All of them would be expensive now. Dack and Armstrong have done ok?
  6. Go on Chaddy boy, you tell them. Back with a bang!
  7. You don't see any negativity? Is that because you are going around deleting them or something Gallagher is rubbish Austin is an injury prone dingle Assombolonga is too ambitious a signing and on too much, we will end up with no one etc etc That's a sample of what I have read! Personally I think it's great that we are being linked with those players and not someone like Chris Brown
  8. Because Southampton don't want to let him go. I have seen many, many clubs linked with him
  9. My god the negativity on here. Looks like people are forgetting we are having our best season since being relegated from the Premier league. Christ almighty, what will it be like on here tomorrow if we don't sign anyone... Is the deadline 5pm or 11pm?
  10. Ya, I thought James looked class against us
  11. Not a huge amount have been permanent players for both clubs. I forgot Steven Reid went there.
  12. Born there means definite pure bread Dingle A senior appearance while there on a permanent contract is next Then someone who makes an appearance while on loan is the least serious offence I wouldn't count anyone else
  13. I would agree with you. Our recent signings, Reed aside , have all been brought in as long term Rovers players. Austin would break wage structure and he was a full blown dingle, a successful dingle at that. I have read he has a bad attitude too I remember, but I take that with a pinch of salt as it is subjective and some managers rub players up the wrong way and vice versa. That being said, if he scored a brace on his debut and we won. I am sure we could all move forward. It's just if he doesn't do well.... then again he has shown he can be absolute quality at this level. It's a tricky one Who was the last ex dingle to be forgiven for their sins here?
  14. Austin is a risk with his injury record, but he goal scoring record at this level is on par with pretty much anyone. He was a dingle through and through though. Whittingham got off lightly cos he never went full Dingle. Never go full Dingle.
  15. Nixon tweeted that the interest in Austin is real, but loan to buy for Gallagher is the preferred option. Said we would pay half of Austin's wages.
  16. Big lad. Needs to hit the gym hard for the next year or two.
  17. Gallagher would be more in line with our recent deals.
  18. I don't think it was mentioned enough but his pass for Armstrongs opener last weekend was really sublime. If a player at a top 4 club did it, the pundits would have been drooling.
  19. They need to try and somehow balance their books. If Hogan does well there and Sheffield go up, they could get 15 million for him. I don't think Sheffield are Villas rivals anyway. They are going for automatic, Villa will do well to keep in touch with us. They are a very weird club.
  20. Some on Twitter are now saying we are in for Peter Crouch. Who knows I see Sky are linking Dack to Burnley. That would cause some uproar
  21. Like the great King Kenny
