  1. Nyambe is worth 15-20k a week in my book. Very very good right back. He will be in a promotion winning team or top 6 team in the coming years. We blew it with him.
  2. It is staggering when you think about it the money being spent and available in the Premier League. Regular 50-100mil transfers and wages of 50-400k a week. You go one division down and majority of clubs are looking for freebies and scrambling to cobble together 500k and pay 10-20k a week wages. The gulf is absolutely massive. I get the TV rights and the pandemic etc but you would think it wouldn't be abnormal for championship clubs to regularly spend 5mil on transfer and be able to have a 5-10 players in the squad on 20k. The money seems reflective of non league finances at times. Crazy.
  3. Similar to my post regarding Hourihane yesterday. Watched alot of Clarke and Hendrick. Both are awful these days, struggle to see what Hendrick does well, he has no major attributes, Clarke is just coasting too. No thanks.
  4. As an Irishman and seen plenty of him and watched his whole career, he is not very good. Decent left peg but Haas declined massively the last few years. No loss weather we were interested or not.
  5. Seems to be alot of self convincing going on. Need a few established players in, a few free agents and a few loans. Need to start to get the ball rolling and it's not a case of me being impatient but the clock is ticking. One or two should be arriving this week, they have had long enough.
  6. The squad is paper thin. That is the reality. Back up keeper needed. A right back, 2 centre halves, a left back. 2 centre mids and a striker, possibly two.
  7. Hate? It's purely pointing out a problem area, he is way off it, slower than a wet week. I never suggested getting at LB in at the expense of another area either. Needs to be looked at simultaneously. Just because he is a LB doesn't mean you have to be happy with it. He is not championship level.
  8. Not sure what you class as "ok" but he was skint nearly every game, positionally poor and awful going forward. Needs replacing, done with willing players to be good. He was one of the worst performers last season and showed little promise of improving. He was far from ok in my book.
  9. Have to agree on Sharpe. Seems very poor, nothing personal.
  10. Pickering needs replacing. Any decent manager would see that instantly. Awful signing and a pure liability.
  11. Jason Knight is a quality player. Done very well recently in the nation's league. Neat, tidy, clever and bags of energy. Be a great signing.
  12. Exactly how I see it. Do people think he is the answer or just live in hope that he is? Either way I'll reserve judgement until we at least get to see a few games and the season starts to take shape. I feel the longer it dragged on and the fear of some washed up or recycled manager getting the gig altered people's mindsets. We appointed someone with a name in football and a bit sexier than a Pardew etc and the relief seems to have led to positivity but JDT is still very untested and unproven. I guess most appointments can go either way. You can end up with a Wagner or Ismeal type season or it can go the opposite way completely.
  13. He very well may. Something tells me he would take it and is probably chuffed to get the gig and a 3 year deal. Hopefully not a yes man.
  14. Exactly there is no point installing the infrastructure we have done over the last few weeks then shrug your shoulders and not invest in a squad that has lost Rothwell, Nyambe, Lenihan, Van Hecke, Khadra, Davenport and likely Brereton among others. Add Armstrong to that and it's a alot of quality our the door. The Pickerings and Edun's of this world are not up to it.
  15. Yeah I get you, the recycled lower league manager threat was real but I always felt they would go for a name. Because he had a relatively successful career doesn't mean he can mirror that as a manager. Farke, Carvahal and Dyche were far more appealing to me. There is definitely a pool of ex players now managers flaoting around the management circle that get gigs based on their name. Solskjear syndrome.
  16. Didn't want to piss on people's parade since this was announced but not sure about this at all. Just a hunch and maybe the current squad situation combined but I think JDT has his work cut out for him and not sure if he has the nous and experience to handle rovers right now. I fear a disaster.
  17. 😂😂😂😂 No I know I just thought I'd throw in John Claret for the craic. Any Lancashire Telegraph readers will be aware of the maggot!
  18. Stayed quiet to give this all a chance to breathe and not react too early. Shocking set up and process from start to finish. If the rumours (which appear to be true) of having to keep on the existing backroom staff are true then it's time expect the worst of the worst and make your peace with it.
  19. Enjoyable nothing to play for game. You can't defend the collapse from the position we were in at Christmas. It probably is time for a change. I don't think Tony deserves some of the extreme comments on here recently but I personally respect the overall job he did. Onto next season, let's hope the next appointment is a decent one and not a cheap option. The squad has talent, it's been mismanaged at times. In fact Tony lost the plot at times but he also was a safe pair of hands and say what you want, it is what we needed. Easy to forget just how toxic it was. All the best Tony.
  20. Yeah way too many to count. Even the home Coventry game back in October. 2 up and ends 2-2. Peterborough last week. Way too many easily spring to mind. Reading. The Gallagher miss before they score. Forest at home. Swansea away. Glaring misses and errors that have come back to haunt us massively.
  21. The Sheffield United away game felt guy wrenching at the time and look at it now. Fine margins. Down to 10 men and we miss a pen and go on to lose. Has that happened anywhere else this season? Highly doubt it.
  22. Jesus the dropped points and what seemed a never ending death spiral really is sickening when you think how comfortable in getting into the playoffs we should have been from the position we were in. Every team suffer freak results and let stuff slip, that's part of football but my God we took the absolute piss.
  23. Why do we ALWAYS offer a way back into it?
