  1. You consistently talk drivel about refs.
  2. Classic overreaction here (we are shite) just like last week (we are genius). We were not great but solid just like last week before Yuki gave a masterclass in scoring. We need to be very careful of a break away because we are likely to be camped in their half. Not our strength –we like to be counterattacking. Will be interesting to see how it goes. Not convinced and said so last week about Carter at right back.
  3. So he was fully involved in the transfers of Yuki and Gueye?
  4. I liked JDT a lot but he simply wasn't backed and by the end the situation was no good for him or for us. Has any other manager requested to leave but been refused and finally had to pay to leave? JE came into a difficult situation and has done well. He and his recruitment team (that is up for discussion-who exactly is responsible for the incomings/outgoings) have had a little more money and certainly more imagination (which i am sure JDT would have liked). This has led to our optimism, feel good factor and a good start. It remains to be seen how we go from here -injuries, the Rao's, Waggot, court cases -who knows? But no doubt things are looking up.
  5. I've been patronised by far more knowledgeable posters than you. 😄
  6. Lots of positives and a great win. Well done to the lads and the manager. Thought Dolan played well (despite occasionally hanging on too long to the ball again-eg he should have slipped the ball earlier for the 2nd goal but got tackled -luckily he was able to get up and slip a lovely pass to Yuki who scored a sweet goal. Also thought Pears was good –just need to give credit where it’s due. 2 good saves and a good punch. Tronstad outstanding at the stuff that needs doing. Trav good but tires quickly. They weren’t great but you do what you have to. All sensible by JE. One thing that really irked was Buckley. What a complete egoist. He stroked a 5 yard pass at the back when we were 3-0 up as though it was a work of art. Far better in his own head than he really is. Was wondering where the goals wold come from without Sammie. Step up Yuki. Lovely. No doubt in my mind that had he not been on showing his class, and had Bristol not gifted us a first goal, it would have been more difficult. There was a spell after going 1-0 up that the game was scrappy and although not threatened, we did not do much. But nobody in our side scores that 3rd goal other than Yuki. Or the second. Maybe Cantwell –let’s see. And on Cantwell, that fancy pass by him (the crossover legs?) says it all –it will be interesting to see how it goes-a fancy Dan flattering to deceive or a real star? What was also really pleasing was to see the players who came on. Duberry clearly has a sweet left foot, good first touch and is pretty rapid. Cantwell struggled to get into the game (not his fault). Credit to the recruitment team –some imagination shown on the usual peanuts provided by the numpties above. Don’t buy this “everyone was excellent” –thought Carter looked lumbering at right back. Baker solid but can drift out of a game. Anyway, love the Yuki chant and always nice to go home in a good mood. Loved his bow to the pitch as he went off.
  7. Take more water with it. 😁
  8. No issues with JE but Waggot certainly didn't get him by design. A normal club would have seen that JDT was fed up with lies and removed him a season ago as JDT himself requested. But obvs that wasn't happening because it might have cost SWAG a few quid. SWAG and his paymasters waited for JDT to actually pay the club to leave.
  9. Ball only got through to Trav by lucky deflection -by then he was too wide to make the shot easy, Not Trav's fault.
  10. ? Who's crying? (Other than you about the ref). Player breaks a rule, gets sent off.
  11. Thought there would be more on posting -all wasted? 🙂
  12. On the goal, not much use berating the ref -lino gives offside, ref goes with it. To be clear, I thought the ref was poor overall. On the sending off, suspect Gaye could do that in Belgium where most continental players wave imaginary cards. On the game, well done lads and JE.
  13. Disagree. This board would be in meltdown if opposition players waved imaginary cards to get Rovers players booked.
  14. So looks like normal SWAG/Pasha MO resumed: • Troublesome manager removed and blamed for a poor season • More pliant manager installed • Fan base still reasonably compliant and docile –Rao tenure regarded as necessary evil; that without them we would have no money at all; that the stadium is clean; we have a new bus • Our positive narrative intact: stay positive and 'trust the process', the owners are committed, the owners never refuse to sign a cheque, the owners want promotion, they have been good generous owners and the fans should be grateful and get behind the team. • A new ‘project’ underway-optimism the order of the day • New scapegoats/patsies in place should things go pear shaped • Players exited for significant sums to enable running costs for this season • Incoming players for pennies • Overall budget reduced • Our bonuses safe for the moment • Local media base compliant and willing • National media base uninterested • EFL and other authorities still looking the other way • Championship midtable likely despite cutbacks • My exit route in place should things go really pear shaped (Waggot) • Most fans no idea who I am (Pasha)
  15. Incoming • Gueye (26) 1.25 mill (Belgian reporter) or 1m (Jackson) or 1.8m (transfermarket) • Ohashi (28) 1.25m? (small 6 figure fee Jackson) or 150k or free (Japanese journalist • Balazs Toth (26) 1.2m?? • Todd Cantwell (26) 600k?? • Batth (33) free • Barrett (22) free • Weimann (32) free • Doherty (18) • Owen beck (22) Loan • Lewis Baker (29) Loan • Amario Cozier-Duberry (19) Loan • Travis (return from loan) • Buckley (return from loan) Approx £4.3 mill Outgoing • Sammie Smodics (28) 10.6m • Sam Gallagher (28) 1.8m • Leopald Wahlstedt (24) 1m • Telalovic (24) • Jake Garrett (22) end of loan • Connor O’Riordan (21) end of loan • Dilan Markandy (23) end of loan • John Fleck (32) without club at present • Georgie Gent 200k • Jack Vale (loan) Approx 13.6 Other outgoing • Wharton (19) 21.1m • Kaminski 2.9m • Ash Philipps 2.3m • Niall Ennis 585k • Yasin Ayari End of loan • Andrew Moran End of loan • Ben Chrisene End of loan • Billy Koumetio End of loan • James Hill End of loan Approx £28.5 Total outgoing Approx £42.1 So on the face of it, credit where it’s due, a good window by the recruitment team given the minimal budget - although it is greater than JDT had at his disposal-3 times as much so 3 times as much success? 😉 At least we have a little bit of uplift in spirit, a little more cover in positions (defence though?) Should be enough to achieve the mediocre objective of remaining in the division. An interesting comparison may be with the 23/24 season that JDT had to deal with. Incomings that involved money were Wahlstedt (1m) and O’Riordan (550k). Numpties still in charge at the very top but seems our recruitment team’s contact list is more imaginative and funds a little more liquid. Remains to be seen how they all turn out, not to mention other underlying shenanigans. But reasons to be cheerful re recruitment given constraints.

  17. Nice photo of Rovers team here from 64. https://roverstan.wordpress.com/2015/02/13/fa-cup-5th-round-1964-style/ Anyway, that's enough history -the present is somewhat more pressing. 🙂
  18. Ron Atkinson crunched a Rovers player in the first minutes and looking into the player's eyes on the floor thought that Rovers players 'didn't fancy it.' Rovers kicked up the slope in the second half.
  19. Tyrone, Leonard. Apologies, you are correct of course. Skim reading (lots of transfer names, no reality 😉 ) Yes that Hutchinson (Ian) had the 'windmill' throw. Tommy, Scottish, Blackpool, Coventry, City (and Burnley).
  20. Tyrone Ian Hutchinson Ah, such a bygone era. Got himself two broken legs, a broken arm, a broken toe, persistent knee trouble and retired at 27. Good old day, bad old days –sure we have done that debate before now.
  21. Been an interesting read all –thank you. But really, as we stand at present, for whatever reasons and nuances:- 1. Funding at all levels will essentially rely on outgoings 2. Waggot (or minions) will spin it how they like but point 1 remains 3. The Rao’s are here for the forseeable
