smiller Between Suhail and Gestede they have now decided that there is no need to pay more than 10k a week for a player with those two as their proof. 11 โAโ players on a max of 10k. 11 โBโ Players on a max of 6k. And 11 Young players on a max of 1k. Any exceptions will be phased out. So, along with Pasha/RG cementing their authority, the above model, (along with the Raoโs refusal to inject money over and above that which is generated in-house) is not interested in league position? If by a miracle the model leads to promotion, then so be it (but many believe that is actively thwarted due to unwanted scrutiny). If it leads to relegation, then so be it โless scrutiny, media donโt care, revolving door of players can continue creating fees for some, mid-table mediocrity still achievable, fan expectation can be easily managed. -

Some informative (eg smiller) and interesting posts of late -thanks. Jackson article? Supine spin from club mouthpiece, economical with the truth, masquerading as reasoned and balanced truth. The king is dead (SWAG), long live the king (Gestede). New autocratic state in place but utilising the same old playbook โeven cheaper too. One puppet master (Suhail), one enforcer (G), one compliant manager (VI) Non-compliant or off-piste forces removed (the egg and SWAG) Several shady agents/background bodies still pulling strings (allegedly) Toxic, paranoid work place to create fear and obedience โcheck Remove expensive players โcheck Remove expensive staff -check Remove any staff not totally compliant and complicit in the โnewโ cheaper orthodoxy-check Compliant local press and social media plants willing to disseminate the puppet masters narrative -check On players speaking out โcould be NDAs (a la Big Sam) or could just be the culture of omerta among players โa sort of extension of what happens in the dressing room stays in the dressing room. Only guessing. -

Of course, there are always many factors and context. And stats are never the whole story. But I don't think there is much difference between the 2, but for me Shefki is better. -

Rover is believed to be interested in linking up with his old manager, John Eustace. But did it mention Rover felt his working conditions had got worse, that the club had asked him to work for nothing and that Pasha/Gestede refused to pay his bus fare home? -

Tyjon - not commenting either way but just on one incident (which of course is not the best basis for judgement I know) -he received the ball on the edge of the box and for me, a hungry selfish instinctive striker takes a snap shot, he had the time but just lazily laid it off. Early days for him obviously and I know he is highly rated. -

On their second goal, a bad back pass? Don't think so. More like a tool of a goalkeeper who thinks he is better than he is -simple first time pass available for him but preferred to take some touches as though he is some top international. -

Think making judgements on Trav and Tronstad on performance on Sat is a bit misleading. Not necessarily arguing with the fact that they are (good at this level) water carriers, I think non-footballing issues are affecting them. Trav is likely to go, clearly knows he is not wanted, so why go the extra 10%? Tronstad sees the mayhem around him, got a year left on a contract, and was clearly under par. -

Thought the performances/body language of Travis and Tronstad tells us more about the state of the club than of the players themselves. -

Incidentally, in case you haven't already, I urge all to read pp.500/501 on the summer transfer thread. Very interesting imo. -

Wouldn't necessarily disagree.. ...so get your whistle out and become a ref..it'll be easy ๐ Loads of ex players are jumping at the chance -great wages, nice working environment where everybody loves you and treats you well...Start at grass roots, great for perfecting a stonewall demeanour when players and fans are calling you a c**t in your face (and that's when you get a decision right) -followed by great off field aggro, all the headbutts you want as you get into your car after the game..... https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/11282963/how-to-become-a-referee-from-grassroots-to-premier-league https://www.amateur-fa.com/referee/referee-development/referee-pathway -

On the goal, that was my first thought. Why was the ball allowed to bounce? Later in the first half, we had 3 crosses in succession, all well cleared by headers from Baggies.
