  1. No love for City but under Pep Premier League x5, Carabao x4, FA cup x2, Champions League x1, EUFA super league x1, Club World Cup x1.
  2. That's an image I'm never gong to get out of my head 😉
  3. Classic management term in textbooks 😉
  4. Ah, the violence on the terraces, those were the days.....
  5. Good stuff glen. Hope your unexpected surgery went OK.
  6. Memory issues come to us all -can't remember what scores were a week ago but can remember stuff from 50 years ago. As to walking into a room and then forgetting why I am there.....;-)
  7. No offence intended at all 47er but I can't find a record of that game. https://www.11v11.com/teams/blackburn-rovers/tab/opposingTeams/opposition/Manchester City/
  8. As per the last 15 years, the football and performance on the pitch is subordinate if not irrelevant in relation to a core of non-footballing self-interested agencies and personnel more interested in maintaining power, control and personal profit.
  9. Let attempted control of the narrative continue and deepen. JE’s fault; Pears fault; refs fault; nobody expected us to be 7th; nearly made it but we’ll rebuild (how many times now?) again in the summer; new project underway; new manager to take us forward… …meanwhile internecine warfare behind the scenes, budgets cut, contracts not sorted… We all know the real score here and it wasn’t just what happened on the pitch today. …good luck glen. Frankly, you are a hero.
  10. Been away so only just seen this. What on earth are you going on about? I said I was pleased that it remained in place. I wasn't pouring cold water on anything. I wasn't making anything up. I did not say the club were all over it (I consistently say the club is a dysfuntional nightmare). I'll put it down to a misreading.
  11. Surprised (and pleased) that remained in place for so long. All fans, women and kids bags etc being searched on entry.
  12. They will be back in if we get to the playoffs? 😉
  13. No idea but that's interesting. Travis and Kayembe were at for most of the 2nd half. Thought it was just the usual Trav wind up stuff but Kayembe was really incensed and continued after the whistle.
  14. Come on Rovers, let's make the playoffs. Then I'll really look forward to team selections and hierarchy pronouncements/spin/narrative.
  15. Expect a Rovers win followed by a play off place. Cue the stooges sweating late at night in dark corners.
  16. I may be wrong but I have a feeling Gestede is going to be in the same mould as Steve Kean.
  17. Indeed. But shows their total lack of understaning not to mention will. There are various ways to approach that though, no? But essentially:- Rao’s way = spend nothing, club has to be totally self-financing = very hard to sustain if there is no family silver to sell off (unless we start talking fixed assets….) Many other club routes = speculate to accumulate ie you have to put in some cash with the view that you progress upwards. Ie a benign, interested, knowledgeable, efficient benefactor. This may mean running a deficit of varying degrees over several years. Does any club run totally self-sufficiently and totally profitably? Obviously, we all know the trick is to get the maximum return for the cash (ie. don’t to a Leeds under Ridsdale etc). The Raos are clueless in any event and thus we have the utter nonsense of the last 15 years.
  18. Probably wrong place but... ...Monday Night club on Radio 5 usually dull as ditchwater but quite interesting at the moment. Talking about Leicester. Chat about younger players who are knowledgeable about tactics/systems etc not wanting to obey Steve Cooper who wanted a little more ‘steel.’ Has moved on to prima donnas or player expectation and control –eg. you have to look after my dog if I come to the club etc.
  19. Sunderland poor. Still, you do what you gotta do and we did -efficiently. What was the average age of the Sunderland players -12? Love us to get in the play offs and win it (no chance) to see the reaction of the stooges and Raos.
  20. Think most on here feel that. It's always nice to see us play well and have a bit of a chant of 'cheerio' to cocky Millwall fans. But we all know the reality. After 15 years though...
  21. Don’t see this performance has got much to do with Ismael. Players self-respect, good pitch, contracts, shop window, dislike of Millwall, Brittain return, Ohashi fitter, Tronstad back to best, keeper. Still, highly enjoyable. Well done lads. Passing stuff worked a treat on a good pitch. Hyam and Baath just the job against rough and tumble Millwall. But you all know the drill. Summer transfer thread longer than Waggot’s Pinocchio statements, LET/Niko comments drivel, contracts not our fault but greedy players, £20 million a year don’t you know, rebuild, new mission, youth a priority (aka we ain’t putting in a penny), court case postponements, press and football authorities with worse vision/memory than Arsene Wenge ….. yada yada.
  22. You can't build anything on a house of cards or sand.
  23. Never seen someone gurn so much on post match interview.
