  1. Decent strikers are really a rare breed. Since we've gone down the only decent all round striker we've had has been Graham. Rhodes was a phenomenal poacher, Gestede amazing in the air, King a speed merchant and under used. But a striker who can score goals, knit the play together and defend from the front are like gold dust. A single decent striker can make such a huge difference. We really really need to find one.
  2. I guess what I'm saying is out number 10s are better than our strikers, so I would invest in strikers.
  3. I'd honestly say many managers would be be better at this point. He looks out of ideas and motivation.
  4. I'd rather sign a quality striker and get Holtby to provide than sign (yet another) number 10 and strive on with Gallagher/Brereton.
  5. Still need to roll I think.
  6. I sympathise with what your saying but I think we've got to the point where Mowbray can't take us any further forward. What's the point of sticking? We need to roll the dice.
  7. My diagnosis for what it's worth is that we definitely do not need to sign a Dack replacement in terms of an attacking mid. We've got Holtby and Rothwell. Make do with them. What we do need desperately is a striker who scores regularly, and two full backs and a keeper.
  8. I thought Armstrong was pretty good, always looked dangerous. Midfield passed it pretty well generally. Gallagher, Brereton however were both total wastes of space. Brereton absolutely and utterly shocking. Gallagher useful as a battering ram but offered no attacking threat. Bell was decent going forward but weak defensively (quel surprise...). Bennett generally poor. Keeper had a shocker with their second. I do hope this hastens To Mo Go.
  9. Tone about to take out best player by miles, Downing, off....
  10. Two decent full backs and a decent striker and we would be alright. I think we should just give Samuel a whirl as Gallagher is not going to score all year.
  11. Thank god. With a decent fisher on we could have scored 3 or 4. Surely we need Graham on at some point?
  12. Changes between right wing and playing up top alongside Gallagher. He can't trap the ball, he cant beat a player , he can't head the ball, he can't find a team mate with a pass, he can't find space on the box. I have never seen anyone so bereft.
  13. Also Brereton has to be taken off.
  14. Decent midfield play undone by horrendous defending and finishing. Bit of a pattern here. We really need full backs and a striker who actually can score.
  15. This is bizarre, defenders used the ball very well today I thought (defending diabolical though), and the mids. The issue firmly lay with the strikers offering very little.
  16. Very odd game... We totally dominated and should have won easily on territory and possession. After the 30th minute Forest let us have the ball over and over again, and we used it pretty well through the middle and out wide. That said in both boxes we were abysmal. All 3 of their goals were easily preventable. With better finishing they would have scored 5. In their box while we created chance after chance no one got on the end of them, or if they did they couldn't finish Downing apart. Sort of game which you would be disappointed by but take a lot of encouragement from early in a managers reign as you would see the poor defending and finishing as "fixable problems". But we've seen this so many times, and Mowbray does not seem to have an effective plan to remediate. Time to go To Mo.
  17. We look so much more threatening without Brereton on.
  18. We've had 67% of possession away from home...
  19. We've definitely played the best today since Bristol City in terms of all round play. We've actually been quite good in midfield. But then we defend abysmally and lack threat up front. Which is concerning.
  20. For the last half dozen games. Before that he was poor. Definitely need to find an alternative.
  21. Best player by miles today though.
  22. He's gone as far as he can I think. Same basic defensive and offensive issues have not been resolved despite significant investment and a decent amount of time.
