We got a decent deal, the lad gets a crack at the Prem along with all the boons that come with it & all the money we get goes into the Venky black hole never to be heard of again.

Being pressured to leave would be illegal and the lad could have taken legal action against whoever pressured him to leave. Truth is he was told a deal has been agreed and the club are happy for him to seek pastures new. No coercion, intimidation, threats or physical force. So no forcing him out at all.

No Championship club thrives 😆 that's the point. They equally have not gone into reverse. They are stagnant, which is how the Premier League want it. Championship clubs all feed the middle to bottom of the Premier League with talent or game time for thier kids to develop while hoping to be the next chosen one who makes a breakthrough via a knockout shot in the play-offs.

Ok did Coventry not sell Gyokeres? Boro not sell Spence? Birmingham not sell Bellingham? etc... Even the clubs that come down lose the top players, but I guess they all have no aspirations of promotion eh

With all due respect I doubt you thought Szmodics would be raising much 12 months ago either. You may not like it but all Championship clubs sell the better players on the books year on year if the Premier Leage come calling, it's the lay of the land in the Championship.

We do the same with Szmodics, Carter, Dolan, JRC... the cycle will continue until we make the breakthrough and get promoted.
