Chaddy, I like you are very disappointed it wasn't on and we can question if the ref was over cautious. However, how anyone can suggest the pitch doesn't have drainage issues is ridiculous. Stevie Wondee can see its a major issue. PNE probably shouldn't have gone ahead and 30 mins more rain and Huddersfield match would have been in danger.

I'm not a scientist but I did also wonder if the heat would help the water dry up. I'm not talking full on boiling and evaporate ofcourse but you'd thought it couldn't hurt drying the surface up.

Totally agree. I'm obviously glad it did go ahead in the end but it could have really gone against us. At the time it suited them more as they lumped it to Evans under Mcavoy. It hadn't really rained much for the days leading up to game. Then really heavy downpour few hours before KO and pitch can't cope. Got a feeling we may be here again unfortunately this season. I've never known the pitch hold water like this before. It's always been prone to it but never become waterlogged so easily before.

Had just got in ground and popped up to check the pitch. Looked fine from my vantage point but melting snow has probably waterlogged it. This is why I asked the initial question and I was very surprised by the confidence of others. I just couldn't understand where it came from. The top surface this year looks fine but lack of investment is obviously the reason the pitch doesn't drain properly. The groundsmen do an excellent job not on them at all. We've had similar in past due to no maintenance work on under soul heating. Now it's due to ignoring drainage. Any amount of rain/snow and the game is now in question.

Not sure whether to set of or not. From Lancaster usually set off just after 1. Want to sett off earlier and take it steady. But waiting for result of pitch inspection.

I was worried about this looking at the forecast for today. Just hope the pitch isn't under surface water. When rain stopped at half time in PNE match pitch was much better in 2nd half. We need rain/snow to stop before KO to allow it to drain. Fingers crossed.

Historically the bundle idea never really works. £15 quid for adults everywhere in ground £3 consesions for the Bournemouth and Blackpool games. If Waggott wanted to be a bit shady to our Dorset friends for unsettling Rothwell could even charge them £25. Put them in upper tier. No sales in upper tier of Blackburn end so doesn't have to be reciprocal price for home fans. Regarding sales for a playoff final, as a gesture free or very heavily subsidised coach travel would really help.

I'd like Dolan to get a start. His energy and pressing lifts the crowd and is infectious to rest of the team. All we can do is hope the goals come from somewhere. Perhaps its time to ditch the false 9 and play Gallagher up top and play Giles as a regular winger. The system can be tinkered with without changing from a back 3 and Travis the ball winner in midfield. Keep that base as a constant and can play varying permutations infront of it.

I admire your optimism. I'm not questioning the state of the playing surface. It's pretty good this season, all credit to the groundstaff. I'm more concerned about its ability to withstand a prolonged heavy downpour on matchday. It doesn't drain well and very quickly holds water.

Anyone concerned this might be called off. We've had a couple of matches close to being off this season, Preston in particular. If its heavy rain on match day I can't see pitch draining fast enough. Hope I'm wrong.

HI all. First time post but I have frequented this site every 10 mins or so far the last decade. Anyway, I agree we need more quality in centre midfield. I love Smallwood because of his attitude and work ethic but he should not be a starter in this league. We need to upgrade. I was gutted when we let Speedie go as part of the Shearer deal but look how that turned out.
