  1. I know he's not HSH so may be a no go from the off, but what about Mark Hughes? Ofcoursevwed have to pay Bradford. I'd love to see what he could do with this squad.
  2. I, like the many fans have had my fill of captain charisma now and want him gone. I am worried though that he ends up going to India, charming madam and ending up with a 5 year contract. Many people seem confident he is gone at the end of the season when his contract runs out. I hope this is not misplaced. If replacing him is the plan then a normal run club would have his replacement lined up by now. I worry that it drags on and God wiling we have a new face, they aren't able to plan properly before pre season.
  3. Just got home. Very long day, Lancaster to Reading and back. Just not good enough. Forget missed chances, the whole balance and set up of the team is way off it. No chance of the playoffs. I hope that TM is shown the door the second the playoffs are mathematically impossible. At this rate won't be long to wait. Needs freshening up for players and fans. New voice, new ideas.
  4. I wonder if Venus may have agreed with players who spoke up. It's widely known they have very differering opinions regarding how football should be played. Noticeable how anonymous on touchline TM was. If that is the case just walk now Tony. Does feel like something seismic occurred at HT.
  5. Mowbray looks like he's been booted in the knackers in the post match interview. So uninspiring and dour. You'd never know we had won buy his demeanour. Does suggest something went off at half time. He's probably gutted that his over complicated false 9 wide striker madness was questioned by senior players. Back 3 or flat back 4 not the issue. Playing with central forwards and players in natural positions is. He's so stubborn and infuriating.
  6. Posted this in other TM thread. Look at TMs record after Xmas at all the clubs he has managed. It's is shocking and it is not a coincidence. He never adapts or contemplates a plan B. By Jan, Feb if a team is going well they tend to have a set formation and style of play. This season ours has been to have less of ball and break at pace. Opposition managers have clearly worked us out. If they sit deep we have no space to utilise pace in behind. So wheres the plan B? We are predictable. He has consistently failed after Xmas. He is either blind to it, unable to solve the problem or too stubborn to consider finding another way. Probably a combination of the 3. Regarding Gallagher I feel for the lad. He's been working on protecting the full/wing back for 2 years instead of getting in the box. 10 mins up front here and there is not going to help him. Ps TM appears so stubborn and obviously is far wiser than us fans that I fear if we chant Dacks name when he warms up on touchline TM will probably leave him on bench just to show us who's the boss and keep us in our place.

  8. Definition of insanity....doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.
  9. Johnson had a great game. He's not going to drift past anyone like Rothwell and some of his passess can go astray. But he is only one physically able to win second balls. He played a very disciplined role, always vocal, kept us in a good shape when play breaks down. It's all about opinions I suppose.
  10. All this talk of formation change is doing my head in. We don't need a wholesale system change. We should keep the 3 at the back and travis infront as a constant. We can adapt around that solid base. I hate this false nine, wide forward rubbish. No point sending in crosses if no-one to get on end of them. Play 1 up top with 2 in behind. Problem is the only one up top is Gallagher.
  11. As gutting as it is, It would feel much worse if we had turned down £20 million for him in Jan.
  12. Get Human Leauge to change lyrics Thrys Dolan Babby Thyrs Dolan ooh. Sorry in advance
  13. Don't like talking about play off prices as I'm very superstitious when it comes to Rovers and it feels like tempting fate. But here goes, home leg should be £20 everywhere in ground and season ticket holders can buy a second ticket at £10.
  14. Really disappointed with this. I accept that it can't be better than season ticket/half season ticket holders but its not a considerable enough saving to entice anyone to consider it. Moreover, does this mean there is unlikely to be a one off very cheap ticket offer which historically does well? I hope it doesn't but suspect it will.
  15. I promised myself I'd stop commenting regarding the postponement now but I cannot agree with the above Chaddy. Firstly, the pitch at Elland Road today was holding water. But to the naked eye it looked fine, until a ball was kicked on it. The PNE game at Ewood was far worse as we know, and to the naked eye I couldnt see standing water but as soon as play began we all saw the issue. You are judging yesterday's pitch by looking at how green it looked no obvious puddles. The club is responsible for the game being called off because of the neglect of the pitch. Others in the northwest coped. Ours didn't. It's very easy to blame the ref but ultimately its on him if someone breaks a leg because of the state of the pitch. Ofcourse we have all played on worse but that's totally irrelevant. As I have previously said, with proper investment and care given to the pitch the ref should not have had a decision to make. I also don't buy all this freak weather rubbish. I asked question about possible postponement on Thursday cos I looked at the forecast. The pitch is an issue and that's totally on the club.
  16. Totally agree. I waited for confirmation match was on after inspection at 12.30 before driving in awful conditions from Lancaster with my daughter and Dad in car. A needless risk. I had no idea a second inspection was happening
  17. Brilliant preview. A point is far from a disaster. If we can keep it tight and nick a scrappy winner that would be perfect.
  18. The point is that if the pitch upkeep wasn't done on the cheap it would mean the pitch could cope with adverse weather, as all our local neighbours managed today. Then the ref wouldn't have a decision to make.
  19. Sorry darrenrover. Not trying to be a clever sod. I'm just intrigued where your misplaced certainty came from? We have huge issues with the pitch infrastructure.
  20. Chaddy, I like you are very disappointed it wasn't on and we can question if the ref was over cautious. However, how anyone can suggest the pitch doesn't have drainage issues is ridiculous. Stevie Wondee can see its a major issue. PNE probably shouldn't have gone ahead and 30 mins more rain and Huddersfield match would have been in danger.
  21. I'm not a scientist but I did also wonder if the heat would help the water dry up. I'm not talking full on boiling and evaporate ofcourse but you'd thought it couldn't hurt drying the surface up.
  22. Totally agree. I'm obviously glad it did go ahead in the end but it could have really gone against us. At the time it suited them more as they lumped it to Evans under Mcavoy. It hadn't really rained much for the days leading up to game. Then really heavy downpour few hours before KO and pitch can't cope. Got a feeling we may be here again unfortunately this season. I've never known the pitch hold water like this before. It's always been prone to it but never become waterlogged so easily before.
