Dunn at Burnley...

Someone has to, maybe we've got lucky. Very unlikely of course, but stranger things have happened.

All I want from this window now is a goalkeeper, and at least one (ideally two) centre back. If we sign Gallagher (or anyone else), fine but we need those 2 positions filling.

Playing Everton and Liverpool didn't seem to help us much last year.

I'd argue Tugay and Amoruso negate him nicely.- 304 replies

Every individual post now seems to have a tiny amount of 'scroll' on it instead of being fixed, making scrolling the page quite difficult. Samsung Galaxy A70, Android Pie -
Perhaps Lenny Johnrose? Taught in Blackburn. Ben Burgess also in teaching, but don't know where.

Christ, he could let goals in through those teeth!

Formation/tactics for next season

Could work as an overlap? Particularly if we do the same on the left with Downing (cross from deep) covering Bell bursting forward. -

I'll reiterate the effort from K-Hod and Tom. Being a mod kicked my arse at times. -

That logo is a beauty. Might be worth designing some retro 60s Rovers kits with it. -
@Scotland1 Any opinion? Scored 1 in 3 since being at Kilmarnock, who finished 3rd last year and seems a good 'inbetween' age at 23. Seems like a tidy target for, allegedly, just under £1m?
-
Well, no. He's merged into a potentially adequate Graham replacement.
-
Could it be we intend on giving Adam the Tugay role (mentoring Davenport), and Johnson the Savage role (mentoring Travis)? Not saying good or bad either way, but it's a thought, added to Downing mentoring Chapman. However, I admit I'm feeling rather less optimistic now that Darlow has been ruled out. Hopefully it means we have a Ruddy/Carson lined up.
-
Genuinely sorry to see him go, but I believe this is win/win if we replace well. He was stagnating here and was playing like a keeper with very little confidence after getting kicked in the face. No good to us like that, but a change of scenery and his countryman as GK coach will help him progress further than he would here imo. We're a team that need something closer to the finished article to progress imo.
-
Darlow's WORST Championship record is 1 clean sheet in 4 games, regularly getting 1 in 3 for Forest, and 2 in 5 for Newcastle in their promotion season.
-
My left one's James Westfall, and my right one's Dr. Kenneth Noisewater.

I remember them well, but none of them were Premier League quality performances, he just played well for a midtable Championship side. You say yourself he was 'okay' which I agree with, but hardly a ringing endorsement of PL quality in a Championship side. 'Better than Smallwood and Evans' also doesn't make him PL quality. Personally feel he COULD be PL quality but doesn't seem to have the hunger to regularly be Championship quality anymore.

Rodwell was by no means PL standard at any point last season! He was reasonable at best. Johnson helped Derby to the play-off final last year and is theoretically better than most other midfielders we have. Conway played a few games for us, replaced by someone who played over 30 games for a top half team. Reed, I'll give you that, but I'd argue Rodwell's lack of game time makes Johnson Reed's replacement. GK, I'll give you unless we replace with someone of the Darlow, Ruddy, Carson ilk. Downing... at least is 'replaced' by a youth centre back imo, but needs an upgrade.

...dammit!

I struggle to see how a striker who scored 11 goals can be seen as inadequate, given our current best striker scored only 12 in that same season. Given a run up front, under a decent manager, I'd expect him to score 15-20, rather like Graham.

Did someone run over your dog this morning or something?

Agreed there!
