  1. Finally caught up on AEW. That lashing segment was very uncomfortable and had me squirming, but holy moly what a fantastic bit of storytelling. I always knew Cody was talented, but he'd never be allowed to be that good in WWE. Although admittedly it must be easier to act hurt when you're being actually physically lashed...
  2. As Herbie said, tough man to please! And he idolised Dougie in particular.
  3. FWIW, my Dad tells me that in his opinion, 'Mr. Blackburn Rovers' is reserved only for those who completely commit themselves to, and sacrifice for, the club: Jack Walker Bob Crompton Tony Parkes I asked about Dougie and Clayton: 'Wonderful players, but no not quite.'
  4. No I wouldn't at all because he isn't a board member, which is the point of consultation. It's about the owners and the board. Tony (and I'm not a 'Tony Out' guy, I think he's great) is a distraction wheeled out to keep fans happy. The consultation meetings should be comprised of us holding the board to account, even having very uncomfortable conversations. I've been to these before and only the first one (threat of legal action from Coar, wasn't there?) was the only one that provoked a response from the board. The 2nd one where Cheston got thrown in as the fall guy for the Coyle fiasco was uncomfortable BUT was exactly the purpose of the meeting.
  5. Rather than all the January BS, has anything been said about ownership? Finances? Commerciality? Tony Parkes? Y'know, the actual agenda? We should reject Tony (or any manager) being part of these meetings, that's not what they should be! Should be board members and relevant members of staff. It's NOTHING to do with the playing side.
  6. Is it just me or has Raw been good-at-worst so far this year?
  7. Good job he's (I think) going in the HOF this year. I'd love it if they tried it in with naming the Riverside after him. Nobody deserves that recognition like Tony does. Mr. Blackburn Rovers
  8. Was Hoilett not 17?
  9. I think that's a touch harsh on Gallagher and Williams, and I'd be happy with Johnson and Chapman as bench options, but otherwise I agree. The players I'm highlighting are at least good enough for our bench if we can bring in players to take their 1st team spots.
  10. For Vince to dump 2 out of his 5 most trusted senior staff seemingly so suddenly, something severe must've happened?
  11. David Goodwillie did this trick. The legs went faster but he stayed the same speed. Derived from the old 'Scott Dann trick', where you jump but get shorter.
  12. It's pretty standard in such deals, but usually redundant. Remember most loans are to the benefit of the player (be it game time, fall-out, shop window, or development) for the same wage.
  13. On a whim, and only a whim, I'm thinking Ibe on loan, view to signing in Summer after his contract's up.
  14. I feel like he would, it's not like Cena needs to maintain a rep anymore. He's basically completed WWE's Mount Rushmore now.
  15. Nicholas Parsons has died now, aged 96. I shall offer my condolences without hesitation. Or indeed repetition or deviation.
  16. In light of Brock vs Drew, I'd like to see Riddle go over a Doctr of Thuganomics Cena at WM. Would really put over the Bro character on the mainstream imo.
  17. Looks like Riddle was jobbed out quickly in reaction to verbally squaring up to Lesnar backstage before the PPV started.
  18. Just finished Royal Rumble. Bloody loved the story they told in the men's, and the quality of the women's just showed how vital the NXT women's division is. Highlight of the night was when Keith Lee came out vs Brock. Brock responded: 'Wow. Big boy! Paul, who's this motherfucker?'
  19. Apparently Kobe Bryant has died in a helicopter crash, according to the BBC?
  20. Had they even cost £6m between them, I'd be considerably less annoyed at their goal returns.
  21. Been thinking about AEW and the potential midcard title they could have. I'd like to see a TV title that MUST be defended every week. When you've successfully defended the belt for, say, 8 weeks running, you get a guaranteed AEW title match. At that point, you MUST vacate the TV title, which is then competed for by the 2 wrestlers with best win-loss record for the length of the last reign. This way AEW have a chance to strap rockets on people to the AEW title within 8-9 weeks if they so wish (like a Royal Rumble winner), while also giving the midcard something constant to compete for (win-loss record matters). I'd also add a stip whereby anyone losing the AEW title cannot compete for it for # weeks, meaning they have to earn their shot again, just like anyone else. I'd also recycle the 'King of the Ring' gimmick into their own tournament idea, having regular #1 contender tournaments for the AEW title twice a year. Good/bad idea?
  22. You've conflated climate change with resources there. Unless you're saying you don't believe we're using oil and coal at a faster rate than is made available? Electrification of vehicles is much more about transitioning to sustainable wind, solar, hydroelectric, and nuclear generation than it is about emission. Edit- sorry meant to multi quote the others into this post, not picking on you OEB.
  23. Caught up on the latest AEW Dynamite. Imagine walking through a crowd on YOUR cruise, that's singing along to YOUR theme song , which is a rock song YOU wrote, while YOU'RE World Champion. Chris Jericho has reached a whole new level of 'made it'. Greatest wrestler of all time imo.
  24. I might be remembering it wrong, but I thought he got quite a lot of game time under Mowbray but proved frustrating. I feel like he kicked off at lack of automatic starts and took the pay rise on the bench of a PL club instead of working hard. He's not exactly done much since he left. Maybe I'm being harsh though.
  25. Equally, he could've moved at any point in the following decade, but never did.
