  1. I think that print would’ve worked on the green kit (which I like, and reflects the colours of the town badge). In this, it doesn’t work imo. Would’ve been better to have in subtle font the names of the greats who have played for our club instead of copy/paste landmark pictures.
  2. They were extensively scouted by a tried and trusted scouting team with Premier League experience and knowledge. Their cost was not the reason they were bought but their potential ability. The current incomings appear to be scouted based on what we can spend and what their FootballManager ratings are by a scouting team that hasn’t remained intact for longer than 6 months since Covid.
  3. Seriously, all any new owner would have to do initially is get rid of these bullshit charges, and introduce a ‘new era’ ST of £250 all over the ground. Just be the antithesis of Venky Rovers re: actual engagement with fans. The money/investment wouldn’t matter half as much with competent ownership.
  4. Just watch it all go to cock.
  5. My dad played in a charity friendly of some sort in the late 90s, I think it was something to do with the PFA as I remember him saying Gordon Taylor was involved. Dad is about 10 years older than Robertson but could outrun him easily. ’The problem I had was that Robertson slowed you down to his level so you couldn’t actually run anywhere, almost froze you to the spot. Then he’d suddenly grab a yard past you and put a ball in with either foot. And that ball ALWAYS went to his striker, made you feel a right mug being beaten by a guy who couldn’t tackle a good fish supper, but what magical feet.’ My dad also regarded Robertson as the best player in Europe for a good 4/5years when Clough and Taylor were at Forest.
  6. I don’t think Brittain (or Sammie come to think of it) refused to play, did they? They just asked (not demanded) to be allowed to speak to other clubs instead of playing and were granted it. Happens more often than you’d think tbh. But I do agree IF it was an outright ‘refusal’ to play despite the manager’s wishes, then yes that crosses ‘the Gestede line’.
  7. But you do need one to rule out re-injury.
  8. WTF is this club playing at? Braindead the lot of them.
  9. Baradji seems to be an ‘engine room’ powerful marauding athletic type, like Steven Reid.
  10. Whoever joked about it being from Yverdon Sports should have a prize!
  11. Difference being he had fallen out with his manager and had just been regularly playing in the Europa League for Vitesse.
  12. I’d argue we didn’t even want Forshaw, given we actively released him.
  13. Disagree entirely. Lowe getting out is a HUGE positive. Rumours he was fired and rehired in a shady way around the time Lambert was around.
  14. It’s info or knowledge that everyone has. Just look at the wages other clubs pay compared to us, and look at the players we get linked with who turn up elsewhere. Or the number of times it has been reported in the last 3 years that we’ve made an offer to a player and then low-balled them when they arrive to sign their contract. It’s not a mystery.
  15. As much as I have enjoyed some of the recent kits, I can’t bring myself to buy one. It’s actually not to do with my Venky-hatred, but affordability. As K-Hod said earlier, £60 for a football shirt is mental. I have spent less (very often half the price) purchasing better-fitting shirts made from better quality fabrics, that are genuinely wearable in non-sport settings. All from this site, or from FootballTown or from various retro-kit sites.
  16. Yeah, THAT’S what’s unacceptable, not the bog standard kit or the way our club’s name is being dragged through elephant shit in international news outlets…
  17. To any journo worth their salt (which is the whole problem), that is a story in itself.
  18. Ormskirk is nearly the halfway point between Brockhall and Wrexham…
  19. I’ve said before from my time in the Trust, in addition to those who made public offers (The two Ian’s, and the Qataris), there are at least 4 potential owners (I believe all are consortia) who had maintained an interest from when they first privately engaged Venkys up to at least the point I left the Trust a couple of years ago. That means they were still interested during our L1 season. Nobody should underestimate the appeal to new potential owners of the ‘kudos’ of ‘taking a founding member of the FL and PL back to the top’. It holds real appeal for those people that can afford to play Football Manager in real life. But it continues to beg the questions: Why does that not appeal to Venkys? Why do they not sell or seek external investment? What is in it for them to cling to our carcass?
  20. Now that I’ve paid attention to the source of the figures, could Rachel Dugdale have based her figure on the fact Venkys London Limited costs (year to 31/3/24) were £43 million?
  21. Fair point actually. Although that does just remind me what a shitshow Venkys have reduced us to 😕
  22. You think £6.4m isn’t realistic? If we include events since those accounts were finalised, including the sacking of two managers and a DOF, as well as multiple backroom staff, and around £1.8-2m in agent fees alone, then I think we could hit that additional figure reasonably quickly.
  23. We do accept it, but you keep using it as some sort of brag. Prioritising Rovers games over literally everything isn’t the flex you think it is.
  24. Girls who rejected City, Everton, and Chelsea pathways for Rovers (including two who did so purely for their love of Rovers) have been badly let down. I don’t like what our club has become at all.
