  1. Exactly this. Has the same feeling for me as Elliott Bennett, who at least has the bonus trivia of being the only Rovers player to have 4 lots of double-letters in his name.
  2. I’ve said to you before, that argument means Jason Lowe should never have played below Championship level. He made his debut in the PL and was picked regularly by 7 different managers.
  3. Completely agreed. But I wouldn’t think it weird to watch Madrid games and hope he wins or for younger fans to buy Bellingham Madrid shirts.
  4. I still don’t get it. Part of loving football is idolising players. I have R9, Ronaldinho, Zidane, and Buffon shirts from when I was a lad. I also have Duff and Friedel international shirts. Don’t see anything odd about it. I sort of get why the Palace Wharton shirt might be odd, but when it’s one of our own, I can easily accept a 12yo idolising them wherever they go in addition to his love of Rovers.
  5. I’ll have to break it to my Rovers-mad nephew that having 3 ‘Wharton’ shirts (Rovers, England, and Palace) that he’s ‘tinpot’, ‘a bit cringe’, ‘not a real fan’, and whatever other nonsense is being said. There is nothing wrong with following a player’s career and wishing them every success. Idolising a local lad and fellow fan, is just fine. In fact, I would argue it’s something admirable that has been lost from real football fandom, rather than something to be derided. Hellfire, we had a decent circle jerk about Raya performing superbly against Real Madrid in the Champions League semi only a couple of weeks ago and nobody started lashing out at other fans for that. And Raya’s neither a local nor a fan. I’d be interested to know that long list of talented academy products who were alleged Rovers fans that went on to do better than Rovers. I can think of Phil Jones, and… Well maybe Dunny, but he was established and moved sideways. Derbyshire? Gally? Who else? Nobody on Wharton’s level, that’s for sure, and nobody that went up the ladder so easily.
  6. Especially given their record of reasonably serviceable keepers prior to Rays, with Jake Keane and Frankie Fielding.
  7. So we’re going to pay three people to do the job of one?
  8. Is that relevant? Our ladies team has a fantastic legacy of producing international standard players, and acts as a beacon for young girls to play professionally. It also, crucially, provides a career path for aspiring girls who wish to be sportswomen and helps get some of these girls into some of the best sporting colleges in America. It isn’t just about watching BUT women’s football is seeing a rising tide of support. No surprise that our owners don’t see any value in what others do.
  9. Zac Carroll was taken ill 3 weeks ago with an aortic tear. Despite multiple life-saving operations, he deteriorated and never woke up from the coma he was put under. He sadly died yesterday afternoon, didn’t make it to 40. A gentle giant, and a family man through and through. His wife and 5yo child now have a funeral to plan and a life without their husband and father. If you can help, please do. Little amounts add up. https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/victoria-szabo?utm_medium=CR&utm_source=CL

  10. Can you guys set up on BlueSky too?
  11. Only three years ago the England Women’s Team won the Euros thanks in large part to a goal set up, assisted, and scored by three Blackburn girls. Yet another legacy the club are happy to ruin, after having no problem with briefly getting on the bandwagon. @glen9mullan is the Coalition reaching out to Toone, Walsh, and Stanway?
  12. Must be. The season they rocked up, we had an average attendance of 20k+ and the highest prices ST in the BBE was £199. Funny that.
  13. Have to say, of those I’ve met, Duncan and K-Hod are exactly who we need on the fans forum. Both passionate and not afraid to ask the hard questions and do so doggedly.
  14. Currently only with Fans Forum (selected by the club and fellow attendees), and WATR (which doesn’t represent the wider fanbase, only its members). The more open 6-monthly meetings that became reasonably regular pre-COVID are the minimum imo.
  15. I hope he has the foresight to do other qualifications while trying to recover. A career in football is easy to get at his age if you want one.
  16. So managers are always right and fans opinions are always irrelevant? 6 different managers persistently picked Jason Lowe over a 4 year spell spanning Premier League and Championship. So obviously, Lowe was one of the best players at the club in that time, right?
  17. That Sabino chap doesn’t half like downvoting criticism of Venkys, Pasha, or Sufi. Funny that.
  18. As ever, a sabotaged January window has cost us. Players have given their all for the season, but let down by the men at the top: Venkys Out. Pasha Out. Waggott Out. Gestede Out.
  19. I’m as frustrated as you are, and I’m sure @K-Hod is too. But it isn’t in any way his fault or the fault of any fan that attends.
  20. Bit unfair on @K-Hod as well as other BRFCS members for folk to keep asking him to breach trust and be taken off the forum leaving BRFCS without a formal representation on the fans forum imo.
  21. I think PNE (like us) will always have the history angle, players like reflected glory and will be willing to sign for them. I wouldn’t bet on them getting stuck in L1.
  22. @Herbie6590 Turn this into an article, it’s brilliant.
  23. In honour of 150 years: £15 per ticket, pie and peas in the hospitality lounges. £1.50 big screen on the pitch, fill the JW Stand
