  1. Can I just butt in here and ask that we don’t accuse posters of being ‘club plants’ just for having a contrasting opinion please. I get many of us are frustrated about the transfer window and club as a whole for various reasons, but many are not and simply want to support the team while engaging with other fans.
  2. I worked at Asda once as a temp over Christmas when I was a supply teacher (extra money in holidays). They questioned ‘who the fuck do you think you are, leaving us in the lurch after all the training (how to use a till… for two weeks) we’ve given you’? Lovely bunch.
  3. Adam Wharton about a month before we sold him.
  4. Wish I could, I was stupid enough to click onto something else. I’d be very disappointed if that’s actually Lyndsey.
  5. That ‘Privy’ account has lost its marbles at Josh 🤣
  6. The only interesting thing about this player is you can say those three names in any order and he sounds like a disgraced firm of solicitors.
  7. The Football Manager game analogy is perfect. Sell the old guard in one feel swoop and replace them with mainly fast or tall or athletic players in the hope of breaking the game engine.
  8. When I was told about that around the time Waggott left, I was told it was a verbal agreement between Rovers (Waggott) and Adidas/Gary Aspen himself. When Rovers (I would guess Pasha?) kaboshed it, I supposed it broke the proverbial straw with Waggott because he resigned about 2 weeks later.
  9. …that mediocrity can pay to greatness.
  10. Should now be going all out for a cb and midfielder on loan/free I’d like to see us try for Browne and a returning James Hill.
  11. I absolutely reckon that JDT/Broughton/Wharton could’ve been a perfect storm for promotion if they’d had the backing Mowbray had.
  12. Had Venkys backed JDT, I feel we just might have 😭
  13. I have never been able to fault the quality of BRFCS shirts. I can’t wait for this one.
  14. This following pages of Lesley Fielding being described as a snake, too. The pertinent point that people are choosing to ignore is that competent and qualified people are thankful and/or relieved to get out of Rovers.
  15. Any Potter fans (Rowling’s views notwithstanding) on here? Getting more and more news about HBO turning the books into a TV series, and surely keeping to the accuracy of the books much better than the films did. I know there’s a kerfuffle over Snape being cast as black, but black people can appear pale or pallid or sallow (the only colour-based words used to refer to Snape’s skin) too. He’s never specifically referred to as having white skin.
  16. But you didn’t say his name, so…
  17. It’s not the quality of job he’s doing that bothers me. It’s the persistent stench of Kean and Kentaro 16 years later.
  18. I’m going to half-hold my hands up here. The addition of our long-term target (Baradji) and seemingly a major piece of our jigsaw (Morishita) has started to make this window overall quite an exciting one. Only two things would tip it above 8/10 for me: Forshaw out in favour of Travis (I know that won’t happen). Bring in a striker worthy of the name. I feel like we have otherwise answered many of our problems either with competition, adequate replacements or actual improvements. The irony that it is pretty much the model Broughton and JDT wanted to implement, albeit with a different style. With ALL of that being said, I cannot get excited because we’ll throw it all away after Christmas as we have done now for three successive years. Venkys Out. Pasha Out. Gestede Out.
  19. In fairness to Waggott (that made me feel sick 🤢) the huge increase appears to have been something to do with deferring his pension payments during COVID. Or something like that, I’m sure someone more financially literate than me can explain.
  20. If those Serie A sides were Cremonese or Pisa…
  21. Mowbray got a lot of credit there for walking before he could be sacked. I think I even used it myself as a positive for when he was employed here. Then he clung like a bad smell til the end of his contract, when he really should’ve left about a year earlier. Then again he wasn’t the problem for us. Never was. Just a symptom.
  22. What a difference from the first game of the season vs Swansea in (I think) 2021-22. I really thought Buckley (in the ‘Rothwell’ role) and Dolan (up front) were going to develop into PL quality players, they were both superb that day.
  23. There is no suitable context that excuses chanting that name at a football match.
