Does anyone have any inside infromation on who is actually in the running for the job? It seems both Farke and Carvahal have gone so is it just Gareth Ainsworth left in the race?
No every journo I've asked said ferguson talk was rubbish, I'm hoping the Warne link is true @unleaded is there any news

The noises I've been hearing were that we'd be looking to speak to people who were in work this week so there might be something in it.
What would people's thoughts be on this?
Good manager worked wonders on a very limited budget, superb man manager

What makes you think he isn’t?

I Don’t drink. I just think he’s our guy! I want a manager with passion and I’m sick of the soft underbelly of that squad…
How do you know ferguson is a task master, Ferguson’ a on-field persona of what 20 years ago. If he was such a class coach he would have had an effect on an underachieving everton

If Big Dunc’s good enough for Carlo, he’s good enough for me!! Do the deal I say!
Makes you wonder why he didn’t do that for the everton job for him….

An interesting one!
Some journalists saying he's about to be appointed and Nicko saying he hasn't even been spoken to!
For what it's worth, I've been saying for some time the interest in Ferguson was real and strong and I challenged a number of posters on this MB who perhaps have some knowledge of proceedings at Ewood to come out and say Ferguson has not been interviewed - not one did.
If Ferguson and Rovers have been in discussions, does anyone really think Ferguson or folk around him or who know him (like Myers) will come out and confirm!?
There must be something in it but then again every journo I’ve asked have said it’s not him. I think the sporting director appointment will be interesting id love to know whose leaking about ferguson

Nicko is catching up!
This happened some two weeks ago.
Now you know some of the 'heavyweight' support behind Ferguson.
Nixon said about 2 hours ago ferguson hasn’t been spoken to and the process is a mess. Wonder if ferguson is being foisted upon us another outstanding candidate….

When I asked myers about ferguson he said he could be ok, but would need to bring a tactics coach in to help

A few absolutely adamant it’s a done deal with ferguson, @unleadedis there any other updates ?

If I had known the best other option was Duncan Ferguson I wouldn’t have been complaining about Mowbray for the past 3 years.
Same I’d have been on the Mowbray in forever bus 😂😂🤮

Facebook brigade all over ferguson coming in, I think he’d be the final straw for me. He’s a thug I can’t get behind that in anyway shape or form

At this point I feel like the best result they can come up with would be Friedel and Ainsworth.

Looking more and more like Ainsworth - if he wanted the poison chalice!
It’s looking more like woodgate or Grayson cheap and desperate options as usual

I've always thought that as otherwise its a nonsense he and benson are kept on

Clearly if there isn't enough in the budget to finance first team backroom staff, the transfer budget will also be non existent.
It is so frustrating under this lot. Yet so predictable.
Same old story with every appointment they new learn

So Waggot declined Venkys man Farke.
Is there a massive power struggle going on here?
No they’d sack him it’s more that farke wants the monchengladbach job

The point I was making was that McCarthy is considered yesterday's man, yet it is 6 years since Pardew did anything of decent quality in football at Palace in the Prem. McCarthy in that time has overachieved with Ipswich, did well with Ireland and initially well with Cardiff before the wheels fell off.
Just to be clear I'm not suggesting McCarthy should get it, just that if we are considering the likes of Pardew then it would be easier, cheaper and probably safer to go with someone like him who at least has done something in this division in recent times.
we don't even know if he is in the running, whilst not being the most inspiring he would be better than Ferguson, Unsworth etc. I would be very surprised if he is in the running, especially if the club have already whittled the list down

Won the Championship twice, no?
His time has passed, but doing the fella a disservice there…
thats my point how long are we going back Wolves in 2008, he's not done much of note since really ipswich stagnated, he got sacked at Cardiff, maybe 2006 McCarthy
Which utterly brilliant manager will we be delighted to welcome next?
