Yet again failing to close down a midfielder costs us dearly WE all know about TCs left foot so why didn’t the players? With the strength of our forward players we didn’t even manage a shot in target did we ?
It's pathetic. Professional footballers and they didn't know.

“That’s football,” Mowbray said of allowing Mulgrew to leave and Lenihan picking up an injury.
“It’s early season, I don’t think central defence was a problem.
“I thought they applied themselves well.
“They all need to develop relationships and when Lenihan gets himself fit and comes back then he will have to compete to get in the team.”
Bloody hell, sounds like Del is now first choice CB even when Lenihan returns from injury!
As expected from TM

According to TM the game plan worked.
God help us when his plan does not work.

In Mowbray’s defence... (not that he has one)...
this referee is bloody awful.
Sorry Stuart he's guilty of not fixing the defense.

He's lost it. Get rid.

We've lost a lot of ground under Mowbray this summer. Decades from achieving a successful championship side.

I wonder what the Derby manager , thinks about Rooney coming to the club ???
Cannot see him being to pleased , this could well implode on Derby !
Also wonder what the EFL make of it. If Derby are legitimately bending FFP regulations fair play to their management team but from what we read and the relationship with betting the story stinks.

I'm inclined to agreeiton Bell, he looks like a nervous wreck all game and I'd have no confidence spraying a pass out wide to him at all.
The look Downing gave him for a bad pass Said It IT All!

Mowbray :"We came away with a defeat because of our inability to deal with a corner..."
No mention of Bennett giving the ball away then darting diagonal across the pitch in order to correct his error which resulted in Charton's opening goal.

Comparisons to Kean are crazy.
We’ve been crying out for stability. We have some. Changing the manager now would be a disaster.
So do we wait until December when we are bottom of the league.
Did you go today?

Maybe he thought of himself as a tricky left winger or something and being played out of position by the manager was the making of him. Or something weird like that.
There has to be a reason why he thinks Bennett is a right back, Gallagher is a right winger and Rothwell/BB/Nyambe are all benchwarmers.
Mowbray turned this club around and deserves enormous credit. He really was the right man for the job. Football moves on, though. He had an absolute stinker today.
Bennett was the first player on Mowbray's team sheet. Why? Because of his enthusiasm and his ability in Mowbray's eyes to run all over the pitch.
Football managers need to move on. He got us back into the Championship with the team spirit he built but made the mistake in asking players to perform at a higher level. His team selection & transfer windows ability are now weak. Times right now for Mowbray to go.

1) No creativity. Too money back passing.
2) No bite or commitment. In first half we had the edge until the final third.
3) Don't want to see Bennett or Bell in the team again. Neither are good enough at this level and TM has failed to address a two year old problem. Bell is far too slow and Bennett has the enthusiasm but not the brain.
4) How many shots? 1 from Bell. What on earth do the practice in training.
5) Dack......was he playing?
5) We need a new manager who will blast the talents we do have into playing constructive football. TM has done all he can at Rovers.

I do wonder if some posters have ever played sport at any type of competitive level if they think the best thing to do would be drop Tosin into the starting 11 Saturday. Talk about setting a young lad up to fail.
Agree.
Nothing to do with this thread but just listened to Sports Report on radio lancashire. Not a word about Adarabaiyo. What a crap radio station we have......rant over.

Sadly whoever is in charge of negotiations be it Mowbray, Venus or Waggott it seems that they have had a very bad window and failed to convince multiple targets to join.
Although you would need to know the full story of each to be sure. Window doesn't close until 08/08/19 and its not just the individual players Rovers are talking to, these are business deals.

Not to be that guy but seeing is believing. Until any defender is revealed I can't personally buy into any links. Feels like a case of oh look what you could have had but we've still got plenty of midfielders and forwards to show off.
Can understand you being a doubting Tom but we are getting desperate now and any news on this transfer thread is welcome. Sharpe thinks there could be something in this one.

I think that will be the team except for the full backs. I'm pretty convinced now it will be Downing LB and Bennett RB.
Bennett starting is a no brainer, TM will build the team around him. If Brereton is on fire he has to start and this will boost his confidence. The big concern is at the back but who ever we sign it'll be too late for this game.

Club under Venkeys isn't big enough for a DoF. No budget. Also TM wouldn't want a decision maker.
