  1. If we have 4 players joining then i would hope that Nuttal, Travis, Fisher and Tomlinson head out on Loan.
  2. I am not too concerned about that. You have Raya, Nyambe who have established themselves, Nuttal who has been given chances. Travis has never played a full season of football, I would like to see him at a League One club playing 40+ games and see where his development goes
  3. I also think we need to get Nyambe signed up! If I am not mistaken it is his last year of contract
  4. Palmer is a great signing saw him regularly at Hudders one to watch!
  5. I agree with you 100% it wasn't meant to sound like a holier than thou stance, more of an encouragement. The last 8+ years under Venky's has been horrible. We have experiences very little high moment. Currently the mood is positive and i would love that to contiunue. However, I am desperate to avoid a situation where fans turn on each other again, and start resenting Rovers when there is still time
  6. Some of the over reaction from the lack of transfers is incredible. We still have plenty of time before the window closes, the amount of people who just want a signing to have a signing is crazy. I am delighted to see my club not spend 8M on someone like Martyn Waghorn i mean seriously! Reality is whether we have rich owners or not means nothing. Venky's has stated over and over that they want us to be self-sufficient (Ironically this was the model we had prior to their purchase). However, the reality is we are in a position first season back in the championship, it has changed dramatically since we left it, and therefore anything other than survival in this league must be a priority. Mowbray has earned my trust, he has earned my patience, and I will give him until the end of the Transfer and Loan window before making my mind up. Lots is going behind the scene I am actually impressed with the professionalism from ROvers of not having leaks here and there. Take 5 minutes go and have a cigarette and pint to calm down...
  7. Slowly but surely Rovers are going about there work in a calm and discreet manner. Coming to show that our trust and patience are being rewarded. We won't always get it right no one does however, i am far happier with the way we have conducted ourselves under Mowbray than any other manager. On to the new season!
  8. I think the reality is we don't have an large pile of cash and therefore we must must must be clever with it. I don't Bauer is the be all end all I would be happy to see Wharton given a chance as 4th back up. I would like to see 2 strikers in. Armstrong and Gallagher as my preference with options to buy. Maddison would be a marquee signing with the stats that he has. And Chapman would be the cherry on the cake
  9. For me definitely inflated market when quoting 2m for Bauer who hasn't achieved much in his career it is cheeky. He should be worth 700k not more. I am all for spending money but I has to be right. I would argue our squad is about the same bar the striker situation it is pretty much the same. Chapman and Payne barely played the one we are missing is Armstrong. Antonsson i wouldn't want back, and our midfield is actually stronger in my eyes
  10. What has been told to date was that Mowbray would not be held ransom to an overflated transfer market. As it stand our squad is good enough to stay up and that is all I want to see this year. Progress with an extra year of experience under our belt and some good hungry players. There are some exciting players being mentioned with the likes of Gallagher, Armstrong, Chapman, Maddison, even if we got half of them we would have a seriously good looking squad on our hands!
  11. Patience is a virtue. We have no idea what the outcome will be...I would rather get a player at the right price rather than over pay in an inflated market. We do not have cash to burn
  12. I may someone who is pragmatic and patient but I find people want a quick fix of signing a player for the simple tick box exercise of signing a player. We have made 2 signings so far more than most in the championship so far. We have names linked but we knew nothing about rothwell or davenport signing. We could a few hours or days away from a signing no one really knows. We patience is key season and it already seems some patience has already run out before the first kick of the ball. Since when has all journalist articles become the gospel the amount of fake news stories out there created by agents is insane. Fundementally none of us know who we will end up with but we have made a start and have also have he loan market open until end of august. Realistically or squad will probably very different than what it is today right now! So breath and chill you may be pleasantly surprised but at least wait until September before panicking!
  13. Love the optimism but I think we need to enjoy this year. Consolidating our status must be the priority and build on the positivity. We can't overshoot and expect things and rush things. With that squad while we could go up we would head straight back down from the PL. We need to build a squad that is ready and good to go to handle the PL and build on it when we head up. I would be happy to see our young team develop and move in the right direction.
  14. Good winger i would be happy with him and Edwards. Sell off Whittingham, Caddis, Gladwin. I think it would be fantastic additions to the team and better than what we have.
  15. As much as I would like Kemar Roofe I think he is way out of our price range. However, Marcus Maddison now that is an interesting name that could be just as lethal! Hoping that we can get Caddis, Whittingham, Gladwin out and send Hart, Nuttal, Platt on loan. Onwards and upwards! Exciting times, and glad to see our first signing across the line. Rothwell ins't a shabby signing but it is a very much wait and see how he develops i won't be one to pass judgement without seeing him play. First impressions is that he will fit right into the team spirit which is key for me!
  16. To be honest with all this talk about transfer I think there are some cracking signing to be made in the lower leagues. From Marcus Maddison, Kieffer Moore, Jordan Willis, all would make fantastic additions. Get Armstrong on Loan and some added bite to the midfield i would be pretty chuffed.
  17. Absolutely agreed, but currently we have a team of grafters with some talented football players. The most important for me this year is to stay in the Championship and stabilise and slowly acquire a team that can push. I am aware we need quality but I would much rather avoid a Ravel Morrison, Leon Best, Dickson Etuhu, Danny Murphy situation where they were all technically fantastic players but attitude was rotten to the core. I agree with Mowbray we need the right character in who has the right talent. Successful clubs have always spoken about the unity of the team, we have that now and we need to continue on in that direction and make the right signing at the right time.
  18. I would argue differently. Quality and Character must go hand in hand. Too many times we have signed perceived quality signings whose character ruined squad atmosphere. Fundamentally this is a team sport not just an individual one. I would much rather see a typical fighting spirited Blackburn Rovers with everyone working for each other.
  19. I think so far we are in a good place. I understand Conway contract and I don't think people should be up in arms about it. We talk regularly in football that you need characters, locker room leaders, etc...I see Conway professionliasm and behind the scenes contribution even more important than his influence on the pitch. So I am glad he gets to stay. with regard to signing if we look at the championship so far, very few clubs have been super active. So this god right of deserving to sign a player by now is nonsense. Wait for the right opportunity and take it from there. I would actually consider Tommie Hoban back as Mowbray has shown he can manage injury prone players like Mulgrew. He would be a good signing and not super pricey. I do like Chapman so I would be delighted To get Chapman back on loan. Overall I do think we need 1CB, 1 Creative Midfielder, 1Winger, 1 Defensive Mid, and a Striker
  20. I think a bit of both. Unfortunately I see us as the Sunderland of the Championship. What I mean by that is no club in the UK has gone through what we have in the last 7 years. We have had a losing mentality across all this period of time. I think more importantly we need someone who can actually slowly breed confidence and create a long term strategy. Bowyer did stabilise the boat but we still had a large influx and outflux of players. Right now this club needs stability more than anything. Are our results anything to brag about? No. But I am conscious win our two games in hand we are just 5 or 6 points behind the leaders and back in the play which isn't horrible. We will grow and get stronger as time goes by.
  21. Thought I would put this here but anyone looking for some positive news to brighten there day I can confirm that Steve Kean is struggling in the S League and has 4 points in 11 games. http://www.sleague.com/competitions/s-league/table
  22. We can't allow him to go. We have the manager the fans are backing keep him in place for the love of god.
  23. All I can say is Thank You TM. You gave you are all, you gave us hope, please god I hope you stay on.
  24. For the record if I am not mistaken but isn't our record against Villa been awful in recent years?
  25. Tomorrow is a huge game between two dysfunctional sides at different ends of the table. It will be interesting to see how we line up. I am not holding my breath for the right result. Unfortunately the damage was done under Coyle. Had we had Mowbray across the whole season we would have been safe by a mile as the loses we had under Coyle would have turned into draws under Mowbray. Tomorrow I would go with players who care and who will fight for the cause and who don't over complicate. --------------Raya-------- Nyambe---Hoban--Lenihan---Williams Mahoney--Lowe--Mulgrew--Bennett ---------Gallagher---Graham------- COYB
