  1. Wasn't a pay to play appearance contract if i am not mistaken?
  2. Lower than getting relegated to League One? Lower than Steve Kean as manager? I think there are some short term memories.
  3. A bit drastic for someone who took over from Coyle and has taken us to a far better position. I agree with a new voice, but to that level of anger is absolutely bamboozling
  4. Been thinking a bit about the Mowbray situation these last few weeks and i kind of see it as situation very similar to Spurs with Poch. My disappointment for the poor results recently has evaporated a little. I think it is a little to early to call for his head as i do believe while performances haven't been great and neither results. The games against Barnsley and a few other lower-ranked teams is when you learn whether he still has the players backing. I do think it is a little harsh to put the entire blame on him as i think some of the players have let themselves down in your Johnson, Gallagher (though he is being played out of position), and a few injury problems haven't helped either. I think our attack is looking strong even though we aren't scoring enough, I think many clubs would love to have the likes of Armstrong, Gallagher, Graham, Brereton who i all think can have a impact. The biggest issue for me is Left back, CB and having a strong ball winning midfielder. If our time with Mowbray does come to end then i will be very very thankful for everything he has done. I think he came into a thankless task, but at the end of the day he came provided stability, and has left us in a better position today than when he took over which is the only thing you can hope for when you have a new manager. After these string of games if things haven't improved then i think a new voice is needed but I will forever have a fond memory of Tony Mowbray.
  5. I think we need a new system for the team and i would like to see us try a good old 4 1 2 1 2 which i think could work quite well for us. Would love to see: ---------------------Walton----------------- Bennett---Lenihan--Tosin---Cunningham (If not fit Williams) -------------------Travis------------------------ ----------Johnson----Holtby----------------- ------------------Dack---------------------- --------Gallagher-------Armstrong------- I think Gallagher size and heading winning capability with Armstrong speed could be a great combo!
  6. I think the difficult thing i have come to realise for this is the following. Do i believe the overall strength of the team has improved? I would say on paper yes, however, behind the scenes i think this very much a year of transition unlike last year, which for me was always a year of consolidation. While we talk about ambitions and finishing top 6 (rightfully so, you want to aim for as high as you can in life), with the recent talk changing our style of play to a possession attacking base football then there is no way i expect us to event be top 10. With a new system that need to be put in place with various new signings on top that the squad as a whole will need time as i expect to give it that. Yes, Mowbray can be absolutely infuriating with playing certain players out of position like Bennett at RB. But has he taking us as far as he can? I am not sure yet. I am happy of the fact I do believe we have a man in charge with the club at the heart of his decision rather than Kean or any other numpty who we had. Yes we would all like to be in the Premiership but by not right do we deserve yet. I think should finish mid table again this year, that is alright we need Gallagher, Brereton, Travis, Nyambe to make the step up now and show that they are the core of our team. I do agree we cannot rely on an aging Downing and Graham consistently either. VS Boro i do expect a defeat they are a very good team, but a draw would be a good result.
  7. Happy to throw in my name for new manager of Rovers haha
  8. For me the team should pick itself tomorrow. Nyambe had a very good AFCON so please just start him. Give Bennett a little rest. ----------------------------Walton------------ Nyambe-------Lenihan-----Tosin------Cunningham (FINALLY A LB) ----------Johnson-------Travis--------------- Armstrong---------Dack-----------Rothwell ----------------Gallagher----------------------
  9. sorry nottingham! Getting my red teams muddled up!
  10. https://www.skysports.com/transfer-centre
  11. Linked with Darlow, Great keeper loved him from his time at Charlton sign.....him.....up!!!!!
  12. Why is everyone suddenly saying we have an old squad... Lenihan, Nyambe, Chapman, Nuttall, Armstrong, Brereton, Davenport, Bell, Travis, we have far more younger players than older. It is important to have a good mix. Gallagher i am unsure of, I would rather see a good defender signed with a goalkeeper and then splash the rest on a Jonathan Kodja or Assombalonga and see what we can do.
  13. Big John Ruddy is actually a decent shout. I personally absolutely love Raya as i just think he is one of our own from our academy. It is a shame to see him go. However, the positive is that the return on invesment is great and i am sure there would be a sell on clause. So far Mowbray has made decent experienced signing. Bradley Johnson is class for this division. I just feel we need to sell off some in our midfield your Smallwoods, Derrick Williams. Loan out Buckley, Nuttall, Grayson, Buttersworth, Magloire. Bring in a LB, CB, GK, and a striker. Job done! :)
  14. I think some of the criticism being thrown at Mowbray is a little harsh. The man has so far conducted himself with respect and honor in his role. He got us promoted, almost kept us up! Got us higher than another other League One that got promoted with us that year. Yes there areas that need to be addressed within the team. However, judge a transfer window by the end of it and not half way through it in pure panic. Every transfer window is the same on this board lose if you sign someone and lose if you sign no one. Reality is that yes we need a CB, LB, Striker, Midfielder. We have a lot of the answers within the squad that needs to grow and step up again this season. The Right Back debate should be solved with the young Namibian we have in Ryan Nyambe, he is 21 with plenty to learn. Let that be his spot to learn and make errors, with Lenihan by his side. It is more the left side that worries me... Mulgrew is an asset in his style and i feel like he could almost be the deep lying playmaker we have been looking for. I would almost look at doing ---------------------Mulgrew------------ ---------Evans--------Davenport/New -------------------Dack--------------- There is till plenty of time in this window just be patient and give it a go and judge it by the end. It isn't as far doom and gloom as everyone is putting it to be.
  15. Will repost seeing as my other thread is as removed: one interesting thing to note with regards to downing signing which everyone is comparing to whittingham Murphy and Etuhu is that the previous have had to drop down a league which they never adjusted to. Downing is tried and tested in the championship
  16. Getting quite excited by this transfer window. I tend to be one for bringing players from other leagues in a different countries. I feel like Downing needs to be seen as someone capable of leading the dressing room, helping the younger generation of players, and make an impact. A regular starter maybe not. It is a solid additional to the locker room. O’Neil sounds quite exciting as well with Smallwood hopefully on the exit he would be a good addition to the spine of the midfield but I feel it is starting to get a little over crowded. Unless we do a 4 diamond and using the wingbacks for cross as currently we have: rothwell, davenport (excited to see how he kicks on), travis, dack, downing, evans, Smallwood, (new midfielder). Hanley would be a decent addition I do remember him being incredibly slow on the turn around. But I would love to see us push mulgrew in front of the defence and have. raya nyambe lenihan hanley (new left back please!) Mulgrew/Evans rothwell. Travis Dack Armstrong/Brereton—Graham
  17. Out of interest in the squad that we have. Who would you: Loan Out Sell Keep Transfer In: Loan In.
  18. I like some of the names that are being mentioned. Andy Carrol, Austin are all great players but will all have been on contracts of 70k a week and above. Could Rovers offer them anywhere near that? I doubt it...I wouldn't think Mowbray would want to disrupt the dressing room like that. I think Jon Taylor, and Bauer are good shouts for the team, with Fielding as a back up as I think Raya needs to be given time to progress lets all remember it was his first proper season in the Championship. Also we need to use the loan Market to our advantage. Emerson Hyndman could be a decent one he did well at Fulham before heading out to Bournmouth. Gallagher i would take back on Loan as well i don't think 5m is the right deal to get him.
  19. i think this will be a super interesting Window and i don't believe we need drastic change to the team. I think our defense was weak this year due to being plagued by injuries. We have some great great young players in Nyambe, Chapman, Brereton, Armstrong, Davenport. We need to use our wise heads being Mulgrew and Graham to get this team over the line. Raya i rate he just needs time he is a young keeper who will learn and grow. There are some great players from the French ligue 1 i would be curious to look at. One being Jordan Ferri who is being released from Lyon and who is a gifted little deep lying playmaker.
  20. I think the key thing is make some smart moves you don't need to spend if you have good coaches and managers. Sheff United proved that by signing McGoldrick. I think there are some good signings to be made out there especially on the free market. I am hoping Sunderland win as i think Bauer would be a good edition with Archer. That would already strengthen the spine. Mulgrew i almost wouldn't mind seeing him sit in front of the defense as he can pick out a pass and his set pieces are still on point . Striker wise is the difficulty with midfield and wingers. Personally i like Bidwell would love to see him sign with Derrick Williams leaving with Smallwood, Samuel, Rodwell and Conway (who i would love to stay as a coach). I think Armstrong and Brereton will continue to grow and learn from Graham. Would love to see a passer in our team but no idea where we could find that.
  21. I think all he is trying to do is to manage expectation. On the surface our budgets are tiny compare to clubs like Leeds, Villa, both Sheffield club, Derby, and so forth. If we end up in the play off it is due to hard work and team spirit. Leutwiller sigining on means nothing to me as why throw 10k a week on Fielding who isn't even going to be starting. Keep developing Raya, Nyambe, Travis, Lenihan, Chapman, Brereton, they are our future. Downing being released i am fine with, i would love to see Wharton in and around the squad. In the meantime Gladwin, has been plagued by injuries and has had issues off the field during his time with us. Give him a short term contract and a chance to prove he can offer something. Make an appearance base salary and then see what happen low risk extension. Rodwell is interesting as i think he has been a good signing however, i would much rather use his salary allocation on bringing in another quality midfielder. But it could be a clever signing if he continues on the hardwork he has already put in.
  22. I think it is a bit quick on the gun to jump on and say the Ben Brereton hasn't lived up to expectation, have to remember his age and that this is a long term investment. As much as we get excited seeing a striker sign, especially one for such a sum we all have expectations that come with it. For the time yes he hasn't hit the ground running, but let's see what next season brings. For the coming season i think there is a need to sell off a few of our players and refresh our squad a little. Personally i would like to see the following leave: Dominic Samuel (Out on Loan), Nuttall (Out on Loan), Smallwood (Sold), Williams (Sold), Rodwell (Released), Leutwiller (Released), Gladwin (Released), Conway (Released), Downing (Sold/Released Not sure of his contract status). Would like to see Wharton promoted into the first team squad. Ideally would love to see a midfielder, defender, striker, and winger signed. Some cracking free signings available. At LB it has been mentioned Bidwell and Olsson either would be a good signing to have.
  23. Success for me. As failure would mean that we have taken a step back. Now be using the words success I would need to calm down expectation and rate the window a 6/10. I think the squad is stronger. Rothwell replaces Payne, Palmer is such an exciting prospect, Davenport will need time and more importanty Armstrong. Now I don't expect him to set the world alight but Mowbray knows him and understands the player, if there was ever a time for him to kick on in his career it is now!
  24. To me the team picks itself for Millwall. -------------Raya---------- Nyambe------Lenihan---Mulgrew---William ----------Smallwood---Evans-------- Bennett---------Dack--------Armstrong ----------------Graham------------------ Use Davenport, Palmer for game time. Get Davenport slowly ready to replace Evans in the long run. Palmer will need to make an impact. Our actually found it very difficult to pick our midfield! With Rothwell, Davenport, Palmer, all of them have an argument to get into that team. Very excited about the midfield area.
  25. If we have 4 players joining then i would hope that Nuttal, Travis, Fisher and Tomlinson head out on Loan.
