  1. How? We have had 9 years of destruction from our owners? We are by no means in a position to be fighting for the Premier League. We can certainly build towards it for the future but we aren't even close to that. We have too many bridges to rebuild.
  2. Happy to answer these. ---------------------------------------------------------- Is the football better ? Since Owen Coyle? Yes absolutely, at least i see a team with desire and fight has the club invested well ? I think it is too early to say Dack yes, Gallagher could, Armstrong yes, Holtby Yes, so they have been some good signings other i will not and for the younger players they are yet to prove but who knows they may eventually catch up. Does the team appear to have an appetite for a battle ? Battle yes, just it is disorgansied and unbalanced to me. Is there a good team spirit ? Yes the team does play for each other. Is there a general positive feel about the club ? No but has there ever been since Venky's took over? Is the team progressing/growing/performing better ( compared to last season ) ? Depends on where we finish at the end of the season. Not saying we should keep Mowbray i am saying we are in a better positon since he took over. Is the manager inspiring our crop of young players? He did originally, is he still? Debatable but once again I am not saying we should keep Mowbray i am defending the fact that people say we are worse off since he took over. Is the club happy to rely on a loan goalkeeper when we sold a very good one last summer ? How many fans wanted him gone at the same time? I could go on. Saying we are in a far better position than when Mowbray arrived is really stretching it. ( Not entirely his fault though )
  3. Not doubting that, I agree with you, I however, disagree with every fan who would say we were better off prior to Mowbray or that we are no better prior to Mowbray. Had we turn back time to the last 10 years i can think of far worse situations we have been in and considering the mess that Coyle left us, Mowbray's has overall been a positive. His time may have come to end soon, but to say this is the lowest and the most deflated fans has felt since the Venky's took over is a massive over statement.
  4. Do read but still find it confusing how this can be as low as you felt, when the hatred I had for Kean took me lower followed by despair.
  5. But I am confused i don't understand how we are worse? Would you rather the squad we had prior to Mowbray?
  6. That the beautiful think we heading doesn't guarantee anything we may stay up, like i can say "we are heading for promotion" there is no way even opinion can be proven contrary as we cannot predict the future. What i am saying today on the 22nd of November 2019 compare to 22nd of November 2016 are we in a better position as a club, with our squad and with our manager? Yes we are.
  7. Oh I have mate, but are you telling me you would take Owen Coyle back any day over Mowbray? Are we last in the league? Are we in the relegation zone? Wishing upon a Steve Kean return? I think you will be embarrassed by your comments. I never said keep Mowbray, what i am saying is that you are massively overreaction and demonizing someone who has actually done a decent job for the club.
  8. No arguing his limits as a manager, more that overall he has left us in a better position. From the defence side i really struggle to see how? Greer and Brown were absolutely torrid players. I would very much take Tosin, Nyambe, Lenihan, WIlliams in our defence any day of the week than Greer Brown Hoban Hendrie and so forth.
  9. We were relegated that year we haven't and finished 22nd right now we are 18th so if we are picking on technicalities yes we have. The memory of a fan is incredible. I am not even saying keep Mowbray in charge, but to think he is a villain and hasn't improved us in 2 and a half years is delusional. He got us up from League One, finished mid table the following season, have a stronger squad...I mean is it really that hard for fans to say he was actually one of the few managers under Venky's who has done an admirable job?
  10. If you want to give yourself a heart here is the squad he took over from: Now please don't tell me we are not in a better position... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016–17_Blackburn_Rovers_F.C._season
  11. Really? So i assume you would rather have: Gordon Greer, Henley, Wes Brown, Jason Lowe, Hoban, Hendrie, Ward, Feeney, Akpan, Guthrie,Joao all back in the squad? We have a stronger squad and are not in the relegation zone, and have a far more stable club...You are right though lets go back to the glory days of 2017
  12. Interesting to see who is Brentford player of the season so far... https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11688/11865478/championship-fans-rate-their-clubs-201920-season-so-far
  13. Would go with -----------------------Walton----------------- ------Nyambe---Tosin-----Williams Bennett----Holtby-----Travis------Downing -----------------Dack---------------- -------Armstrong---Gallagher
  14. Wasn't a pay to play appearance contract if i am not mistaken?
  15. Lower than getting relegated to League One? Lower than Steve Kean as manager? I think there are some short term memories.
  16. A bit drastic for someone who took over from Coyle and has taken us to a far better position. I agree with a new voice, but to that level of anger is absolutely bamboozling
  17. Been thinking a bit about the Mowbray situation these last few weeks and i kind of see it as situation very similar to Spurs with Poch. My disappointment for the poor results recently has evaporated a little. I think it is a little to early to call for his head as i do believe while performances haven't been great and neither results. The games against Barnsley and a few other lower-ranked teams is when you learn whether he still has the players backing. I do think it is a little harsh to put the entire blame on him as i think some of the players have let themselves down in your Johnson, Gallagher (though he is being played out of position), and a few injury problems haven't helped either. I think our attack is looking strong even though we aren't scoring enough, I think many clubs would love to have the likes of Armstrong, Gallagher, Graham, Brereton who i all think can have a impact. The biggest issue for me is Left back, CB and having a strong ball winning midfielder. If our time with Mowbray does come to end then i will be very very thankful for everything he has done. I think he came into a thankless task, but at the end of the day he came provided stability, and has left us in a better position today than when he took over which is the only thing you can hope for when you have a new manager. After these string of games if things haven't improved then i think a new voice is needed but I will forever have a fond memory of Tony Mowbray.
  18. I think we need a new system for the team and i would like to see us try a good old 4 1 2 1 2 which i think could work quite well for us. Would love to see: ---------------------Walton----------------- Bennett---Lenihan--Tosin---Cunningham (If not fit Williams) -------------------Travis------------------------ ----------Johnson----Holtby----------------- ------------------Dack---------------------- --------Gallagher-------Armstrong------- I think Gallagher size and heading winning capability with Armstrong speed could be a great combo!
  19. I think the difficult thing i have come to realise for this is the following. Do i believe the overall strength of the team has improved? I would say on paper yes, however, behind the scenes i think this very much a year of transition unlike last year, which for me was always a year of consolidation. While we talk about ambitions and finishing top 6 (rightfully so, you want to aim for as high as you can in life), with the recent talk changing our style of play to a possession attacking base football then there is no way i expect us to event be top 10. With a new system that need to be put in place with various new signings on top that the squad as a whole will need time as i expect to give it that. Yes, Mowbray can be absolutely infuriating with playing certain players out of position like Bennett at RB. But has he taking us as far as he can? I am not sure yet. I am happy of the fact I do believe we have a man in charge with the club at the heart of his decision rather than Kean or any other numpty who we had. Yes we would all like to be in the Premiership but by not right do we deserve yet. I think should finish mid table again this year, that is alright we need Gallagher, Brereton, Travis, Nyambe to make the step up now and show that they are the core of our team. I do agree we cannot rely on an aging Downing and Graham consistently either. VS Boro i do expect a defeat they are a very good team, but a draw would be a good result.
  20. Happy to throw in my name for new manager of Rovers haha
  21. For me the team should pick itself tomorrow. Nyambe had a very good AFCON so please just start him. Give Bennett a little rest. ----------------------------Walton------------ Nyambe-------Lenihan-----Tosin------Cunningham (FINALLY A LB) ----------Johnson-------Travis--------------- Armstrong---------Dack-----------Rothwell ----------------Gallagher----------------------
  22. sorry nottingham! Getting my red teams muddled up!
  23. https://www.skysports.com/transfer-centre
  24. Linked with Darlow, Great keeper loved him from his time at Charlton sign.....him.....up!!!!!
  25. Why is everyone suddenly saying we have an old squad... Lenihan, Nyambe, Chapman, Nuttall, Armstrong, Brereton, Davenport, Bell, Travis, we have far more younger players than older. It is important to have a good mix. Gallagher i am unsure of, I would rather see a good defender signed with a goalkeeper and then splash the rest on a Jonathan Kodja or Assombalonga and see what we can do.
