  1. I 100% agree with you Glen. I remain optimistic and very ouch agree with the term journey. I really don’t expect us to push on this season and push with promotion as we are so far away from that at this current moment in time. In truth our only creative player is Buckley but we need someone else in the squad who can unlock teams with that vital pass. Moment of creativity. I feel we are lacking 4 bodies in the team it is fine to bring through academy players and add value but it needs to be done progressively and not just in one. Am I worried as to where we are at? No simply because to me a good season is finishing mid table this year and building towards a challenge on the top side of the league in a year or two once we have a more stable and settled squad which currently we don’t have.
  2. That’s how I interpreted it seems like anything is mentioned about Dack and this forum goes into meltdown. I would add when we won 4 games in a row the same people who are saying he should be getting games are the same one who said his career is over with us when we were winning. Changing directions quicker than a boomerang
  3. Well 3 days feels like a very long time in football. I think it is way way way too early to panic and freak out the transfer window is still open and players will come in. the issue is the style of football that JDT is trying to implement requires flexibility within the squad and the ability to rotate. Klopp who does a high press frequently rotates his squad to ensure the players remain fresh. To me there is no doubt that the players already fatigue due to the demands this new style has. Personally, we do need new legs. I would argue someone like Pickering needs someone like Styles come in to allow Edun to fight for midfield. To me we desperately need someone to cover for Buckley. Bucko just seems knackered and slow to me at the moment. Dacks moment will come not worried about that. I felt like he was still not 100% fit. Smozdic no issue with him yet my main criticism he hasn’t had any service to be able to judge him on much.
  4. One defeat and by the sounds of the boards sounds like we are in a relegation battle, i need to prescribe some Valium and viagra 🤣😂. JDT has been backed financially and the window isn’t over. Not ideal would love to have more signings in but they surely blocked for a reasons either fee out of budget or wages these things take time. One defeat isn’t the end of the world. We are first 9 points from 12 we weren’t going to be undefeated all season
  5. Was at the game as well last night but for me Gallagher always tracks back and help out Brittain. pickering always ends up isolated he needs more help natural 2 vs 1 is going to be difficult to defend against.
  6. I actually rate Pickering i just feel he has been targeted and more often that not gets little defensive support from the wing at least that is what i saw yesterday at Reading.
  7. Tonight was bound to happen one day or another. I don’t blame the team it is very young. We had vale Dolan Philips Buckley all out there. for me Buckley looks tired and didn’t do the basic, this is a game Wharton would have loved. Pickering needs to find his confidence and Brittain actually look alright. i actually agree with JDT wrong decisions cost us. Whether it was the penalty on Philips/Edun or the failed pass from Diaz to Dack who was unmarked in the box, to no one closing Hoilett down. hurts more that two ex rovers scored, and thst it was Ince. we need more bodies and older bodies
  8. I would argue his mother raised him...But that is the reality of football are you telling you would turn down millions and setting up your family for life and stay in your current job position?
  9. I find it sad that some of the comments on here are people are wishing ill of a 17 year old boy who could set up his family for life. He owes us absolutely nothing, nada, zilch, if we could all offer the same luxuries that he can with a move why shoudn't he do it? If we get 3m or so for an unproven youngster i would take no matter what he can do, you just don't know what can happen. Put a sale on clause and see what he can do.

  11. There always seems to be a few of us in London! I think what was great i use to go to the match with a French mate of mine who the fellow Rovers fan once picked him up and crowd surfed him to the from row when we equalised against Fulham. To which every other game i took him to they kept getting him smashed by buying him a drink. (My french mate has now moved to Australia to stay safe from the Rovers fans) hahaha
  12. Can't wait for this as a London rover technically my first game of the season now 🙂
  13. Send me the article to this that has his name associated to this, because if I remember at the time it was Waggott leading this not Mowbray. Mowbray is the manager he doesn't have a say in buying and selling of stadium and training ground facilities. So once again not fair to associated that to him. He was quoted saying he didn't believe it was a bad thing but he wasn't the one who put the training ground up for sale. I am luckily through my work have been able to check out academies structure in the UK and Spurs have the set up that everyone is under the same roof so from that perspective it is a set up that work. I am not one for overly defending Mowbray, but i am totally against blaming him for every single downfall this club has had throughout the last 5 years. Some things he takes responsibility for others it was above his pay grade and if you boss says I want to sale the training you are not going to have a rogue employee saying "I think this is a stupid idea" in front of the press.
  14. His overall tenancy is bar one year he improved year on year so we never actually regressed if we are talking about from a squad performance stand point: We did 8th last year, 15th year before, 11th year before that, 15th year before that. 21/22 https://tmssl.akamaized.net/images/logo/verysmall/gb2.png?lm=1643026970 Championship Second Tier 19 12 15 59:50 9 69 8 Tony Mowbray 20/21 https://tmssl.akamaized.net/images/logo/verysmall/gb2.png?lm=1643026970 Championship Second Tier 15 12 19 65:54 11 57 15 Tony Mowbray 19/20 https://tmssl.akamaized.net/images/logo/verysmall/gb2.png?lm=1643026970 Championship Second Tier 17 12 17 66:63 3 63 11 Tony Mowbray 18/19 https://tmssl.akamaized.net/images/logo/verysmall/gb2.png?lm=1643026970 Championship Second Tier 16 12 18 64:69 -5 60 15 Tony Mowbray 17/18 https://tmssl.akamaized.net/images/logo/verysmall/gb3.png?lm=1466594034 League One Third Tier 28 12 6 82:40 42 96 2
  15. I feel like there is a division between fans who if they say anything positive about Mowbray are seen as living in the past as things are better with JDT. Look by all means JDT does come across a hell of a lot more passionate, and has been a built a better connection with the fans in two months than Mowbray could do in 5 years. However, I do think some people are quick to forget what actually Mowbray inherited and where we are today. A lot of the rewards that JDT is getting with the academy and the squad were built up by Mowbray and the club prior to his arrival. I can name the following just to send shivers down your spine as to what we had in the squad: Stokes, Brown, Greer, Ward, Feeneym Guthrie, and Akpan. We were far away from having anything of the squad we have today. Should be seen as a god? No, but should be grateful for the job he did for us across the 5 years, he created stability, got us promoted and created a squad with assets. Am i right to be excited about the JDT era yes! But he has only had three games and a season is judged by May not August. So lets enjoy the ride and see where this takes us, without having to run over our previous manager. He wasn't a Kean, Coyle, Berg, or whoever else you wnt me to add to this list!
  16. Would be curious seeing as Rovers fans are quite international would be worth seeing who is where and try and connect people up 🙂
  17. great opportunity to give some players a rest i would go with: -----------------Pears----------- JRC---Philips--Wharton---Edun ------Morton-----Wharton Markanday-----Dack-----Dolan -----------Vale/Gallagher------
  18. as much as i love JPVH and Bowley I think they are out of price, I would be very happy to settle for Styles and Heilik
  19. Slow build is exactly what football is about though, Mowbray did take time himself and had a 3 year cycle and then pushed on the in second 3 year cycle. Yes the league has a high turnover of players none more so than for ourselves in this year transfer window having lost Lenihan, Nyambe, Johnson, Davenport. The reality is that we haven't just promoted from within the starting 11 is largely the same and 3m+ has been spent on two players coming with another 3 on the way. The answer of integrating youth is a valid one by no means is anyone saying they are starting every single league game. But what we they are offering is the chance to be apart of the 1st team squad to fight for the starting 11 which i am all for.
  20. Dack, Smozdic, Hedges, To name a few. On the wings we have Markanday, Dolan, Brereton, Gallagher and hedges who can play there. WE don't need to over crowd the midfield area at all.
  21. The problem need to be about managing expectation. Am I expecting promotion this year? Oh hell no! It is a year in transition we need to slowly build we haven’t got a Manchester City like war chest to buy our way out the league. So what do we have that no other or very little other clubs have in the league category 1 academy. Granted we can’t go up with kids, but kids will remain kids unless you give them minutes. If Garrett, Wharton, Markanday slowly build up The games they get this year we will have a solid 3 new additions to the team to push on next year. From their the addition of a Van Hecke Would be a master stroke by the club as Lenihan would be forgotten and overall the defence would have improved. I would arguably say that the midfield area has improved if Bucko steps up and I don’t think we will miss Johnson and Davenport. Let’s see where the window takes us. But I firmly agree with Gregg the only way we will be attractive to other young talent is by showing a path way to the first team which little clubs in the area can offer especially with the cat 1 status
  22. You can’t throw money at everything you have choices to make based off the budget we have. To be honest me personally I like the midfield with Travis, Buckley, Hedges/Smozdic/ Dack so having a a player to sign taking off our budget i wouldn’t actually do. I would much rather have a cheap loan and sign or allocate the budget towards a Van hecke who would walk into our starting 11 over another midfielder. I would like us to use the budget for a central defender, a left winger if BBD goes and a striker
  23. I think he counts as a body, it gives the chance to Garett and Wharton and if it doesn't work out Morton could be an able body. I know nothing about the lad but fingers cross he can have an impact on the season but Liverpool friend do seem to rate him quite highly.
