I thought he looked promising for us - kind of the way Bentley did his first half season. Didn't light the world on fire, but did enough to show he had potential. I still see that as one of the most disappointing things of the Hughes era: FSP was practically begging for us to buy him and was for sale, but Hughes didn't.

Got the new Metallica album (unfortunately, was on a trip and didn't have good CDs for the ride back, so I had to pay for it!). REALLY good. Can't find a track on the album I don't like. I'd say the last 3 tracks or so are utterly brilliant.

Also got Springsteen live at Hammersmith. Possibly the greatest concert performance in Rock history.

5 hour Metallica special tonight on Radio 1 from 7pm until midnight.

If you haven't seen it yet, I'd HIGHLY suggest seeing the documentary that was made about Metallica while they were recording St Anger. Absolutely fascinating.

Anyway, I wonder which will come first, the Red Dwarf film, or the Guns n Roses Chines Democracy album? Last I heard of the former was that one of the writers was still trying to get people to fund it a few years ago. God knows about the latter.

Good of a place to put this as any - was reading an article on the Wall Street Journal site about the perils of living in houses with floor to ceiling windows. Loved the following paragraph:

Saw "Tell No One" a French film based off of an American novel. Well done and I thought it captured the tone of the novel very well.

If you want to go off of a good debut album, a lot of artists would be "geniuses", Darius Rucker and Hootie and the Blowfish as an example.

I was just thinking the other day that he would have been very helpful the last half of last season.

Even if you are slightly monitored, that is too much. The government doesn't need to know who I am, what I'm doing or where I'm going. There are a lot of places where they have more information about me than they should have, but it is because I allowed them to - they didn't force me.

Few people know, but in the US you don't even have to give an ID to fly. Sure, you will have to end up singing "Moon River" but it isn't compulsory.

And the bigger question isn't "what does it take away?" it is "what does it help?"

He announced he was leaving on a Bosman, but did it at least a year before his contract ran out. Hughes said he wanted to keep hold of him as long as he could.

You also completely ignore in your twisted scenarios how Neill's actions resulted in us getting a severely reduced fee because he decided to let his contract run down. Bentley has 3 years left on his so it puts us in a much stronger position to get the biggest fee possible, if he wanted to screw us over he could have refused to sign the last contract that was presented to him.

That's bull. He told them well enough in advance that he wanted to move. They could have cashed in earlier, but chose not to.

And Bentley did refuse to sign the last contract that was presented to him a couple of months ago.

Loved the last one despite not being a huge fan of the TV show, hoping this one can measure up.

Really looking forward to The Dark Knight after seeing the trailer this weekend.
