Narked off that we lost to Big Club, but would seem that they're on a good run and scrapping to get out of relegation, so I guess, more up for it.
Hughes has to give a kick up the bum to the players and get them playing well if we are even to entertain thoughts of playing in Europe next season. Hoping that UEFA places could extend to 7th, just in case but there would be the Intertoto as a back door into Europe.

Same presumably with Richard Shaw's testimonial, Coventry vs Celtic (which Cov duly pummelled Celtic 3-1)
-
Hopefully with both Shearer and Owen still out, Newcastle will start firing blanks upfront, and coupled with Boumsong at the back, ship a few goals too

Would be a split between Nelsen & Bellamy for me. Bellamy just edging it.

If I could just interrupt the arguing for a moment.
The ruling the of the bloke in Rochdale was a one off and no precedence has been set. If the pub was to do it again, he'd be fined.
The Premier League will continue to prosecute pubs showing live Premier League football between 2.45pm and 5pm on a Saturday.
But the way Sky move kick off times around to their liking, there's sometimes not many kicking off then though.

Do remember reading somewhere, that even Juventus' crowds are very low. And due to the TV revenue they get, they aren't bothered in the slightest.
TV does seem to be running things.

Should be no guarantees. Although if the FA were to appoint a yes man in charge . . .
-
Would agree with that. Be good to go back to the days of games all kicking off at the same time. But Sky bankrolls the Premiership and changes fixtures whenever they feel like it it seems.

Went with Bellamy's first against Pompey too. Class in a glass Although it was a tough choice with a few cracking goals to choose from this season.

Secure European football, and I reckon all will be well with retaining his services for next season. As has been said, most clubs will probably be chasing players in the World Cup shop window.
-
So, if "the Premiership Representative" wins their match, it's straight into the UEFA Cup First round. Happy days (if it's us)!

How far did Rovers get the last time they entered the competition?

Sounds like Bruce is using the same playbooks Souey used in training

"Graeme Le Saux was moved off the England commentary team because the BBC felt for games of this significance the audience would want the experience and expertise Mark Lawrenson brings to the commentary box."
Surely they jest?!
-
Indeed, top stuff.
-
The usual suspects really.
Lawrenson, Alan Smith, Davie Provan and the ITV lot.
Not really looking forward to the commentary from the World Cup
-
Nice one, good stuff

The Race for Europe
--- realistically either Arsenal, Blackburn, Bolton or Spurs could make fourth spot and it threatens to go all the way to the last day of the season.---
Good article, and do like how they've written us.

Looks increasingly like it's going to go down to wire. Hopefully Charlton will be their usual self at this time of the season, and Man City continue with their inconsistency and we pick up valuable points. All the while hoping Chelsea can win the league by the time they play us, and field their reserves.
Hopefully Newcastle will miss Shearer and hopefully Owen won't risk coming back just yet, not with the World Cup on the horizon.
Wigan and West Ham could very well sneak it too.
At least the tension is from the other end of the table, better than what we've had in recent seasons
