  1. I`m over the bloody moon.

    I love watching him play.

One of the greatest to ever grace the english game and some people want him out!?!

I guess only the Spuds would want him out.

Top player, has been carrying L'Arse in a few games though, but none the less, pure class. Think he's not done too bad since converting from a winger biggrin.gif

  2. Don't really think that L'Arse were cheated out. They did however, IMO play very well for the first 20mins until the sending off, with Valdes making a couple of good saves from Henry in the first 5 mins, then once Lehman got sent off, appeared to be hanging on, even moreso after they scored.

I do think some of the officiating was particularly bad, no bookings when there should've been, bookings when there were perfectly legit tackles etc, which did spoil the game a bit, but didn't seem to be really favouring one side or the other. Thankfully, said ref won't be at the World Cup, although I'm sure we can expect more dodgy refereeing sad.gif

  3. Just a shame Rovers World only goes back to 2001/02 as I want the Premiership DVD too. I did manage to record as much of the highlights I could off MOTD at the time onto VHS, but it's not the same sad.gif

Otherwise it's a case of putting together a DVD myself for this season wink.gif

  4. Kenny speaks the truth.  Even their Captain thinks he cant manage.  It just gets better and better all the time.  Just think Cunningham has played under Mick McCarty and Steve Bruce, he should be made a saint for not either killing them or ending up playing like a cabage.

Be interesting to see what the Porno Boys have to say about what Cunningham said.

  5. Wenger has been very crafty and played an absolute blinder from the point of view of Arsenal FC. The experience Walcott will get from mixing with the squad will be absolutely invaluable.

I'd go along with that. Even if he doesn't play or if he has a cameo role in the last few minutes of a game, the experience of a big tourney and mixing with world class players will surely be good for him and especially when he goes back to L'Arse a better player. Only downside would be the media spotlight, which the red top comics have already started on, but I'm sure Wenger will shield him a bit. Although I thought he came across well in his interview on SSN, not giving too much away, and saying what he liked, despite interviewer trying to set him up by asking certain questions IMO.

  6. My word you couldn't make it up if you tried.

What's the point of half measures - if Bruce wanted to retain any credability he should have named and shamed the players and shown them the door, thus showing them who's boss (well for now anyway  biggrin.gif .)

This half-hearted measure just puts Brum in an even worse light and adds yet more gloom and doom for the supporters. What kind of message is it to start crying "the players won't play for us, but it's ok we'll protect them but we want everyone to know how hard done by we are".

Every manager, no matter how good they are will have the odd fall-out with players (although some seem to make a habit of it). How it is dealt with it is what makes the manager successful. The only other refusal to play I can think of is Viduka for John Barnes at Celtic. I can think of a fair few players sulking when dropped/subbed etc. but that at least shows they actually want to play. Refusing to play at all is rater rare in my book and shows how troubled the brum camp is.

It should also be noted that that small club rovers are seeming to do ok with firebrands such as Bellamy Todd & Savage.

I think it would be better to name and shame the players, especially for future employers sake.

  7. I'm surprised no one has mentioned Micah Richards' actions either. He went down as if he'd been shot when Kuqi tackled him (a definite foul but also a genuine attempt to get the ball and not the man). After treatment he bounced up, trotted over to Kuqi, pushed him in the chest with both hands and then walked away with an exaggerated limp again. If he picked anyone except Kuqi the player would probably have gone down (Robbie would have, holding his face for effect) but he just bounced off Shefki's chest. as soon as the game restarted he ran off like a spring chicken...

Aye, saw that. His antics were very poor to say the least (the word Platoon springs to mind) and Kuqi every right to have a go at him. At least Richards (and James) contributed to our first goal - cheers fella biggrin.gif

  8. I've already subscribed to the Setanta sports channels (although was initially for the NASN channel and now they're all bundled together for £15 a month). Will be interesting to see how they deal with even more footy on their channels as you already get the SPL, French, German and Italian leagues live.
