Let's keep it how it is and sell him in January and buy a new left back.
That's the most sensible option and the one the one that will happen.
Good luck for the future Neill, have a good last few months, you have been an excellent servant for the club.
He may have been a servant for the club on the pitch but sometimes I wish he would keep his thoughts to himself. Ok so he wants to move on, no need to pimp himself in the media, I'm sure his agent would do a good job of that. If he can concentrate on playing well, he'll do both Rovers and himself a favour, as we should get a healthy fee to bolster the squad in January and steadily climb the table.
Loyalty is seems to be somewhat lost in todays game, although I would like to have players committed 100% to playing for Rovers. I think Hughes might need to have a word with Neill when he gets back, to stop him making these comments every time.

Should be a decent crowd for this game since sky arent showing it.
I must say im slightly confused as to why they have chosen
West Ham- Chesterfield over Rovers - Chelsea
Sky always seem to pick a game that has the makings of an upset, with the lower leagues going up against the Premiership teams, hence stuff like the Villa-Doncaster game of last season. If that is the case, I hope we're never on Sky until the later rounds.

Sounds verymatter of fact...where dsid you hear that?
Doesnt really suprise me...i wouldn't bet against him moving up to number one here when Hughes moves on
Unless Hughes takes him with him to wherever/whenever he moves on.
-
Remember him saying the same thing when SSN featured the UEFA Cup groups yesterday, so probably from the same source.
-
Don't see why we don't sign Tugay on for another year. As Pleasure said our return to form has coincided with his appearances in the team, and his knowledge could/should be passed down come the day he hangs up his boots.
-
Another good result, and we're slowly sneaking up the table. Top stuff. Nice one Sparky!

I'd be happy for video evidence to be used retrospectively and punishments handed out to the actors and fakers after the event, thus not slowing the game at all.
I'd go along with that too. It might not stop anything during a game (at first), but if the cheaters, lets just say like that bloke from Spuds "losing his balance" in the box against Pompey at weekend, if may be sufficient to put a stop to it in future games. Especially if match bans are handed out.

Fantastic result, top goals and a good crowd.
That's the hoodoo in Europe now busted, ta Mr Hughes & co! Now to build on this and continue the good work and push on in the League, and a get a decent draw and run in the UEFA Cup.
Happy Days!

I guess with the amount of Coaching licenses the Rovers back room staff it'd be no wonder they'll start to get linked with jobs.
Hope it's not true though about the West Brom job.
-
So, would expect them to do what Charlton normally did under Curbs, do very well at the start of a season then start to plummet and find their true level after playing the 'traditional' top teams.
-
Maybe he's going to sing us a tune when the player run out of the tunnel!
-
haha, don't think so. I saw someone on here posting that we were in for Sheringham also.
On a serious note, if we even try to sign any of those we are showing the whole football world just how little ambitions we have.
Also saw in the Sunday rags that we're after Michael Ball, currently at PSV, in the January window.

Well, that's me not posting in the Previews thread before a game, Rovers have lost everytime I have! Didn't for the last two two games, and hey presto, we haven't lost.
Good to finally get the three points and bag a few goals to pad the goal difference a bit, but we've still conceded 4 goals in two games. Not seen the highlights but going by the reports off here, if we can shore up the defence, and general play, like we did in the second half then we have every chance of climbing the table, especially as it's still close this early on.
Still, it's always good to look down on the Spuds and Liverpool in the table

Looking forward to how our new strikeforce, and Ooijer, plays against Sheff Utd. Obviously must-win games coming up this month, but I think we'll do alright, especially if Nonda stays fit and settles in well, as he's played for Monaco, he should be well used to playing in front of small crowds
-
Emo has been playing well, very impressive. Hope his good run of form at RB continues, especially as it looks like Neill will be off to Scousers. Incidently, was also impressed with Bentley in the Chelsea game. So looks like thats our right side sorted. Now to sort out the left.
-
What say you're going to get that, or something dreadfully similar, in tomorrow's papers
-
Hopefully he'll be good to go for the Chelsea game.
Good news all the same.
-
Good news - now he can get himself sent-off properly against Everton
Although, we'll see if he can resist the urge against Everton. . .
-
Hoping Emerton does well and proves that he's worth staying on. Also hoping that now we've re-signed him, that'll help sway Neill round to re-signing too.
-
Official text says he's signed a new 4 year contract.
-
Got the official text. Tis good news indeed.
-
Good read, Bob, as ever.

201 years this October 5th.
Will go for a Rovers win, 2-1.
As has already been said, and is quite obvious, we need a good start. The fixture computer has been relatively kind to us, with only Chelsea & Liverpool as the 'big' clubs we play in the first couple of months. Should give us a good start to the season, all being well of course.
[Archived] Bowen For Norwich Job?

Did see in yesterday's Daily Express that Bowen WOULD be taking up the job in Norwich, but if the noises coming out of Rovers are saying otherwise, then will have to wait and see.
