why not say exactly what you mean?

.As an example, It might imply that all the good news from India was fake news...thatTM has not been given what he requested....that he is having to make do...that he is having to use money that might have bought a younger, better quality winger to strengthen another position...therefore ..new contract for Craig...

If we had signed a 33 year old from another club on a one year deal people would be up in arms. I don't buy the leader/coach/experience/knows the club line that is being spun to justify his contract. I have seen enough of him over the last couple of seasons to know he simply isn't good enough anymore.

Agreed.I don't buy it either. Going a bit further, I am troubled by the decision and what it could imply....

    I have the same worries.

Venky's share price has plummeted since Tony went to India. It's possible other issues will take priority over Rovers' transfer budget. Hopefully not.

    Agreed.

We have no reason to trust them.

Last season's "success" had the impact of reconciling many supporters-albeit temporarily-to our lowest league position in 38 years.

    Next few weeks etc

  4. No comment on Collymore's personal life. I just don't know enough.

As a pundit, for a very long time, he was the only-and I mean only-ex footballer to talk critically about the "mismanagement" of our club. He did so on a number of occasions. The same cannot be said of any of our own ex players. I know Sutton began to speak out, but only fairly recently.

Stan  came out against the premier league and the F.A. and allowed our fans to speak-without trying to close them down, as soon as they mentioned certain agents!

Also, let's face it, he is not entirely wrong in his comments about the likes of Jenas...

    Stan's the man!

And let's not forget his writing off of Graham, subsequently retracted by saying he advocated selling him rather than writing him off. Answers on a postcard for what the difference between the 2 is.

Well, to be fair, I was also worried about Graham at the start of last season-maybe before.

At the start of last season, my -albeit unprofessional-judgement was that he was looking lethargic and overweight. In fact, we even had a joke about him being like Elvis at the end!

    I confess!

“To be fair” that last line could just mean that our processes, governance and budget are stuck in the early 90s...

Meanwhile the game moved on. Even more rapidly in the last 7 years. Just about the same time this bunch of idiots have been in charge.

Haha...But that is not how he said it/meant it .

It was an attempt to to justify the unjustifiable and to normalise the business of Blackburn employees awaiting the glacial speed of decisions in India..

You can lay the naive, partly duped and partly purposely ignorant line to the first few years for sure but the Owen Coyle fiasco and continuing heavy involvement of satellite agents connected to former bad advisors blows it out the water in recent years somewhat.

Lightening doesn't strike twice when it's costing tens of millions still from the first time around.

I think the situation is now paper losses of c10 mill or so per annum on VLL seem to suit the purposes of the ultimate parent company. Don't think they set out to lose money, certainly not 25 million per year but they know and knew from the off it needs outside funding propping it up and they are happy sustaining to more sensible levels to suit their accounting processes.

Play Reach for my revolver Bingo...

    Naive

    Badly advised

    Learned their lessons....

...and my own personal favourite (from Bob Coar)

Just the same as when Jack was here

Which makes the regular complaints about FFP and a lack of income/revenue all the more laughable. Selling a few more season tickets or handing over the full DE to away fans pales into insignificance compared to attracting a well paying shirt sponsor, yet as you say with the exception of Dafabet whatever efforts they have made on that front have been futile.

Still never got to the bottom of that deal with Zebra Claims but something didn't add up there.

100%.. This frustrates the hell out of me-along with the lack of advertising/sponsorship over the last few years.

It was if they just couldn't be arsed. Then to play the FFP card.. Well it just won't wash...

Again, you have to wonder why...

Wonder if the masses would care any more?

I expect there would be a demand for sponsorless shirts but I bet a lot wouldn’t care.

Ah sponsorless shirts! Now I am sure Venky's actually  allowed Rovers to start one season without a shirt sponsor being sorted.

Maybe, a sponsorless shirt could be worn like sack cloth, as a reminder of the wilful neglect of our club?

Out of curiousity, how many people would accept next season’s shirt having the Venkys logo as main sponsor...?

It would make me want to dig out an old shirt and get  KFC printed on it....but then again, you probably knew that!
