  2. Stories like that are everywhere, but so are TV warnings about marijuana and ecstasy and cocaine being the devil, and a huge amount of young people have used one or both and haven't suddenly fallen into an episode of Casualty. The weight that warnings about illegal drugs carry isn't really that great for young people. And if the circumstances of your life mean you reach a point where you're ignorant of the dangers of (some) substances, and then you're told that one you've never tried is a million times better than everything else you've ever experienced in your life put together, it's not hard to imagine giving it a try. Then, when it really does feel that good, you're somewhat screwed when it comes to stopping. Same as most other addictions. You fall into it without intending to, and then you don't really want to stop.
  3. Isn't that statement valid of any PL player, theno? Bit of a sidetrack from the Benni issue, but where does a team like Rovers draw the line between not wasting wages on highly paid (possibly even non-playing) substitutes and having quality in squad depth to compete in the league we're in?
  4. 32 goals in 69 games. To get rid of Benni would basically be pressing a big red self-destruct button.
  5. Played Assassin's Creed for the first time yesterday. Ended up playing for 4 hours straight. Incredibly good game.
  6. Juve have had falling attendances ever since the late 90's. I think last year they had a cup game with an attendance of 250. This despite a few years ago having all women and children's season tickets priced at one Euro per game.
  7. Oh, right. I didn't think that I'd raised any issue with you disliking their music, merely that, as opposed to your belief that I might have some unwavering desire to force RH down everyone's throats, it does seem to me that some people will have a preformed opinion of a certain band's music as wanky pretentious rubbish before even listening to it. Some people may also show signs of being completely stupid. But thanks for correcting me, and for pointing out that your previous post somehow indicates a sense of humour. Maybe if I throw a LOL or a few hundred spelling mistakes into each post, I could be as hilarious as you.
  8. Fair enough, I know a lot of people don't like the band, but merely hearing music must be dangerous for someone of such low intellect that you barely display a minimal grasp on your first language. Careful now. Turn the radio on and your head might explode.
  9. Only if I had never heard a single note of music before, and never heard any ever again.
  10. Yes and yes. As well as Polyphonic Spree, Stars, The National, The Coral, Asobi Seksu, Iron and Wine and Ryan Adams.
  11. The 'vengeance' trilogy. Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance Oldboy Sympathy for Lady Vengeance
  12. If the trailer had just said that, I'd have gone to see the film by now.
  13. Third the suggestion of Ran. Personally I'd say The Conversation is better than Rear Window. Both great though.
  14. What was your first Rovers game? At home to Shrewsbury or something? Purposely pick an unnattractive tie to make sure people knew you were the most dedicated of all fans? If you were developing an interest in football today and wanted to go to a match at Ewood, would you choose Charlton or Liverpool to sample the delights of the Premiership standard game? But wait, you aren't on the database, you're not in the club, you can't come to that game. Why don't we start you off with something lighter, let's say Newcastle. So we'll have your £25 for that, and now you can have a Liverpool ticket. That'll be another £36. Obviously in the wake of the City game way back when, it was necessary for the club to react in a way that would clamp down on away supporters infiltrating home areas. But posters here have told of numerous times when genuine attempts to get tickets to big games have been turned down. Or fans not being able to buy more tickets than they usually get. We can't seem to tempt back those fans who have walked away from Ewood, and we're making it harder to get new ones to come to games.
  15. Rafa Benitez on why academies aren't working.
  16. Anyone know if they decide the date of the game straight after the draw, or fudge around with discussions between the clubs? Probably the latter, it's never easy.
  17. Though the whole issue has its own topic, this stuck out as quite a naive thing to say. Why would he want to sign a legally binding agreement to stay at the club? So that: a. Rovers can turn down any transfer offers for him, or b. Liverpool (or whoever) refuse to pay a higher fee for him. Both leaving him stranded in a job he doesn't want anymore. We could have got a fee for him had we listened to the offer Liverpool made on deadline day; instead we kept what was at the time our only right-back and got some good (and some very average) performances in return. I can't see anything wrong with what he's done so far. Turned down a new contract and asked to leave, yet kept playing when told he couldn't go. The only things I ever berate the guy for are his silly defensive mistakes.
  18. I don't like being calm and happy. Watching us makes me angry and depressed.
  19. At amazon.co.uk it would cost £275 quid for an X-box 360 and £40 for one game. An adult and a junior half season ticket comes as cheap as £194. Hell, why not get two?
  20. Three points outside the relegation zone having played a game more than Newcastle. We're making a right balls up of this season.
  21. Our most consistent player of the season getting injured. Okay.
