I guess being positive it can't possibly be worse than last year can it?

Just watched brief highlights of all the games. Great to see Swansea conceding a ridiculous goal on opening day by pissing about with it in their own area. It's like the summer never happened!
-
Was an excellent finish on his weaker side. For the Wba goal, he was put in horrible trouble by Carter (should have gone up the line) and initially did well to retrieve it.
I would start him vs Walsall, he needs minutes and game time.
-
An opportunity to continue getting some fitness for those who need it. Markanday clearly needs more game time, so I would start him and Ennis on Tues. Both Whartons and then Batty, Hedges, Barnes hopefully to be given an opportunity. Garret too. Unsure on whether to start Leonard or bring him on after 60mins say.
Defo a game that we want to win, to not only put us in the next round, but also gives more low pressure games for the likes of Batty, Barnes, Garret etc to build experience and confidence.

Apologies if already discussed, but this insinuates that TK will start as number 1?

Great to hear the DM played well against Barnsley. Won 2 pens, assist and set up other chances.
Such a shame he didn't get loan out to league 1 or 2 last season instead of Scotland. 6 months wasted there.
Nice to see an exciting friendly with lots of goals. Nil nil in a friendly is just the worst. Concerning news on the injury fitness front, looks like we'll be going into the new season weaker, not stronger

I've decided to dedicate my life to becoming the Rovers Commercial Director so I can insist that every kit (home and away) is reversed halves.
It's really not that fucking hard, lads. It's an ok kit (although not a big fan of a dark blue away kit when we play in blue and white), but it completely throws away our USP.
Completely agree. Utterly pointless kit. How many times are we actually going to be able to use that lit away from home? Unlikely against anyone who plays in blue. So we'll be using the 3rd kit as the de facto away kit again.

Delighted to see the new contract signed. Ever since the Junior H debacle I always get a little nervous when a new contract is supposedly a 'done deal', yet weeks go by and you hear owt.
Fully deserved, hopefully he carries on his form from last season into this!

No any more BB. I live in Christchurch (New Zealand), moved over here in 2015. Is there a Nz group?!

Bloody frustrating that nobody still has any idea whether he's gonna make it or not as hasn't had a run of games. When loaning him out he needed to be playing 90 mims sat-wed in mens football. Whether that be Scotland or league 1, just needed to be the right club. But of course it's Rovers so we get it horribly wrong.
I don't see how people can't see any talent, pretty much every u21 game he had a goal and assist as well as other shots on goal. Goals in league cup.
Just needs bloody games.

How the fuck does this keep happening to us? What have we done to deserve this kind of luck?? Just ridiculous. Hand ball keeper and now an og. Just fuck off football
Everyone puts on defenders at the end of a game to hold a lead. Noone else gets mugged off like us

Yeah I was thinking the other day our away followings these days are better than they were during the mid 2000s in the prem. I remember being at a 1-1 draw away at Man City where Kalinic scored, I reckon there was about 200 rovers fans there. I also remember games like a Sunday away trip to Bolton, a Jason roberts solo goal to win it late on I think there would have only been 700/800 of us there.
For whatever reason our away following is a lot better these days, maybe we were just to comfy as a mid table prem side, if only we knew what was going to come.
I was at the Bolton one. We had the bottom right of the lower tier, I think around 1,800. Certainly alot more than 7/800.

Very enjoyable reading as per usual. We have such a fascinating range of posters!
Tickets on general sale now, with reasonable prices and the week still to I think we'll sell pretty much all of them. Start of a make or break month. Considering the other fixtures, a win on sat and we've one foot in the playoffs

I agree with the previous poster who said that we should've given them 3k, therefore the same % of capacity as they gave us.
Only I would have put them all in the lower tier closest the Riverside and opened the other half/third of the DL to our fans. And opened the DU to our fans...

When are Sheff U getting their points deduction for cheating?!

I don't think Bham are anything like the team we played earlier in the season at Ewood, when they were in v good form. Of their last 8 they've lost 5, drawn 1 and won 2.
We need to be going there and winning!

Hopefully the merger motion passes for you guys this time and Bury can be back playing football at Gigg lane for next season!

I don't want to sound like I am undermining you here in any way, but would you mind clarifying?
Can you perhaps highlight 5 things that have turned them to rock bottom 6 years ago (your words) to being in the top 10% of current owners?
Not that I'm trying to put words in his mouth, but I think it's more of an indictment of how bad football ownership is in general as opposed to anything particularly good that Venkys have done.
Kind of similar in a way JDT is like the 8th longest serving manager in the championship (or whatever it is) despite being I'm the job 8 months

Has anyone had a little peak at the next round of fixtures straight after the international week? What a stonking round.
Small matter of Pne vs Blackpool, Cardiff v Swansea and Luton vs Watford.
Then to add to that Sheff U are at Norwich and millwall play WBA!
Only really ourselves and Boro who play against teams outside of the promotion dogfight! They all can't win, so if we win we could be well clear of the chasing pack!

I know BUT I hate to call it until the fat lady sings. For example Sheff Utd might yet get a point’s deduction this week. Once it is confirmed I’ll celebrate.
Sorry I missed all that? What's the points deduction about? Dodgy finances?

Mowbray's rant last night is a classic ! Has he pressed Sunderland's self destruct button as he faces the wrath of the home fans?
I missed that, tell me more. Was it about the offside winner or being unable to compete with global giants like Sheffield United?

Maybe it's not diplomatic, but my first thought was, 'I really hope that when the clanger happens that sees Pears replaced as #1 is when we're already 3 nil up!'
