Excellent move for Markanday to go get minutes in mens football. Hope he rips that league up
Agree, really hope it goes well and he shows what he can do.
I must admit I find the way jdt has treated/used him a bit odd. Fair enough if he doesn't think that he's ready to start games. Posters who watch him in the reserves echo that view.
However I don't understand why Jdt hasn't put him on with 20 or 30 mins to go in the countless number of games where we are loosing and look bereft of creativity. What do you have to loose we're loosing anyway and then he brings on a right back and wonders why we never pick up points after going a goal down!! A hail Mary option so to speak.

Where are the bargain clever signings from Scandinavia ffs? Kompany seems to pull them out the hat for that lot from Belgium, why can't we do the same?

This is all so predictable.
Deals should have been done weeks ago.
We should have spent £10m-15m this time last year when we were 2nd and used BBD summer sale as our insurance.
Instead we did neither and are now loosing are most sellable asset for owt. Utterly pathetic

iv`e seen some dubious activity at ewood over the years, but drinking piss,is`nt that a bit specialist, personally iv`e never seen anyone doing it,they should really keep it private and do it in their own home
Haha very good. Ok 'beer' is that better?!

And who comes to Ewood to go off and miss half the game praying. Its basically virtue signalling
And who comes to Ewood to go off and miss half the game drinking piss in the concourse?
It's their choice, why does it matter?

Interestingly Bristol City are at full strength tonight in the cup. So hopefully they'll be a bit leggy come sat!

Us Clarets shouldn't get tired of cheque signing, not with our six fingers to help propel the pen along ...
That's the kind of anti-dingle self depreciating comments we like on this forum!

So here we are almost in mid Jan and not a sniff of a signing. It's the lack of planning that frustrates
What were Broughton and JDT doing during the world cup? They would have known that come the Jan xfer window, we would be round about the playoff spots no matter how bad our form was. So why arent we thinking to ourselves, ok here is an opportunity this season, we need 2-3 quality players in these xy positions. Let's go out and get them early.
If you do business in the first 2 weeks of Jan, with the fa cup game, the new signings don't miss any league games. Sign them on 31 Jan and you've already missed another few league games.
Have we learned nothing from this time last year?! Scrambling around on deadline day?

Iran should be immediately banned by Fifa. Surely that is a politisation of their football..?

I'm surprised that so many aren't raving more about the victory ysday! Especially when you read the first few pages of predictions of us getting battered..
We've just won away from home against the team in 4th*, a team favoured for promotion, at a ground that we never seem to win at! I know Norwich aren't playing great and there is some fan anger, they're still right up there tho!
Remember how we used to never win against a top 6 side or against anyone when we were in the top 6? We've been top 6 for the entire first half of the season!
I don't want to sound like a happy clapper, cos I was frustrated as anyone at the derby defeats and the inexplicable passing it about at the back. However overall he deserves a huge amount of credit.
I think it's a fantastic result and I'm delighted. Sets us up perfectly for the Christmas period!

Excellent and typical TM result. Picks up am unlikely win when things aren't looking good. Keeps in form brum from getting into the playoff spots

Bizarre subs again. I know we're 2nd but honestly his subs are a mare. Markanday and Dack are probably the 2 most desperate for 90 mins. Brings them off for 2 players who will start at burnley?!!

Markandy is raw though.. he has something about him, I'm sure he will come good
Is it straight to penalties if it stays 1-1?
Striker misses chance in headline news?! Yes should have scored, but he's not the first striker to miss an easy chance and won't be last. Encouraging to see him in those positions.

My main point has been how Dack has not been utilised at least as a sub, including on occasions when Hirst and/or Vale have been given game time ahead of him. So yes, there CAN be a comparison made between Dack and Hirst/Vale, irrespective of their best position. Dack IMO could and should have been used far more within those 8 losses whereby Tomasson has not managed to overcome a goal deficit.
I do rate him higher than Szmodics too and I would have him starting but at least Szmodics has shown some use when he has played unlike Hirst and Vale. Him being ahead of Hirst, Vale and even Dolan as a sub is very clear cut, he is miles better.
100% agree with this. And this is where mine and many other supporters frustration stems from.
If the manager doesn't want to start Dack, fair enough. I think if you were in a court you argue that as a reasonable position..
However his failure to bring Dack on when we are literally playing to the standard of a non league team (and instead plays Hirst or Vale) boggles my mind.

Watford and QPR both loosing at home. Good results for us that. Both Sheff U and QPR with very winnable midweek games unfortunately

He commented post match that it is just inconsistency and to expect it for a while. It wasnt, there were numerous incorrect decisions made by him today.
Exactly, and that is frustrating part. If you put all round pegs in round holes, make appropriate subs at the right time and we lose, then yes fair play. I'm sure that will happen plenty this season and yes we are inconsistent.
However that wasn't what happened tonight.

I don't want to be too harsh as he's got us to 2nd and he is a young manager still learning.
However he needs to take a large amount of responsibility for tonight with bizarre decision making.
1.) No Pickering and putting Brittain Lwb/ Travis Rwb. Should have Pickering lwb, Brittain Rwb and Travis in midfield.
2.) Hirst for Vale at HT. Hirst is a complete waste of space, why isn't Dack being brought on?
3.) Waiting far too long to make changes. That triple change should have taken place 20 mins before that.
All round extremely frustrating and an almost carbon copy of Cardiff and wigan.

Pleased to see the game hasn’t been switched to Wednesday as mooted which means I’ll be able to attend
Jim the albatross hasn’t seen Rovers win yet this season and I’m desperately hoping to break that record tomorrow
Brereton is out of form and looks tired and the manager needs to give him a rest. Hoping for a comfortable win but I’d take any win to make it 5 on the bounce. When did that last happen?
Lol literally midway through last season 😅

I suppose after all those late goals being conceded Longers, you were due one the other way at some stage.. 😤

Nothing about our 4th round win either. No post match reaction. No celebratory tweets, no re tweeting of players bigging up the win. Nothing.
With our cup record, being in the 5th round is a big deal!
