I think wba have had a mare there with Bruce. They've brought into the 'woe is me' media outrage when Bruce was sacked. Except Newcastle were bottom of the league. Not a good manager.

Derby have been the better team with 10 men and missed a couple of really great chances. Another rival closing in

Lost 1 nil at home to Luton. Dismal result. Nothing to fear here

Posh chairman confirms we had a bid accepted for Dembele but he opted for Bournemouth, they're really starting to get on my tits
We should have done the bloody deal at the start of the month if we wanted him! Ffs

Little bit frustrating that our rivals are going to spend money (whom that it is isn't completely clear at this point) whereas we are cheaping out again. Why don't we gamble and go for it? In the summer if we don't get promoted I daresay BBD can be sold to balance the books..

Styles and Dembele would be a guess
Both would be good signings. And TM me ol' mucker, whilst you happen to be at Luton, why don't you pop along to the chairman's office with your cheque book for Adebeyo too..

It’s not Bournemouth it’s Brentford, rumoured to be £6million.
Thanks for the memories Joe!

Is their main man fit to play?

Ended 1 a piece. Good result for us that keeps both at arms length

Lad who scored for huddersfield should have been sent off. Frustrating again with decisions I'd have fancied stoke to come away with something against 10 men. Huddersfield are in form now and another threat with qpr, forest, boro and wba

Haha fair enough, I've 3 young kids I'm not always up to speed!

What kind of fee? We've rejected £2m plus from bournemouth..
Get shot and reinvest the money in the lad from mk dons and Dembele from Peterborough.

Things look tough but not impossible, given how tight things are for spots 4 (automatic qualification to Qatar) and spot 5 (playoff vs Oceania, which is as good as qualifying really).
I don't think that's correct LB. I live in Nz and I'm sure I remember reading about the qualification draw and Oceania got North America..

Wow!! What a result.
Would it be too hyperbole to say that the result last night was the most significant, important and gutsy win since our relegation from the prem 10 years ago?
When you consider all of the ingredients..players missing, including 2 vital ones in the midfield and attack. Playing the in form team of the division managed by a very astute manager. The opportunity to open real daylight on the playoff positions and heap pressure on bournemouth. The knowledge that a defeat would gather negative momentum as well as give qpr and other below and great chance to pass us.
I was hoping for and would have taken a point. A victory is sensational.
I live in Nz now and ko was 8.45am. I spent most of the morning in the office half listening to colleagues and going to the bog every 10 mins minutes check the score.
Onwards and upwards!

Jeez Watford and Norwich are extremely poor sides..

I don't see why he didn't just keep everything the same, except like for like swaps. Travis out (for Davenport or Johnoson). RN out for Lenihan and then Ayala in like in the previous game?

We can talk about all night about wrong selections and wrong formations. However you can't play like the Harlem globe trotters every week. I blame that defeat wholly and solely on that disgraceful, cheating, biased ref. He had done his job properly then none of that selection or formation stuff would have mattered. We'd have been 1 each playing 10 men and gone on the win the game.
It keeps happening time after time. I'm sick of it. That complete tosser might have cost us promotion. And if he hasn't I'm sure another one of his idiot colleagues will.

The part that really angers me; Is he only missing the boro game cos it got rearranged to Monday? Or would he have missed it anyway?

4 zip now. Still first half. That escalated quickly..!

No pay on the day for Rovers fans at Hull. One of the most frustrating parts of post shutdown football. This inexplicable lack of being able to buy on the day. Hull's last home game attendance was 11k, in a 25k stadium. No doubt for a mid week game against Rovers it will be similar. There are 15k empty seats in the ground, why can't folk pay on the day ffs?

Rather annoying how Boro, qpr and Forest types seem to keep scabbing late goals..!

Saw on a bbc article about newcastle spending that they've been linked with Solanke with the Howe link (sorry if this has already been mentioned previously). That would be a perfect signing!

Fulham 5 zip up over Reading. The top 2 will be really tough competition!

It really is becoming one of my pet hates in football. Swindon are trying to play out from the back against City and have conceded two goals in no time at all by doing so. When the players just aren't good enough why do they try it?
Haha snap, I just said the same in the championship thread. I've watched the goal highlights from every championship game this season. The amount of goals that come from this scenario, that teams like Swansea concede is utterly ridiculous.

I'm hoping this is just a little bit of mind games in action. He arrived back in England on Thurs morning from what I understand. Game is sat evening. Get him straight in that team. There is no one else anyway cos you didn't sign a striker on Monday!
