  1. May have gone under the radar but Sheff Wed won at Millwall (now 6 clear) Barnsley drew at Cardiff (now 2 clear)
  2. It wasn't a real burial. It wasn't in Brig. A shadow event thanks to the lilly livered Lancs Contabulary
  3. Goodwillie is back. Yet London has far more choice as to which face he sticks his fist and boot into. Strange one that.
  4. If onyone thinks Goodwillie is the answer then they deserve to watch another season of Steve Kean FC
  5. Like Keans bumbdog Bradley Orr why is he going to rock the boat when he's just been given a four year deal at his age!!!! He will be one of the many wage drains when the end of the parachute payments leads to financial ruin.
  6. The 2-0 away win that season is on youtube yet this game isn't????!!!
  7. Bloody councils and police. There were no more public disorder offences in brig than you would find on a wednesday evening in blackburn centre. Can't be arsed going to ewood to see a watered down affair when the traditional event should be taking place just round the corder from me. The world has gone soft
  8. I've got the VHS but the video has been in the loft for the best part of a decade
  9. 10 years on Any youtube clips knocking around? Or can anyone upload one? cheers
  10. I'm on about the average wage...........players wages up by only 35% since 92?? i wish it's more like 3000% even for the average joes we have in our squad
  11. They can send application packs to people living on Pluto but it still won't change the fact that football ticketing is 70% higher than it should be. £4.50 in 92 £30 in 2005 increase of 666% while the average wage of fans has increased by 35% in the same period.
  12. Where's he playing these days? Thought he was bloody excellent, maybe the oldies' best player, and that's even including those still playing pro. OK, it was hardly a fast game......... PS Scuse my naivety, but why's he called Sid? 317166[/snapback] I can't remember why he was called Sid. In fact I had forgotten all about it until it suddenly popped back into my head during the match.
  13. What a good night. Though the game was obviously a friendly we can count our lucky stars as the Rovers defence in the first half that consisted of Short, Todd, Nelsen and McEveley were run fairly ragged. McEveley in particular will be praying to the gods he doesn't come up against Stuart Ripley every week who despite hanging is boots up over 3 years ago skinned Jay about 4 times. All the players from the glory era still had it.........as they say the legs go but the skill still remains. Sid was a class above and played the full 90 despite being 46. Newell still has that touch of class and an excellent first touch. Shearer was Shearer despite the lack of service to him (probably used to that from playing at Newcastle LOL!). His goal was a carbon copy of scores he scored at Ewood. The loose ball was running diagonally through the box towards the right of the goal and he swivelled and put it into Freidels opposite corner.........and received a stupendous reception with the old Shearer bow evident. Super Atko rose like a Salmon to head an excellent opener from a typical Atko-esque forward run. He ghosted into the box like the Atko of old to plant an excellent header into the corner. Gallacher also played very well showing his old turn of pace and ability to leave a man standing. Simon Garner came on for the last 10 minutes and touched the ball once Speedie also made some good touches despite being fairly rotund. Ripley was absolutely fantastic. The cheeky beggar even tried to do his old knock past and run on Jay Mac. One came off but the rest failed due to his lack of pace. but he still had the swivel and turn and very good touch and movement........and an excellent cross for Atko's header. We need this guy to train Emerton in how to cross. it was the first decent cross Ewood has seen for 2 seasons. Flowers and Mimms did well in goal. Big Colin is still wearig the same white trolleys from the laste 80's For Rovers Gallagher did well in a game that was almost as slow as he is, but scored two exellent top corner screamers (pity he couldn't shoot like that all season). Tugay was a star and possesses more skill in his left butt cheek than all the Rovers squad put together. He was showboating like nobodies business. Stead couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo. Some of his attempts were embarrassing....poor lad Garner and Derbyshire took their goals extremely well indeed. All round it was an excellent night and my old mucker Atko scored too SHEARER, SHEARER, SHEARER, SHEARER!!
  14. Why waste our time in the Inter-two-bob when the UEFA cup generates less money than the FA cup and the public of Blackburn couldn't really care less about it? (judging by past attendances) Only the champs league is the european competition worth bothering with as it generates more money. As a club official said "we hardly made any money from our last UEFA cup campaign and hardly made any the year before and that included two games against celtic"
  15. An article in the mirror "There was some concern in FA circles that the footage of Andy Todd's forearm smash on Robin Van Persie in Saturday's FA Cup Semi Final was inconclusive. Inconclusive? Let's face it this is Andy Todd we are talking about, the butcher of Blackburn. Mark Hughes should stop insulting us by claiming it was accidental, as Todd doesn't do accidental. The guy is an idiot and a thug, and fortunately the FA overcame their concerns and charges him with violent conduct yesterday. I hope he gets a long ban. While they're at it they should charge Blackburn with bringing the game into disrepute. Some of their players were tackling somewhere above the knee. 16. No but when tickets are at a premium it should goto those who have put their money and support where their mouth is i.e those prepared to make 2 trips to cardiff........namely me
  17. Just got mine too. Same story...... Only tickets left are £45 and £55. Given that there are not all that many of those in the millenium stadium and that all the £25-35 have gone then it looks like we will be pretty well supported. I bet you dont know whether to laugh or cry tmap! Tell you what you should try to think more positively than simply saying 'screw that'. Dont go and save your money instead so that you can afford the best tickets in the house for the final and then you can have a real day to remember. Hopefully the club will have extra selling phases to prevent injustices like ST holders who didn't go to the sem-final getting tickets for the final before those that did. As seats would be at a premium it should therefore be ST holders/Away ST holders who went to the Semi first and the 'excuse makers' after that. Maybe even put the non-ST holders who went to Cardiff in front of them too.....teach!!
  18. Regarding the automatic home cup ticket scheme............if people think as a ST holder I am going to sign up to that carbunkle then they are very much mistaken. Am i going to allow £20 to be debited from my account for a 2nd round coca cola cup borefest against Scunthorpe when i can put that money towards a possible semi-final ticket? However I did ring on wednesday with no problem whatsoever. Joined the queue at 54 (like for the away leg), put the phone down and went about my business whilst checking my queue status every 5-7 minutes............even managed to wangle 2 extra seats next to me behind the bburn end goal that used to be ST holders seats untill very recently. This is the first time I have ever used the phone system since moving to Didsbury, but then again my time out of Lancashire has imporved my patience and lightened my outlook on life. A rovers fans would not be a rovers fan without the need to complain........so thank the lord for Brett Emerton and the ticket office Just try to get a ticket for a top gig. Got tickets for the Prodigy in Manchester recently. Went on sale at 9am saturday. First date sold out by 9-10. Second date sold out by 9-20. Getting tickets for ewood is a breeze in comparison (and no ticketmaster rip of fees to boot). If you can't get your own seat then just get any bloody seat , thank the lord you can witness the event and channel your anger into support for the team on the night..............and god help us if we reach the final with only 15,000 tickets available
  19. so that 60 an hour, office open for 8 1/2 hours so thats 510 a day, 3 days season tickets have to claim their seats so, being generous, 1500-2000 season ticket holder could claim theire seats IF they were the only ones who could call on the first three days. Guess you will be lucky if half that number are actually season ticket holder. When you look at the figure like that I think the phones are understaffed. Edit. Forgot multiple buys, say 2-2.5 tickets each. 2-3k Season ticket seats sold by phone max. You forgot multiple sellers too......about 4 if my memory serves me
  20. The Major of Burnley will get re-elected thanks to his naked break dancing
  21. Think you may find we have Accrington Stanley to thank for that. Of course you would need to be able to read to work that out. The first plane I saw sported a banner reading Up the Clarets - The Burnley Collective Whatever that means
  22. Appearances 7 Starts 4 On as sub 3 Goals 2 Jansens Premiersoccerstats
