usually refs give 3 mins when there is absolutely nothing to stop during the 2nd half of matches,as a minimum. what was up with the two clowns!

I thought Stead had one of his poorer games yesterday.He started off well in the first half, but he was a non-present force in the second and faded out. But I do agree with the idea that our current striking partnerships are limiting us.As strange as it may seem,we might need to drop our top goal scorer to sort it out. Though I think its IMPERATIVE to sign a proven goal scorer in January and soon!But at what price and what likelihood?

Lets hope we dont lose. I really think we cant afford to drop more points against teams that we are capable of beating,but it wont be easy at the Reebok.

I think our defence is looking much more assured than even a few months ago! I still think we lack 3 quality players.1 probably in defence, since Spector will probably play left back,we will need a center back,lets hope Mokoena does the job! 1 in midfield,Id say we need a central midfielder, Savage could be the man,or maybe Dabo. But undoubtedly the position that we are most lacking is up front.WE NEED a quality striker. We have been playing better,and are hard to beat and resilient,but all that is thrown away if we dont take our chances and we arent.Our midfielders arent pitching in with too many either,so right now Dickov has scored almost a third of our goals if not more. Hughesy GET A STRIKER! On a side note, im very impressed that the drive we show so late in the game, we were trying to win the game even in the 93rd minute, the players well up for it.3 months ago they wouldve been going through the motions.

Got a sneaky feeling that MGP might get a few minutes today. I just feel that if he gets his chance, he may just do something special!

we cant keep on blaming Jump-ship Souness forever. yes he bought all these players,but on their day alot of them are decent and cant become BAD overnight. the problem is we lost alot of BETTER players without ever improving the team,instead choosing to improve the SQUAD.

Big disappointment,on a day all our rivals either won or drew. Southampton are only gonna get better with Harry. Where will we pick up points?At home to Arsenal,Newcastle,Chelsea?We just cant win,and it wont change this easily.We are on the way down. Todd was decent.He can do a job at this level,he is no Nesta but thats not what we bought.I thought he did alright today. I agree with everything else.We need a quality striker. We need a good defender and a good left back probably too. Our bench was useless,no one other than Thommo and Bothroyd who could make a difference.Why have Flitcroft on the bench?We couldve have De Pedro or MGP.We are AT HOME!

Thought both sides were poor,a draw would have been fair,but they nicked it.We lacked the bit of cutting edge quality with both our final ball and in the final third.Reid didnt run at them enough,Emerton didnt as much as last week either. I thought Tugay,Todd and Neill were all great. Undeserved defeat,we are in trouble.We had the chance to put some space between us and the other lower end teams. Im very disappointed.

I think MGP isnt good enough for the team right now,cause we have two in-form wingers,but i think the appearance fee explains why he isnt making meaningless 2 minute appearances at the end of games.If you think about it,there hasnt really been a game where we are trailing by 1 goal with 10 mins to go and MGP could have come on.Its either been draws,which our players were playing well in like last week,or big defeats like Boro and Chelsea or a comfortable lead like yesterday.

I agree,we need a striker.But I think we need a central defender even more,and I would not mind a central midfielder,if we can have three signings.Otherwise the first two. But I think Gallagher and Stead could be a great partnership in the future.Dickov is doing the business though now,I hope he can improve his finishing,cause he misses too many 1 on 1's.

Well then if his ratio isnt good enough and you aint happy with him,then God help our other strikers. Stead hasnt scored.Bothroyd has one and got one red card.Jansen is still a shadow of himself and Gallagher albeit just returned to the team has got two goals.

Dickov has been more consistent than Emerton,who only started producing when Souness went.It was like the albatross was lifted. I love Dickovs hard work,he makes so many chances and good runs and turns,he only lacks a little added quality to pull through those moves and finish then off.

Ive never posted on the topic of "appearance fees" cause i thought it was daft,until today. we all know that MGP joined in a deal that included certain breakdowns such as future games,uefa cup position,etc...people were slagging off a couple of the guys who were making up conspiracy theories earlier in the thread.Its unlikely that Hughes wouldnt use MGP if he needed him on as a sub.But i think the appearance fees explains why he doesnt bring him on in a dead game such as being 4-0 down at chelsea or 2-0 up here at fulham.i think he doesnt want him to use up the allocated appearances in meaningless games,in case he ends up being a flop,we would have to pay more. But IM SURE Sparky will use him eventually,in meaningful games or as a tactical substitution in the future.But dont expect any 2 minute run outs to get accomodated to the premiership.Bottom line is MGP is second choice right now on the left wing cause Reid and Emerton are producing the goods.

I also agree that Emerton is a different man.Last season he would be so timid and unlikely to take anyone on,no pace,sluggish and unconfident,now he is looking like a top class right winger. A bargain at the price we got him.Lets hope he continues to excel.
