  1. I take it by Eddie you mean Steady Eddie from Arsenal? Im sure the players have supported him. About the fans,I agree Id say 20% supported him probably. But so what, he has proven himself now. Flopsy that comment I made didnt have to be directed towards you, but there were many people who spoke that way, in a know-it-all manner, who support whatever the manager does without any question. Now anyway, we are past it.The only thing MGP supporters were asking was WHY didnt he get a single minute, not that he should be starting instead of others. End of Story, lets not debate about the MGP soap opera anymore. The team does well,so we are all happy.
  2. these illiterate fans seem to equate big club with big city, then ya they are right. Spurs are a big club?Newcastle?Villa?BRUM haha!!When was the last time they ever won anything?do you remain a big club after a relatively dominatable period in your history?then rovers should be a big club. But WE Never say we are. We are happy being the small town club who has done much better than it should,is run by respectable people unlike SOME clubs, and we will take any success we get with thankful arms. Btw,we finished 6th in the Premier League our second season back. We won the League Cup,our first season back up. We won the league less than 10 years ago. So what you Brummies grasping onto?
  3. By when does he have to join to be eligible for Wednesday or is that out of the question cause its a replay?
  4. What a result!Massive! Lets hope Bazza realizes we are on the way up and decides to really give it a go at Rovers. MGP,3 goals in his last 3 appearances from the left of midfield. I didnt see how his "lightweight,over-hyped,fragile body, who just couldnt cut it in his first 3 games as he was supposedly crap beyond redemption" stature affected his performance today. Goals are what count, whether he played crap today and last week, doesnt matter.he scored 2 goals and got us the 3 points today, something many of our players have not been able to do. At last we have found a goalscorer.Lets hope Stead starts scoring, and Hughes adds one more striker to our team and with Savage we have got one hell of a team to look forward to. Big SHOUT OUT to Todd who led the team today!
  5. HYPOCRITES GET YOUR STORIES STRAIGHT Murray says Barry hasnt done anything to increase his value and in fact his value has receeded,as he has been injured,etc.etc... Then Mcleish this morning is reported by Teamtalk to have said He said: "We have heard through friends and family of Barry that he would love a return - so I would love him here. He was my biggest loss. "He would bring back what he gave us when he was here. He has got better with every game down there. Another bid is obviously down to our finances." So which is it? If he has improved with every game, then shouldnt his value be the same if not more? But importantly Mcleish didnt ever say Bazza himself wants to come back.
  6. Thats only cause Gravesens contract has 6 months to run. Had Savage been in the same situation,he would have cost closer to 500,000.
  7. Bazza will leave, whether in 2 weeks or in 6 months. I hope the latter.Maybe by then he will see our form so upturned that he will decide to give it a go next year. BUT im certain that WHEN Gravesen leaves today Moyes will offer something for Ferguson OR Savage,if not both. How much will he offer? 8 million Euros?Could we say no?
  8. Everytime things begin to look up for us,we get dealt a big blow. We finished 6th and Duffer left. We saved ourselves from relegation,Cole was sold. Now,we are picking up form and Bazza is set to leave. All this not to mention Shearer leaving us in a pissspoor time.
  9. Im planning to go IF/WHEN Iran qualifies.
  10. Id expect a second bid by friday at the latest, but probably tomorrow. It will be interesting to see how quickly we wait before rejecting it,if we do in fact turn it down. I wont be happy either way with this saga.A player who would consider moving isnt totally commited. On the other hand we wont find a quality replacement for 5 million these days and in fact we are short a midfielder so we would need to sign 2 midfielders.
  11. Shame that no one will attend. Why would they decide such a thing is beyond me.Especially knowing how low our attendances already are.
  12. The way our strikers other than Dickov are performing id like to stick a 4-5-1 especially as Pompey is good at home. Id play Pedersen right behind Dickov is a roaming role,I think it would suit him well.Maybe Hughes will think the same way but I doubt it. If we go with twin strikers,Id persist with Stead, definitely no Jay.I wouldnt start MGP either in that case.
  13. Ill predict 7,000 people with Sky, closer to 10,000 without Sky.
  14. Great post LL.Completely spot on with eveyrthing ive been thinking on the topic.
  15. Hasta, He scored a goal on his first start in 3 months, his second goal in 2 games. What more do people want?Give him 5 straight starts and see what he does.If we cant afford that, then dont slag him off. If he didnt shut a few people up,then people should be banging their aheads against the wall with the fact that our strikers cant really score other than Dickov!
  16. Looks like the guy might get his chance next week against Pompey,or maybe it will be too soon for him.
  17. I think MGP had a good game and he SHUT a few people up who hadnt given him a fair chance, but who impressed me most was Mokoena. It sounded like he made quite a few good perfectly timed tackles. Now if only Matteo could defend or pass.
  18. One thing is for sure I AM CERTAIN Savage wanting a move is not about money. If Hughes was not here he would not even consider the move I would say honestly. Sullivan and the goons should quit this talk about Robbie moving for money.I hope if he signs,he comes out and says he took an X % pay cut to join us to rub it in thier faces.
  19. Time for Savage to decide. I really dont think we will hold out for him much longer.
  20. Ive read that Hughes has allowed MGP to travel with Norway's B team to the Middle East for 10 days from January 20 or thereabouts. Vote of confidence...Doesnt bode well. Hope he gets his chance today and shuts his critics up.
  21. How much of a chance does Mokoena have to start. Him and Amoruso, hmm not too convinced with that partnership. Hopefully Short or Nissa one of them plays.
  22. Steve Bruce is a mercenary himself.Always leaving the club he was with for another one in the middle of the job. Rejecting Newcastle was the first time he had stasyed put.I dont expect him to stay at Brum for long.He will continue his ditching trend.
  23. If Gravesen leaves, expect Everton to slide down quickly. Kiss goodbye to 4th place thats for sure.
  24. I dont think its cut and dry that we will progress. Im thinking we could go down 1-0 or 2-1
