  1. I love Mars Attacks! It was very funny. Starship Troopers was OK, but I couldn't help thinking "They have effing spaceships, so why are they using mass infrantry tactics like World war 1? where's The Death Star type thing?" Well that and that everyone looked about 20. I can't remember any old experienced soldiers being there.
  2. It was based on a comic wasn't it. I'd want a huge 3 hour film that shows all the politics and different characters involved. That's why I like Tora! Tora! Tora!, and not Peal Harbour, or prefer A Night to Remember over Titanic. It shows the events within a greater context, and is not all big explosions and crap diologue.
  3. Would you rather they spoke in that Aussie tone that sounds like they're asking a question? even when they're not? And then they add that slightly whiny quality some Australians have when they speak? Nah, they should have all put on p_ss-take New Zealand accents. "Wi mahst fight to tha dith bros. Are you with me?" "YIS!" The film would probably be much better. Never fancied 300. From the clips I saw, it looked like a load of men in pants shouting. No story, or characterisation. It's a shame as the story behind the Greco-Persian war would make a great film. This is coming from someone who loves all the old epics from the 1950's and 60's, especially El Cid.
  4. I hope I am wrong by being a bit uncertain. Hopefully he'll be like Dogbrush for Chelsea. Inconsistent to start with and then next season BANG!!! he's great.
  5. He's scored two fewer league goals than Dogbrush, and cost about a tenth of the price. Bargain.
  6. Forgot about Street Fighter. That really stank, but thankfully it wasn't Raul Julio's last film before he died. Even that didn't finish Jean-Claude Van Damme's career though.
  7. I don't think Nonda really improves the first team enough to be worth £2m. He might be a useful squad player from what I've seen, but that would put him in the £500,000-1m bracket. Especially with the fairly high wages. If we want a player to be able to boost the first XI, Nonda isn't the man.
  8. Turd Moor is probably one of the few grounds where black players used to throw bananas at the spectators.
  9. Nor am I. Can't afford it, and the tickets sold out in minutes. So the bloke from The Streets does the knob twiddling in the background full time now? Sounds like he's an unofficial member of the band like Rob from Supergrass was for a long time.
  10. Was that a computer game before the film? I don't know as it was about 1982 when the film was out, so I would have been 1. That would be the exception to the rule though, you'd have to admit.
  11. England has never been my country, well apart from in sporting matters. Anyway, wasn't there a similar case to this Maddy girl some time ago, when a little boy was stolen in Greece?
  12. I can top the inevitable crapness when the phrase "comic to movie is used". Ladies and Gentlemen, I give to you the phrase "computer game to movie". Has there ever been a good film that has come out of a computer game? Mario Brothers? Mortal Kombat? doom? erm, not those examples anyway.
  13. Completely forgotten about that site. No doubt my country has disappeared (can't remember what it was called now).
  14. Never really watch super hero films myself, although I have seen the Batman films from the 1st Tim Burton one, to the one with George Cluney, which was utterly diaboloical. Not seen the Christian Bale one. However, I stand by the statement that the best superhero film is actually The Incredibles. It whips the arse off any CGI crap like Spiderman, as it is fully animated, and is just brilliant. Never liked Spiderman, he seemed dull, and the baddies were a bit lame. as for the recent films, the CGI just looks like a cartoon, and doesn't look realistic when applied to actual scenary. I may have brought this up before, but I should watch this film again sometime:
  15. Benni is a lazy sod, but can put away enough goals to forgive him. With an energetic, stong and quick strike partner, like Roberts perhaps, we can get the best out of him. As for Berbatov, he has only been bigged up because he plays for Spuds, a media favourite.
  16. The Streets may be there, as the bassist who is with him/them covered for Muse's bassist when he broke his hand before the V festival in 2005. So they might help out and bring them in. But please, no emo crap like My Chemical Romance or nobodies like the talentless Lily Allen. Support should be Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster, Tomahawk and Depeche Mode.
  17. I like Casino, Gangs of New York and Taxi Driver (although I can't understand why Travis is seemingly free after murdering 2 or 3 people). Goodfellas was pretty good, but there are only so many gangster films about. Di Caprio seems to have replaced De Niro as the actor Scorsese always has in his films.
  18. Nonda is OK, but we should get a better player if we want to go for Europe every season.
  19. Isn't The Simpson's Movie out this year? I hear that Bart jumps over some sharks on a skateboard in one scene (our American posters will explain what I mean). No doubt it'll take many millions of £ even though the show has been crap for 10 years.
  20. Wasn't The Departed loosely based on the Hong Kong film Internal Affairs, which may have starred Chun Yow Fat?
  21. If we don't make Europe, we should sack Hughes and bring back Graeme. He got us into Europe twice, and didn't mess about with lazybones like McCarthy. He was a tactical genius way ahead of his time, and it was the players fault that they were too stupid to understand them. Matteo on the left wing would have done wonders on Christiano Ronaldo, as his tracking back and defensive know how would marked him out of the game. Would MGP be able to do that? SOUNESS IN!!!!!
  22. I forget what she looks like in that film other than having really bad beachball tits, and the kind of grin Ronaldinho sees in the mirror. That film tries so hard to be 'erotic', but ends up as sexy as Last of the Summer Wine. Has anyone seen the Steven Segal film [Exit Wounds? I was disappointed as it was actually not that bad. Well, it was one of the better Segal films.
  23. Oooh I can see it now..................... We'll have Paddy Kielty and Kate Thornton presenting it on ITV. And the contestants will be: James Hewett Jimmy 5 Bellies Jade Goody Ex 400m runner Mark Hilton Cory Haim Tara Palmer-Tompkinson Rikki Lake The short one from The Young Ones 'That blonde from Hollyoaks or something who still looks good' Gary Glitter (i.e.the 'Barrymore' contestant) Anyway back to the subject of films, I remember seeing that film about strippers from the early 90's a few moths ago on Channel 5. Showgirls I think. God that film was bad. It was like Flashdance but with more tits, and all the depth and emotion removed. Showgirls is a film about strippers, and it makes you think to yourself "I must remember to buy some felt to do the roof of the shed".
  24. History may have been very different if youtube was around in the 1930's...................... The Jamie Oliver one was good.
  25. The Running Man is a good film. It is a bit dated, but I always liked the idea. Just like Logan's Run. Fantastically dated, but a great idea.
