I presume Jumper is not about a man who finds out that he becomes a superhero when he wears a magic sweatshirt.

It is a good return. I haven't wanted to slap Chris Martin after hearing that new single yet. Why do people think that Nickelback song is so great? Has everyone forgotten about real rock music? Am I in a parallel universe where Ace of Spades, Appetite for Destruction and The Who never existed? That Rock Star crap is typical of the MOR whinging arse gravy that people who listen to Kiss FM think is rock. It isn't. It's rubbish that teenagers mums are supposed to like to try and look cool in front of their kids' friends. -

I thought he was married already. Go past any news stand, and the Hello/Heat/OK type magazines have had crap about the wedding for about 3 years. No doubt his family at Longleat and Whipsnade will be swinging in their tyres out of happiness for him. -

Result. That little souse thug has got his just desserts. No-one should go thoughout their lives beating people up at the slightest provacation and get away with it. Hopefully the Dabo case will extend his stay in prison. He has a two year ban on my Football manager game as well! Speaking for what he can do on the pitch, I wouldn't want him. He's only occaisionally good, and often gets angry and dirty. With our reputation, he'd get 8 red cards per season. -

So in short, the Glazers' buy-out has probably kept Man U's financial growth in check with debts, intrest payments etc. Is that an accurate summing up? -

Perhaps Marcelo Lippi disagreed with the smoking ban. That said, you'd have expected someone with a higher status to be tempted to move into Loftus Road. Someone like......I don't know......Martin Jol perhaps. Or maybe even Sven! -

[Archived] Podger Prescott
Billy Castell replied to thenodrog's topic in I Can't Believe It's Not Football Archive
I have sympathy for Prescott if he does/did have bulimia. Eating disorders are bad things to have, and people who have them need to be helped, not spat on. Then again, this is the brown and unpleasant land that creates people who would rather see someone suffer than try to help. -
[Archived] Ashley Cole
Billy Castell replied to SuperStella's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Ashley Cole has been seen as a nob for a while. The whole 'I left Arsenal to win things' guff, the feeling that he swans about London giving it the big 'I am' etc. He's just another arrogant bling boy who's a product of the silly wages and lack of education in football. I am surprised at the reports with Wes Brown. Ferguson is not exactly the 1st person you'd like to take on in wage demands, and Brown isn't integral in Man Utd's plans. I can see Brown being shunted to some place like Spuds or Newcastle on daft wages, and a player like Simpson taking the step up to fill his place. Either way, I doubt Brown will get a shot at winning the league next season. -

We should all send in our CVs with our achievments whilst playing FM . One of us could get lucky. Would love to see Lippi, Riijkaard or Capello take over and given a free hand. But I doubt that would happen, and we'd get John Bond, Peter Reid or Barry Fry because the FA want their coaching staff, and they'll be skint. -

Saw a teletext message responding to another suggesting David, and it was the usual rubbish, stating he should be in the Tower of London, never mind an England shirt. I doubt Bentley will get a proper chance for a while. -

And to think that some wanted him here. He should be banned for a year for his persistent violence on and off the pitch. He is a disgusting little twerp who should be put in the cell next to his brother. -

[Archived] Toshack Blames Hughes
Billy Castell replied to RovertheHill's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Toshack (aka 'The testicle' if he is in Turkey), is blaming Hughes for a problem that is of his making. Hughes may have relied on aging players like Hartson and Savage, but they were the best Wales had, as Earnshaw is a 1st Division level striker, and Gabbidon is plain average. However, it was the Testicle that had insulted many senior players, burnt his bridges and thus not allowed them to pass on their experience to the younger players coming through. He can't develop players, and his man management skills are 0, so it is the Testicle who has caused the problems, not Hughes. He knows that the only job he can get after this mess is either Mansfield Town, or if he is really lucky, some rich Arab place with no clue. -
It sounds like McLaren is trying to curry favour with the scummy England fans by not defending Bentley. Quite a cowardly act by a spineless, inept and clueless manager.

Forgot that it was my dad's birthday that day as well. I can remember listening to it on the radio, and it sounded stormy. Not a match to take small kids and the nervous.

Sorry, I felt like being naughty. Couldn't find anything I wrote as I don't think I was on board at the time. I think my choices were 1. Strachan 2. Dowie 3. Hughes. And there was not much between them. Surprised at USABlue's hostility at the time. -

I'd laugh at West Ham and say "If Bent is worth £16m, Bellamy £8m, and Dyer £6m, then pay us £20m". I'd settle for £15m, but only if we have sorted out a replacement worthy of coming. And how would he score fewer goals with a better forward alongside him? £8m is a joke.
