  1. Lee- I volunteer my spanish speaking capacities if required !!!
  2. If he's fit - and that's a tremendous leap. Then it's all positive. But judging from his last campiagn. 1. Strong leadership capacity & 2. Aerial Strength & solid defender 3. relative youth (compared to our current crop of central defenders) 4. Improves depth of squad. Would he come cheaply, thou?
  3. Thanks for the Great news, Z-Man. wonderful news... love to have #8 back in the Rovers setup. Happy Day !!!
  4. Inspiring to see that he chose us over 8 other candidates... and as some have stated here previously- certainly it can't be due to our deep pockets. Good to see that mr. dickov has chosen the halves for 04-05... good taste. The signing can only be positive as it should barely dent the transfer kitty. Hope JW/ GS now concentrate it on more young blood for the back 4 and midfield.
  5. Morph, If you enjoyed Moreno...... Once Caldas have a midfielder by the name of Valentierra that is a joy to behold.. doesn 't run or mark much- but has the sweetest of touches... class oozing from his left boot. That Colombian team is fun to watch as they string passes up and down the field.. I can also see Cali stuffing River as you say, as last fall they hammered them 4-1 in Cali... Love to see the River prima donnas get kicked in the gonads ! Also, these matches are extremely explosive .. I really don't know how the refs do it... enjoy it.
  6. Well, I'm not saying I've got any answers, BC... just annoyed that competition is being stifled. If you start chasing after teams/clubs that are propped up by gov'ts.... blooming eck, we might not have enough teams to field a league...... I know what you are referring to with Real and the sweetheart land deal with the Madrid city council, I would imagine that stuff is rife within football.... another one you might or might not know is River Plate's association with the Military dogs that ruled Argentine for 8 years... utterly sickening.- and hence River Plate can't lose enought matches for my taste (hopefully, they can start tonight against Cali). By the way, if you MB denizens are suffering your own personal Football Jones' - catch the Libertadores matches this week... all tremendous matches: Boca/Sao Caotena (spelling?), River-Cali, Santos/Once Caldas & San Pablo-tachira... of all these teams, only Tachira is a cinderella... cracking good football, brazilian genius, colombian passing, Argentine... well... whatever they're good at... it's been a great tournament up to date... tune in and turn on ! ec
  7. I never thought I'd hear myself saying this, but, FIFA needs to step in somehow and lay down the law against what the Ruski is doing.- at least in the interim. Whilst I think that other forces will ultimately bring down that swine in the long-term, Blather needs to protect clubs against the pig at the trough routine that RomanSKI is performing. I see in many papers (Argentine) that Veron and Crespo want out and there are others that these two will not name... you can slag Veron off all you want-but Crespo is class, and if anyone thinks that he can't cut it in the prem, yer mistaken- the guy simply needs to play & at ease, not looking over his shoulder at the touchline for his substitute. Guys just want to play and take their curtain calls (if you will)... when you stick 40 players from 4 corners of the globe and force them together and institute a rotation sytem- you are bound to get many dissentors... I imagine that Duffers can't be happy about his choice...COME HOME, IRISH LAD !!! Perhaps this is mostly wishful thinking, but the Chelski rev. cannot succeed... It just can't. Sorry Stamford Bridge, but this spring I actually supported another team other than a British side in a continental match... JUST CAN'T & WON'T ! Anyway, thanks for letting me prattle on about my 'least favorite' topic- Thievin' Roman.
  8. I'm not certain which I'm happier about... Our possibilities regarding Pedersen or Yorkie's ewood exit.... Our Man Dwight: In like a lion and out like a yorkie... Don't let the door hit you on the arse on the way out, DY!
  9. Like Maniche, Zahovic, Drulovic, Jardel, Candido Costa, Deco... Who?
  10. That was fully deserved. -go ahead dock me for 2 demerits-
  11. Question: Shouldn't silly or 'handbags' posts or retorts such as mr. dunn16, not count as part of the post tally for that person? Doesn't seem right that they get credit for posting drivel- I always thought if you'd nothing to add, to keep it zipped. now watch me get promptly slapped down.
  12. Hey Joey, Just for giggles, maybe we can swap tiny for douglas... maybe at halftime... playing tiny at wing and douglas at wing full...
  13. What is the over/under on tiny own-goals? Play him at right fullback, Brucie !!!
  14. No Worries Fellas, Been watching rivaldo the past 3 years and I think he was already losing the plot before Japan... was in Brasil this past year and I saw a handful of Cruziero Libertadores matches (4 or so). He's lost all his speed - only the guile remains (jaded)- He was not a difference maker even in South American club competition against small time Peruvian teams... so, I think he's passed his sell by date. From what I 've heard, his health problems all originate from a very poor childhood and horrendous nutrition growing up..... Poor bloke.
  15. thanx for the great read... great questions from one and all.. thanx again. I'm not sure all ex-Rovers feel that way, I don't think I've ever heard a decent thing about rovers from LeSaux for instance: but sod him. Glenn- what was in your half eaten pie, that might explain the lack of access... no ?
