  1. I'm thinking Bazza IS A BRASILIAN GRANNY. Anyone catch the match at the weekend, did the wee lad even play? I would think a match at San Siro vs. Italy for WCQ is as big as it comes. Maybe not as big as an OF, apparently. His desertion was the best thing that could have happened to Rovers. Perhaps the medicine didn't taste good going down, but in the long run - you'll see. For the best. Tremendous bottler.
  2. Radagast, would that make you scottish???
  3. As previously mentioned: it has to be the Benny Hill theme
  4. Break the FA whores ?? surely, something lost in the translation???
  5. It appeared that MGP's deliveries went south sometime during the second half of Sunday's match.... knee hi balls and wasted chances too close to GK.
  6. A bit different from the last visit to Anfield.... Very ugly, but I'm certain we'll all take ugly all the way thru May if it brings these results !! I think I may have put the whammy on MGP by calling him the Norweigan Maradona. Should I tone it down some ? Perhaps the Norweigan Zola? Go On Rovers !!!!
  7. Tooting Rover..... I have too other than the odd Nicholson article. cheers.
  8. Two questions: 1. Who is the dolt, Philip Cornhole @ F365? 'while rovers' look at best another Southampton.' and 'Both Blackburn and ....... were lucky on Sunday......' save your time-don't read the rest. what a prat. 2. So the big, tattooe'd fat breasted supporter was a Leicester supporter? Do we have anything that resembles that?
  9. Flopsy..... STAY ON TOPIC !!!!!!!! this is Lily's thread!
  10. Hardly a pretty match. IMO, Leicester never threatened Brad & our back four again provided strength, coverage and a good number of lengthy runs by the wingbacks. I was certain that we'd have a Steadinho sighting at the halfway point-but I won't quibble. Just to blow off some euphoria... I've got a few points and err....pints. 1. I was certain that DeVries was trying to out-Dickov our Dickov... by all rights he succeeded.... by constantly whinging at Barry, he essentially isolated HIMSELF. stupid tack to take - he was dangerous at first & it looked as he may have had a shout or two for a call (especially at the top of the box) ... but after 15 minutes in-he was a yellow card in waiting. 2. I was impressed by Nisse's 60 yard 'sprint' on the ball during the 2nd half... he 's as ungainly as they come and he'll never be confused for Cafu.... but you cannot question his commitment to the club. 3. The foul that earned Dickov his yellow card was atrocious... no need for that. 4. Love to watch Nelson ( e or o.. whatever) and Cap. Andy play together. To my untrained eye it appears as they've developed a great understanding-in a relatively short period of time. I am shocked at the Admiral's quick adaption to the Premiership. 5. Is MGP the Norweigan Maradona? With the exception of a corner kick or two... Pedersen strikes a sweet ball.. unfortunate that we couldn't jump on top early like that... certainly we'd see a better, more open game. BTW:does anyone else get that feeling that he'll get one off a set piece soon, why not against the North London Frogs? 6. Not certain I'd like to see the Barcodes at the moment. (even if Bowyer had every intention of gifting Spuds an equalizer) It apears that Dyer has emerged from his funk and Given had another blinder... If they are indeed next for us.. I reckon we'll need to watch the early onslaught. The Geordies have learned to nurse the early lead in the past few weeks. 7. Well done, Sparky. Oh, almost forgot: Bazza-yer still a soft, little chav. Sorry this club wasn't the big enough stage for you. Cheers Lads... have a few celebratory rounds and get the frame of mind set for the Scousers.
  11. Hey American... i'm wearing brown socks... what's wrong with that??? Oh my !!! A Tom Pringle sighting !
  12. Better yet -- 'the harder they fall ' when he have to take on the big boys you know... like Brum.
  13. my apologies gbax... you point has been taken. It is not you that has my knickers in a twist just your idea. I strongly prefer simplicity.... if every team that's won a premiership medal starts sporting stars or other accoutrement... IMO, the next step is for clubs to starting denoting first old division championships... no? Where will it all end, man ???? I suppose I'm just an old, raving & drooling git... but all I want on my team's kits is the blood, sweat and tears of the lads wearing them... ( supporters excluded, of course. ) cheers
  14. Ok, so we can be like the rest of the footballing world? No thanks.. You wanna see stars, tune into a Juventus or Milan match. There isn't anything wrong with the Rovers kit that a "FA Cup Championships" stitched on it couldn't rightfully cure. There's alot to be said for tradition, gbax. Leave the stars on the kits for the somenex err... Seria A.
  15. I hope we bring our scoring boots for this Sunday! Throttle them, Rovers.
  16. I'll echo the 2-0 business. Not a walkover, but comforable, with the Admiral running a tight ship at the back... (sorry. ) Pedersen/Stead.
  17. cheers all- I disagree with those of us that would like to keep Lily at Sparky's right hand on the bench. I find that a onorous idea--why penalize Lily for his fire? Like it or not, he's the crown jewel of our midfield. Nevermind that the 'lad' cost 3 million ... he's still feeling his way into the team (remember the short amount of matches he's played for us) & needs all the time on the field to assert himself into the side. Little than a month ago we were all doing backflips at his arrival, now there's a pocket of supporter that wish him on the bench??? I'd also like to echo Flopsy's opinion (you can wire the usual amount, flop) regarding Dickov. His skill sets make him the perfect 'super sub'. He rarely includes others into his play, he's scrappy and energetic, and his finishing can be suspect. IMO, he'd be ideal coming off the bench for the last 20 minutes where he can harry backs, nip at heels like a terrier and force ill-advised passes for us to pounce on... (hey... it could happen.)
  18. At the risk of sounding like a fool... I must say that when I heard Dickov was being subbed by Jonny Stead I was over here yelling that this was Jonny's game to win. Having to step out for an errand and then come back to this lovely bit of news.... I am well over the moon ! Well done to the Lads & time to increase the account, Jonny. All is Forgiven well, now we've vaulted over Foolham & Pompey...is that massive club what's next for our boys in blue???
  19. Lee- You fellows at the MotherShip best stock up on the Amoruso and Matteo backgrounds... I can see the club site going down with all the traffic from the lads pulling those two down !!!!
  20. This is not the transfer topic thread... but it seems the right place for it as it's a response to Rover6's request for more flair: Cesar Delgado- left winger cum striker. inexplicably sold to Mexican Cruz Azul last year has really taken off regardless of the poor play in Mexico [or maybe because of it... ]. He figured prominently in Bielsa's Olympic campaign and current WCQ runup... Great on the ball, cheeky, loves to take people on, great passer of the ball... all his assists are within the six yard box-(hilights his reduced space skills and vision). very pacy, and as you can imagine- loves to get stuck in! Young man, too, I don't think he's past 24 yet.
  21. Wow... That is a bit shocking. Having his choice of Lucas, emo, Lily. I am quite shocked at the acting captain. this is his...what... fifth match for Rovers?
  22. Anyone kind enough to shout if they know why I can't get sound on match console??? grrrr.
  23. Congratulations, Rosie.... First mention of the wee soft laddie ! Well Done !
  24. If for some reason that a spare ticket shakes free- I propose that we allocate it to Tugay's invisible friend.. this way we can assure that he'll stay off the pitch. By the way, I hope you are wearing more comfortable shoes these days, Debs. We can't have you teeter/tottering like that anymore.
