  1. Wow..... 'Dithering, compared to Stan Laurel, flatters to deceive'.... You guys really don't like Bert, uh
  2. I think i'm swimming against the current regarding Emo... perhaps his wages are a bit too high for a squad player, but good squad players we'll be needing for our sojourn into Europe. UNLESS, of course he scores a hattrick vs. Japan ( ) and has a blinder vs. Brasil (Hey, it's possible ). Then by all means to paraphrase Gordon Gecko: SELL ! SELL ! SELL ! I guess what i'm trying to say is: Don't sell Emo just because he's been dodgy the past 2 years, but if circumstances (WC performance) dictate a profit, I"m sure Sparky will know what to do..
  3. I'd fancy an early fall sojourn into Prague, the beer is brillant. Bulgaria has a great selection of 'spirits'. I'm still hungover! Where the Rovers must venture, I just hope that the league form doesn't suffer, we've had too many examples of this.
  4. Are any Argentina matches available?
  5. Maybe we can persuade some of those tough muthas at Barcelona to ding up a few of the Arse in the meantime
  6. Good summation this. I wish I could attend this match, Rovers have brought me alot of joy this season. I just hope Sparky continues to marshall his clout (read $$$) this summer, makes a few typically astute puchases and pushes us yet on into the European elite. Great days to be Rovers' support. Go out and have a wonderful time, whoever contributed the shout that we should give the lads a loud, warm embrace afterwards is spot on !! I want to think that we'll handle this mob of miscreants as 1864 puts it.. 2-0. Pack the house and deliver a right hammering.
  7. I agree w/ OZ on this. There is no room for romanticism if BRFC are to make the next step. Conversely, this move would only make sense if we were in the Big Club's position and needed to consolidate our support and talent for a run back at the Premiership. We can't dish out a good chunk of our transfer kitty on a player we KNOW will spend 85% of the season on the treatment table. We've had enough of that w/ Amo, Gresko et al. Cheers
  8. Lee, Can you use your massive influence to persuade Rovers to jet to LA in mid-July for a quick tournament w/ Barcelona, San Lorenzo of Arg. and whatever else they are looking to dredge up from the MLS? Please ?!?!?!?
  9. One other thing we can deduce from Brum's departure: DJ & Tiny have finally found their level.
  10. That's a good laff. Well done !!! ps-- ( I was half expecting a right cross to the jaw or a Cantonesque kick to the chest... but that would'nt be the Admiral, right.... but Toddy.)
  11. I sit corrected. I agree with you Matt, Arsenal were by far the better side... but Villarreal came up to London to 'speculate' on the result. By scraping by on a 0-1 result, it leaves an opportunity to overturn the score at home... we'll see next week, then. cheers, al
  12. Granted they were quite fortunate to avoid a pasting, Villarreal looked as they just came north to defend 'their serve'. Last nights' 0-1 at the Library allows Villarreal a real shot at going forth against Barcelona (where unfortunately, it'll be over). By avoiding a hammering, they have left themselves a chance to sneak a victory at the Madrigal in a fortnight. Of course, to do so Riquelme must do some homework & suss out Arsenal's speed... tall orders, I know.... but who's say? (I for one, will be anxiously awaiting to see how he deals with it as it 'll speak volumes how he'll deal in Germany) After all, that home turf advantage may work for them! I doubt that a penalty shout will work against in Spain. All it takes is two goals..... Doable.
  13. OH Den... Sitting behind Sullivan & Gold.... that must have been delightful ! We could run a 'insert joke' contest based on that scenario.
  14. Thanks for the snapshots, SSlater. Keep 'em coming! I especially liked 'lil chav gets kicked out', with the guy throwing up the 'sign' down in the lower corner, liked 'barmy army', althou they don't really look all that barmy, do they.. mostly bored sh*teless ! Very nice.
  15. I"m crossing my fingers that we'll see a return of Rovers' cracking form after many weeks in the wilderness. Our play has been too erratic of late, too lacklustre-- my hopes are Sparky can again light the fire under the lads... I remain optimistic (if not delirious) we can put an end to 'Arry's purple patch. Pompey 1 -- Rovers 3
  16. I"m chained to my desk this afternoon & it'll cause me to miss even the televised match on FOX. Does anyone have a decent radio link to catch this? Just because I have to be here, doesn't mean I have to pay attention, does it ? Much obliged guys-- C'mon Rovers, Get into em !
  17. I was just thinking how wonderful it'll be to see Stephane huffing and puffing as Bells waltzs circles around him. I hope our home support will trigger a nice, wide-open Rovers victory. 3-2 Rovers will do for me.
  18. Sounds like we'll no longer have LeSulk to kick around No loss !
  19. You guys beat me to the punch with the Whelan story. I too had the same reaction, promote your own boss for the Manure job ! Clearly, he is engaging in a bit of gamesmanship here in light of the important fixture this weekend. I want to stuff them with all my heart, C'mon you Blues ! Are we sure this Whelan character has a soft spot for Rovers (as he claims)? It certainly doesn't appear to be the case this morning.
  20. Well Done Rovers !!!!! Joint 4th. place along with Spuds. (should we be for cheering Big Club today ?)
  21. I can't make out the commentator's brogue, but I believe Bells has notched another... this lads' pricetag is increasing by the minute, Liverpool !!!
