  1. Strangest thing: This past weekend, I pulled my 2004-05 Kappa away kit (Mustard Yellow) from the dryer (granted it was in there in error, damned missus) and the HSA panel was cracked. I pulled the fabric apart and the panel came off relatively easy. But what surprised me was that there was another HSA decal beneath it, in fabulous shape.... is this the norm? or did I win the lottery? Also I've just run into this site, pretty funny. enjoy. Ugly kit site Also.... what's up with this crap? Thumbholes????
  2. Cletus... you watched 'gimme shelter' by Albert Maysles. Tremendous movie. Pretty shocking to see the violence from the stage, that scene when the Jefferson Airplane was on stage was pretty riveting. Do you recall one scene when the Stones are playing 'Under my Thumb' (favorite tune, by the way), the camera pans to a Hell's Angel in the middle of some crazy drug trip.... that was WILD. I've finally gotten my copy of Muswell Hillbillies'.... this on the heels of Village Green Preservation Society & Arthur, you can see I've jumped head first into the pool of the Kink catalogue. I'm shocked this music had eluded me before, I'm loving it & my wife has banished it to the ipod because she's tired of hearing it on the carousel. You don't have to be 50 to enjoy music created during the best period for Rock, 1965-1975. Mr. Colin (but maybe 40.) Huge Floyd enthusiast- I guess I throw the genius tag at Syd because of my deep appreciation of the Piper album, clearly all else that follows is dodgy... but I enjoy them for their crazy warts and all. Althou I am no fan of the Floyd output since Animals, I can say I prefer the Gilmour half of the act more these days --if only because Roger seems a right lunatic. (not a good reason, is it?) Anyway, in my little world, it's always 1972 and the Floyd are playing in Pompei and Echoes is fresh & new and DarkSide is but a glean in the eye of Roger & David. cheers
  3. Glad you didn't get into a detailed account of your night, DBirch. These past few weeks i'd just gotten into Love (their first 4 album/original lineup) and have really been grooving out to it, but this past Friday i'd come to learn that Arthur Lee has past away. That on the heels of Syd Barrett..... it's very sad, gentlemen, two genius' go within a span of 3 weeks. very sad day.
  4. Good shout, Flopsy! i'll nominate 'Send in the Clowns'..... Judy Collins (Like I do every year in this thread).
  5. dont' laugh Drake, My missus threatened me w/ the very same treatment if I went to Germany for the footy matches this summer ! Poor Poor Youri!
  6. Get ready for the protests. I can't say I've watched more than 5 minutes of any REdBull/MetroStar match --but from the little sample I didn't hear nary a reference to Mattie Jansen. I would imagine that when the new regime blew in they binned all the plans. cheers
  7. how about colin hendry. or maybe Lesulk-so he can bore us with his droning & whinging... uh...... come to think of it- never mind, forget that.
  8. silly sidebar to this thread... but have I missed Rovers introduction of a europe kit?
  9. one wonders if Sparky even wanted to go thru this exercise..... or is that a Souness thing?
  10. Philip, How dare you badmouth our European side????
  11. That hammers board makes from great reading... what a nasty bunch of tossers! Why are people slagging Shefki........the lad makes do with limited skills, we should be kissing his arse as he is all of us personified! There should be plenty of room for him at BRFC. loyalty, lads.
  12. A warning to JW for when the time comes to re-negociate w/ Ryan. If he indeed attended Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, then he's one sharp cookie. Hope the Arse talk is just that: he's been nothing short of brillant and seems a loyal servant of Rovers.
  13. Thanks for locating those pics. Some very nice action shots of Reidy. it also looked like the photog fell in love w/ Agathe as he really figured in the frame. Particularly liked the picture of Hughsie pointing the way, that's my screen saver this morning. cheers
  14. I too have the 1960 FA Cup Final kit from Toffs. Hands down the best kit that ever shows up to my 5 a-sides! I also have a few Kappa shirts, home and away, that gold shirt that I got for 5 pounds during the last RoversWorld clear out.... I started washing these by hand in the sink & hand drying them. After a few weeks of that , I started using the gentle cycle of the washer, but still no dryer. i've had no problems with the rather large HSA sticker (althou sometimes I wish it would come off.)
  15. Perhaps so, Aussie. can't see i'm up to speed on the russian front. it certainly makes sense for him to cash out of that mess. but if that's the case, RA's kitty can't be bottomless, can it?
  16. Go Easy on the Stella, Jordan. if you're gonna post updates @ 4 am-- couldn't you furnish the mb with a rosetta stone- type index we can utilize to decipher your ramblings?
  17. Didn't Crespo also make noises about italy? Or has that already happened? The other issue is: Putin reclaiming many industries back in State hands, how long before a standoff between Putin and RA? Really only one winner of that, no? Is that a chink I see in the '1000 year Reich'?
  18. If there's any truth to it all, the roads surrounding Liverpool will be that much more dangerous once this character moves over there. A strong argument for taking mass transportation?
  19. well, you'd be right to question the logic. but in my mind, adding a younger wingback allows you to perhaps cull an older centreback, whose replacement can be slotted in from the squad. Grasping, but hey-- I'd love to pair Ayala w/ Nellie and it's no crazier than some of the other deluded stuff we read here.
  20. Hey... if Valencia have indeed just purchased Del Horno ---those Ayala whispers might just truth.. (He says as it all sinks in)
  21. He indeed did say that Eddie, but perhaps our Brad hasn't checked his map recently-- as Columbus happens to be in Ohio.
  22. That Cercle Bruge kit looks like a Mexican import. All the mexican strips have that level of 'eyesoreness'. hideous.
  23. I was at that match.... we were right hammered. Very painful the train ride back to London.. lots of gooner grief directed my way.
  24. Fun site Fun site to lose a few hours of 'productive day'....
  25. That's fine... your prerogative. But, I'll be in pub with dozens of expats screaming at those 'dirty' portuguese. If I was truly confident, i'd say see ya in the final... but alas i'm not.
