  1. Good to see it on. BBD looking like he’s out for quite some time (see Mellor’s latest post), our form, the weather. Someone needs to stand up and be a hero today to get us back on track. Must win. COYB.
  2. You were spot on about Rothwell first, so I’m not doubting this. I posted yesterday about the boot and crutches too which were more than ominous. That could well be that for our play off chances if he’ll only be back for a few matches. Just goes to reiterate what a shit show of a window it was given the complete lack of goals elsewhere in the side. It was all too obvious and you can’t say TM and the club weren’t warned right up until deadline day.
  3. I don’t see any goals in any of the teams that people are posting. None. Could I come up with something better?! Probably not! Our best hope is that our 50p head defenders finally find the right side of the coin tomorrow from a set piece.
  4. Make of it what you will, but BBD has crutches and a protective boot on in Dack’s video on Instagram. I’m no physio, but can’t imagine he’ll be back for a couple of matches at least.
  5. @Rovers: TM on Brereton Diaz: "He's in good spirits, but he's not going to be available for the next game or two.He twisted his ankle, it could be a few days, few weeks, few months. Let's wait and see." As an aside, Ayala is out again. The winter break strikes yet again for our Spaniard.
  6. How many career goals do those guys have between them? Barely hits 30 I would imagine. It doesn't matter if we play with these wide forwards, we still need them to hit the back of the net. I'm not looking at this with hindsight - I said throughout January that Markanday wouldn't be enough. We need someone who can sniff out a goal. We don't have that.
  7. BBD out for "days, weeks or months"...."certainly the next couple of games". So that's 2.5 he missed being away with Chile and now a minimum of two moving forward. One almighty stinker not bringing in a striker during January who could chip in with some goals. It'll be bloody tough enough to secure a play-off spot, let alone without your only source of goals for a period.
  8. Very vague from TM..."days, weeks or months"...I'm not joking either. The decision to not bring in another striker (NOT Markanday) pre-window ending is looking like one absolute balls up from the club. It was a very risky decision, and you could argue it's been backfiring for some time given we can't hit a barn door, even with BBD.
  9. QPR are absolutely terrible; their fans think the same too.
  10. Where I’m (trying to) remaining optimistic is this streaky culture that Mowbray seems to have cultivated within the club. We’ll be due our decent run soon(ish) and hopefully that’ll be enough to get us over the line. I don’t think it can come after the Fulham match in 4 games time - we need to get a win and build on it sooner than that. Saturday is the ideal time to do that. Lose or draw that and I fear we could be in for the long haul.
  11. Yep. They aren't coming for anyone to be honest, apart from Buckley! Mowbray talks as though we pepper the opposition goal and carve out fantastic chance after chance. It was only in the dying stages against 10 men Swansea that we've done that since the turn of the year.
  12. Given we have Sheff Utd and Fulham away coming up - Sandwiched between is QPR at home - this has to be seen as a must win. No: "a draw isn't bad", "we'll put the point in the bag and move on", "Millwall are a decent side". We need to return to scoring and winning ways before we're out of the play-off positions, which lets face it will be quite likely if we don't get a win this Saturday due to the next three fixtures. Win this and who knows where that momentum takes us for those three very tough matches.
  13. The ace in his pack is his niche left peg, which IMO is a huge reason as to why he'll end up in the PL.
  14. Wharton. Top defender but pretty useless so far at attacking from set pieces. We really need these CB’s to start chipping in with the odd goal given our midfielders and attackers couldn’t hit a barn door at present.
  15. Yep. Bit of an odd one to bring in, in hindsight given the way we play. His biggest asset is his crossing yet we don't have Kieffer Moore steaming in to get on the end of his deliveries. I imagine Pickering will be back in at the weekend and Giles will then make do with random spells at on the left of the front three.
  16. Get the sense that TM isn’t happy with Ayala: https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/19924332.blackburn-rovers-tony-mowbray-explains-daniel-ayala-decision/
  17. Bang on. I’ve absolutely no doubt on Saturday night if we draw against Millwall - at home no less - that the same folk will be on here saying ‘it’s a decent point’. We need to win some bloody football matches, starting with this must win at the weekend.
  18. TWO goals in 8 league games. Feck me. Broken record, yep, but we don’t need more firepower eh.
  19. That decision to not bring in a striker (NOT Markanday Gav!) looking better by the day.
  20. The obvious choice tonight when Ayala pulled out would be Carter in at RCB / Nyambe RWB. But hey ho.
  21. 6’4 striker constantly played out wide. Classic Mowbray.
  22. Lost 6-3 in the end and as a result we're out of the PL Cup. All we had to do to progress to the next around was avoid defeat by 3 goals or more and they scored in the last minute!
