  1. Premiership defenders bouncing off Dack. He looks a bit fitter. Could he be more Ronaldo than Rooney after all?
  2. I see Deidre is being forced out of retirement. Some how he's in England's Test Squad. Does that show how desperate England are for a spinner after the dry summer or what?
  3. There do seem to be similarities between Blackburn Rovers and Lancashire CCC in the fact that they both seem to be run by imbeciles that don't give a toss what happens on the pitch. If there is hope it lies in Pantshire. Though to be honest, from a business point of view it makes little difference whether Lancs are in the 1st or 2nd division. It certainly doesn't affect the concert and corporate side of things which has been Lancashire's priority for many years now.
  4. Regarding the U19 European Championships. England were outplayed and humiliated by France. FIVE-NIL! and so didn't make it out of the group. So surely if England win these competitions and suddenly 'the future is bright' it should also work the other way around? So the future is now bleak? Or as I've said before, do these youth tournaments hardly mean anything as statistically most of them fall by the wayside and end up average players in the lower divisions? Defending wise - they were simply appalling. It could definitely have been EIGHT or even TEN NIL.
  5. VAR ended up being absolutely terrible in the end. I mean, the greatest prize in the footballing World and the majority of people ended up talking about VAR - the dive/offside goal and dodgy penalty that ruined the final.
  6. England U-19 defence is appalling. Every game they just give goals away - the future doesn't look bright to me.
  7. Holy Crud that's some failure. 46-0 to 109 all out. ? And to add to the misery Livingstone has broken/fractured his thumb. So he obviously won't bat in this game - and just as importantly - Lancs may as well now say goodbye to the T20 competition. He's irreplaceable! Not only as the explosive opener, but also as a decent slow bowling option and his tactics/captaincy.
  8. In the end Yorkshire got a few too many runs for my liking. If Livingstone can't bat, and walking wicket Hameed back, we're already 2 down before starting.
  9. Well he seems like he's a fairly decent lower order batsman. ...and if they are backing him as a better spinner than Rashid or even Rafiq...
  10. Are there enough funds to finally sign Gary Lineker? Venkys Out!
  11. So what do people think about being able to sign a player just to play in one match? Poysden.
  12. Man that was some game. Whoever doesn't like T20 doesn't like sport. Phew! It was almost England v Colombia again. I haven't checked the dates, but it seems like that was the first time we've beaten Yorkshire in a short while. There was a cracker at Birmingham too, which I followed for the last 2 overs (after Lancs finished(. It just goes to show how crap the weather forecasts can be - the BBC weather had Durham, Birmingham, Notts and Lancs down as potential wash-outs (3 full games completed plus Lancs 14/14) where as down in Kent it was supposed to be dry all game (a no result as the 2nd innings was completely washed).
  13. Well that seemed a decent effort from the Lancs boys. They bigged up Butler, he failed, then the local boys took over. Nice to see. Let's see how the bowling goes. As Yorkshire have an amazing batting line-up.
  14. It was the first time in a major Championship since Euro 1988, when England were diabolical - even losing to an 'England B' side. ? As for the World Cup it might have been for the first time ever. So you could take the 2018 World Cup and use facts to spin it any way you wanted to: A great tournament or a complete disaster. One thing that's almost certain is that the WC draw will probably never open up like that again. . . . My slant on the whole thing is that it was a big chance blown.
  15. From what I have seen of Sessegnon, he almost seems wasted at left back/wing back. Obviously when half your main job is to defend it will end up curtailing your attacking play, as well as knackering you out more (especially in major tournaments where the games come thick and fast with the potential of extra time). And we all know, blablabla, England have always been short of a decent left-winger . . . always.
  16. How about if it rains in Manchester? ?
  17. Pre season friendlies are a load of bollocks and mean absolutely nothing. Surely nobody has forgotten last seasons 8-0 demolition of York City. Rovers were World beaters....then absolutely gash for the first month of the season. Club friendlies are even worse than international friendlies.
  18. FIFA 98: The road to the World Cup. Good times . . . England had on paper one of their best teams and Hoddle was eventually 'forced' into playing a teenager with lightning pace - someone that arguably never got any better.
  19. Can't seem to find the designated England thread (is there one?) so I'll continue to post here. How many of you actually know that the England are currently playing in the U-19 European Championship? It wasn't even mentioned on all the sports news I saw on various channels. It wasn't even listed on the latest scores on BBC - just a bunch of those crass CL preliminary qualifiers. England are basically trying to defend the title with a reserve team - as most clubs didn't want to release their England players from pre-season tours etc. Seriously, what do clubs get from players playing in these largely nonsense pre-season games over letting their youngsters play in a proper competitive finals tournament? Nothing to be gained from beating say Boreham Wood 8-0 or some rank amateurs 22-0 etc. etc. For those that don't know. England won their first game 3-2 against Turkey. If you see Turkey's 2nd goal you'll see that England have already found the new Kyle Walker, so the future looks good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icvj2pWz9_g Ukraine beat France 2-1 in the other game in England's group. Check out the Phil Jones like tackle at 01:33. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lv3RhfiKAlo
  20. Nice to see Lancs winning largely due to their Lancs born players (including Blackburn Rovers fan Davies). Unfortunately I won't be back for The Roses game . . . . It's always worth attending. They seem to put it in the fixture list when England players are made available too, to give Sky something extra to blab about. Should be a cracking 1pt each. ?
  21. If only we had Arab owners. Salah and the like would be coming home . . .
  22. It's coming home. It's coming home. It's coming, cricket's coming home. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/44861607 Next summers World Cup will be the big test. Win that and England can finally have a sports team to be truly proud of.
  23. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCkmIyC6v00
  24. I was going to mention that pretty much anyone can vote in these social media polls. One would think that those that are affected (anyone that attends 1 or more home games) should get the vote and not other 'wind up merchants' and others.
  25. Disharmony before a ball is kicked. Tut, tut. tut. You can only really get away with that kind of stuff if you're a decent player (fans soon see past anything if on pitch performances are good) but as Evans is decidedly average at best . . . well, if we had any replacement then surely he should be gotten rid of . . ..
