I know the playoffs are essentially cup games and anything can happen, but if we stumbled into them on our current form you can't help but think Boro with their 82 goals would absolutely smash us over two legs if we got them in the semis. Yes they've conceded 52, but we have no decent strikers so that probably wouldn't help much.

Absolutely correct. That's why I don’t get too bothered about not getting into the playoffs.

There appears to be an obsession amongst some posters about 'bulking up' young players. Like Buckley Wharton has terrific balance and can ride challenges so well because of this. He demonstrated against Blackpool that he can tackle too. Tackling is more about timing than steaming in like a bull in a China Shop.

Scott Sellars weighed 9st and he wasn't a bad player

Why do professional coaches pick players like Morton week in week out when literally everyone of us mere mortals who arent involved in the game in a professional capacity can see that Adam Wharton is an infinitely better option and how do players like Gallagher with zero talent manage to carve out an immensely lucrative career in the game without being sussed out in double quick time?

It's always been a mystery to me over the years, like we're watching a different game. Ditto Jason Lowe etc.

There must be something in Morton's loan agreement. There is no other explanation for him continuing to start. He's worse defensively than Wharton could possibly be and offers nothing at all going forward.

Easter has been our downfall on a few occasions.

Bowyer era, 95th minute SWFC equaliser at Hillsborough followed by drawing at home to fecking Yeovil on Good Friday (now on the verge of relegation to National League South, by the way.) pretty much torpedoed our play off chances.

Peterborough last Good Friday pretty much put the final nail in the coffin.

So, Norwich is definitely a must not lose.

Poor from the manager for the second week running for me - if you're starting Gallagher and leaving your most effective striker on the bench you're not really that interested in winning the game or making the play offs in my book.

Dumped out of the Cup last week after winning with 10 mins to go, beaten today, this has all the hallmarks of another spectacular collapse/bottle job at the business end to put alongside the one that happened over a longer period last season

Lose at home to Norwich and at a revitalised Hudds and the playoffs are gone. No hope of redemption in the last 3 matches. Looking like a repeat of last season's Easter surrender at Pboro and home to Stke.

BTW, how good would this team be if we had a proper CF ?

I reckon we'd be challenging top two, no problem.

Gallagher occasionally gets something right such as the weighted through ball for Sxmodics goal. But 95% of the time he looks like an impostor from a lower league. He is consistently too slow to reach balls across the six yard box and it cost us again today. Always back on his heels.
