Whatever happens here it is always the Venky model implemented by gravy train riders and half interested grifters so it will NEVER work.

Remember all the talk of various models by Mowbray and of course the Brentford model being the one to follow.  Also remember plenty of us saying we never never follow that model under this ownership because what we actually do is opposite to that.

It's all window dressing thrown out to cover for the absolute fact we have owners who don't give a toss but are willing to keep the club going because it suits (or at least did) their company accounting system. Now though they want that reducing greatly so they can leave the club in a corner of the portfolio soaking up a manageable amount of profit less than 20 mill per year.

So the model is and always a lower wage lower cost virtually zero transfer budgets where any player income is mostly to help cover costs.

That's it in black and white, no building a strong squad on the cheap to add bits , player trade and go for promotion, no it's just a case of low cot survival as long as we can string it out.

Ultimately it'll end up as a league 1 project.

The losses would be much less in L1 as all but the lowest paid players would leave. I suspect Venkys would be quite happy with that.

I think he looked for openings, but when you look at how physical Rotherham are, then on 2-1 we shouldn't put one of the smallest players in the league on the pitch - especially one that has proven to have little impact on games. Should try and flog him to a League 1 club in January if there are any takers. Didn't think I'd ever say this but we miss Hedges or Dolan on the right, and JRC even more as a roamer.

Ennis is about 5 10 so he certainly isn't one of the smallest players in the league.

If we can't beat Rotterdam at home, we really need to just pack this season in and start again in August.

          Wahlstedt

    Hill Hyam Carter Pickering

              Tronstad Wharton

        Brittain Szmodics Sigurdsson

                    Telalovic

If we can't beat Rotherham at home the next season will be in L1. Having Brittain as a wide forward never works.

  4. Report says Rotherham outplayed Sunderland and unlucky not to win. As in the Prem, the teams at the bottom of the Championship have improved performances and results in recent weeks. I suspect many on here think that 3 points against Rotherham is a gimme. Think again. I don't see this patched up, inexperienced and often shambolic back four/keeperkeeping a clean sheet against this very direct Rotherham attack.

5 more points and we would within striking distance of the playoffs.

We are 15th and 10 points clear of relegation. From the way some talk on here you would think we are in the relegation zone.

If QPR maintain their improvement under new manager they could be coming to Ewood in early February within a few points. Mostof the other teams currently below us are already within 3 points.

Only 15 points from safety.  Let’s take the positives 😬

Only 10 points above revitalised QPR (taking a point at Ipswich tonight) , 6 above Hudds who've just thrashed us, and only 3 points above Brum in 20th place. Fail to beat Rotherham (who are much improved recently) and we'll be well and truly in the relegation mix. Talk of playoffs is completely delusional. The defence is utter rubbish with Hyam looking like a L2 defender.

Just looking at the stats yesterday - we had 68% of the play and 1 shot on goal. They had 32% of the play and 6 shots on goal.

    Says it all for me.

They let us have the ball playing in front of them. Then when possession id lost, break quickly and leave the cart horses (Brittain, Carter and Pickering) trailing behind. It's simple but effective and Tomasson is evidently too stubborn or dim to do anything about it. Keep doing the same thing and expect a different result....

Shocking game, worst I performance of the season from what I've seen. Huge error by Wahlstedt on their first goal but Brittain should have closed down sooner.

A big moment in the game was when Telalovic passed to Szmodics who was offside instead of taking the chance himself. If he wanted to grab the chance he was given then that was the moment to pounce. 0-3 happened soon after. A big worry that we're conceding so many goals, Huddersfield created a lot of clear-cut chances as has been the case in many games prior. Think we're too open and need to balance the way we play in various phases of the game.

Hull is a massive game coming up or we'll be eight points behind the play-offs with poor goal difference.

More relevantly we probably need another 6 wins to be sure of staying up. Hoping the playoffs with this squad is delusional.

4-3-1-2, playing with 2 strikers might add up to a goal threat.

Hill or Carter, Hyam, Wharton Pickering

    Travis, Tronstad, Wharton

    Sammi

    Ennis, Siggy.

And get the ball in their half a bit quicker.

Siggy contributes nothing except an occasional goal and is as soft as shit (ditto Brittain). Moran is worse than both. Ennis couldn't trap a bag of cement and continually loses possession. Pickering is so slow and clearly targeted for that reason. There is no discipline as yellow cards are incurred for utterly pointless infringements with "shit for brains" Brittain a repeat offender. And as for Walstedt..... Apart from that it's not too bad.
