I usually agree with most of what you say but Walton is abysmal imo, he's turning into the new Jason Steele, the opposition only have to take a pot shot from 25 yards and in it goes.

Also I will be very surprised if this doesn't turn into another desperately disappointing season just like the last one, one point from four games..... we'll be hard pressed to match last year's tally of 60 points.

Walto struggles with low shots - either doesnt get down quickly enough or fails to hold them as today. Derby's shoot on sight policy suggests they knew he'd spill one sooner or later. Walton looks good dealing with top corner efforts but that's not enough at this level.

  2. Might as well play all the remaining fixtures behind closed doors. Better for everyones mental health not to watch that disorganised spineless shambles. The midfield was totally dependent on Travis who was neutered by his booking. Downing simply has not got the legs to play in that position against an energetic youthful opposition. Rothwell needs to be binned this summer as he offers nothing but headless chicken dribbling ending with loss of possession in dangerous areas. Bennett is a League 1 player. Brereton needs to find an alternative career.

The team needs money spending on it but we cant spend any due to FFP.

Apparently the owners want to spend money but cant.

Our budget in Jan was £1.3 million which is nothing.

The stadium needs bringing into the 21st century and that isn't part of FFP.

So unless they want to spend is bollocks then let them crack on with proving it.

Funny Brentford can build a spanking new stadia at London prices but we can't afford to rebuild the Riverside ?

Brentford have collected £120m in țransfer fees in the past 6 years and the stadium cost £80m

John Byrom wasn't the same player when he came back to Rovers. He'd been away for the best part of 10 years. Letting him go to Bolton in the first place was an idiotic decision. We spent loads on the likes of Jim  Fryatt, Frank Lord, Don Martin, Bryan Conlon, Barry Endean, John O'Mara, Mike Hickman, Ken Beamish,  Gordon Hindson, trying to replace him and only the Don came near in terms of ability. All the while Byrom was banging them in over at Bolton.

You can Alan Gulliver to that sorry list of misfiring strikers. He cost £30k similar to the fee received for Byron but £18k was refunded when it was found Huddersfield had concealed a serious back injury.

I think this could be the end for him to be honest if he has a fractured skull only have to look at Joe Mason recently to see its not something that is easily recovered from.. I think he is a lot better than a lot give him credit for and will be a miss

Depends whether another blow to the face could endanger his eyesight

He's out of contract the end of next season so he will probably put in a handful of good performances at the end of this season and the beginning of next. Because let's be honest he is now incredibly in his seventh season at the club and he has only ever put a run of good performances together when he needs a new contract.

    Evans has contract to 2022.

They’ll have to sell Lenihan in the summer. As mentioned above it’ll only be 2021 when the current FFP cycle affects us. So we have this season and next season to either get promoted or to sell off enough assets (players or otherwise) before we’re in breach of rules.

“Under the EFL’s guidelines a points deduction of 12 points is imposed for breaching the spending rules: which is to reduced by reference to the amount of overspending above the upper loss threshold – i.e. £13million.

The lower the amount overspent, the larger the points deduction.

So, breaches of less than £2 million would see a reduction of 9 points; and breaches of £15 million or more would see no reduction.”

So effectively within a few seasons, unless we work some magic, Lenihan, Travis, Arma or someone else becomes a £15m footballer, or we get promoted, we could be looking at a points deduction.

This appears to be a misquote. It makes no sense that "the lower the amount overspend the larger the points deduction ".

We had enough chances to have won comfortably today but were so wasteful in front of goal. Brereton and Gallagher are poor at pretty much everything but I'm reluctant to have a go at them. It's not their fault we paid money massively disproportionate to their abilities or pay them handsomely on fantastic contracts. The fault lies with Mowbray, Waggott and whoever else allowed Rovers to be duped into buying them. On that alone they should be sacked.

There were a lot of other inadequacies today for which Mowbray has to carry the can and a lot of these traits we have shown time and time again but nothing seems to happen. He is the public face of Rovers but I don't believe he accepts enough responsibility for results. There's always a reason or two which doesn't involve him. I think we'll finish in the bottom six but the real worry for me would be next season.

He should do the honourable thing and go. There's no shame in saying he's taken us as far as he can and getting out with some pride intact.

He wont leave unless his contract to 2022 is paid up as he knows he'll never get another well-paid job. Hartlepool or York City for him next.

Two unknown teams from the championship have submitted loanoffer for West Ham’s Nathan Holland. Apparently he’s a star in the u23s and plays left wing. Wonder if rovers have looked?

Mowbray doesnt like wingers even though its the only way to get any goals from our "G" force. Instead he plays intricate tippy tappy players like Rothwell who runs like a headless chicken and loses the ball to set up an opposition counterattack.

Worth nothing he made both goals for us today, but he needs to stop losing possession

Running into blind alleys and giving away possession is the sum total of Rothwell's game. Very occasionally it comes off but that doesnt make up for the 100 occasions that it gives away possession and sets up a counterattack. Rothwell has had more than enough oportunities but it's baked into his game that he can't change. He should be released at the end of season.
