  1. Went to see The Rutles in Glasgow on Saturday night. I’m sure they aren’t everyone’s cup of tea but I thought they put on a brilliant show. Neil Innes is a very clever and funny man.
  2. Yes I was going to make exactly the same point about Downing. Charlie’s set pieces and a 6’5” brute could be a lethal combination.
  3. Lloyd Cole and the Commotions - Lost Weekend
  4. The Vapors - Waiting For the Weekend
  5. I'm speechless. When did you actually last see him play? He genuinely looked like a pub league player.
  6. To play in that super-fast Scottish league you were bigging up the other day? You have got to be kidding, Caddis is a cart horse!
  7. Prefab Sprout - Goodbye Lucille No 1 (Johnny Johnny) Taken from the album Steve McQueen. A masterpiece!
  8. Max Bygraves - Careless Hands. A song the Kop spontaneously began singing when the Leeds goalkeeper Gary Sprake threw one into his own net at Anfield many years ago!
  9. Ocean Colour Scene - Up on the Down Side
  10. The Questions - The House that Jack Built
  11. I could have posted any of the first 4 singles by The Jam at this point, but I think I’ve already done them all so: Blur - New World Towers
  12. Big Sound Authority - My Hell Shaped Room
  13. Same here Wolfie. Love the fact that his dad was the first black player to play for Celtic as well. Home is Where the Hatred Is is probably my favourite of his. back to the game.... .....The Electric Light Orchestra - Here is the News
  14. I did wonder whether anyone would notice/question it heh heh. Anyway an open goal for me here - The Jam - All Around the World (this clip was the first time I ever saw them and it was life-changing! And Marc Bolan was killed less than a fortnight later!)
  15. PP Arnold - Angel of the Morning
  16. Many thanks to Parson and Stuart and others for providing updates from the youth games for those of us unable to get to them this season - and well done to Damien, David and the lads on a terrific achievement! Now let’s make it a double tonight!
  17. The Sex Pistols - Pretty Vacant
  18. Leaving aside the farce surrounding bringing the players back out, how on earth was that a deliberate handball anyway (which it has to be under the laws of the game)? The defender had no chance of getting out of the way of the cross. The second goal in that game was comical as well. Boy had a complete open goal and all the time in the world to stroke the ball into the net but somehow managed to hit the post, and only the sharp spin on the ball took it over the line. The look of relief on the striker's face was hilarious.
  19. The Jam - Little Boy Soldiers
  20. This is not in any way meant to defend our current owners but we signed a fair number of carthorses way before Venkys pitched up - Kenny D and others signed plenty that ended up rarely or never featuring in the first team. Ten games seems a fair and reasonable number to make an assessment of a player though BDS, I agree with you on that.
  21. By being a striker who was absolutely rubbish in every respect and even left us in negative equity by only ever 'scoring' an own goal as opposed to one who simply didn't score but did have other attributes. Or is that too much for you to compute?
  22. Spot on. I’ve mentioned Paul in this context before - a big honest lad but woeful in a Rovers shirt.
  23. Bruce Foxton - Number Six
