You could rid any manager of any blame with that logic though. Kean and Coyle werent playing either.
To be fair Coyle was probably a better player than half of his squad.

Steven Schumacher at Stoke could be another after having managed Plymouth for half a season. Do you mean Bassett at Sheffield United Andy?
Yeah I got my Sheff clubs mixed up Tony, which is odd because I usually thinks it’s Wednesday on a Tuesday 😉

Well I don't look silly and tbh, shameful to say I haven't watched a game since the Birmingham draw.
You should have watched to the end mate, we lost that one as well 😂😂

Would Eustace be the first person to manage two clubs that are relegated in the same season?
No. I'm pretty sure Dave Bassett did it in the 80s or 90s with Watford and Sheff Wed, and I have a lingering memory of Billy McNeill either doing it or being close to doing it in the same sort of era with City and Villa.

The absolute shambles at the dingledome lost him a lot of support. That and the way it was shrugged off as just another game. I know I never had the same confidence in him after that.
I've said it before - Jack Walker would have sacked him on the spot for grinning like a Cheshire cat after that one (let alone leaving both Whartons out of the team!)

All this arguing about whether JDT would have taken us down and how Eustace is faring in comparison really is like a tallest dwarf competition.

Yeah but they all turned up to the last one because they are the earths greatest fans.
One gate made the seasons averages above 3k 🤣
There were scores of Rovers fans at that last one (including me and about 8 mates) wanting to witness the fuckers losing their league status.

This may be controversial but judging from his description, he wasn't an addict, he just liked coke. He doesn't seem to know the difference between something that is habitual and something that is actually an addiction, and believe me there is a whole world of difference.
The man is an utter prick and he was a fraud of a footballer when he wore our famous shirt. Also, I bet his missus was cocked more times than John Wayne's rifle before she bagged herself a rich footballer.

I actually found Cheston the easiest of the Rovers hierarchy to deal with to be fair. He certainly had some helpful advice for the Trust at times. And on the occasions when in meetings with him and SW he certainly wasn’t afraid to challenge Waggott.
Probably a case of ‘tallest dwarf’ right enough 😬

I’m really worried about Wednesday, under the new manager they just seem to refuse to accept relegation and keep finding a way to survive. Tonight is must not lose but with Leeds on Saturday a nailed on defeat, we need a win.
I don’t think any game in this division can or should be written off as a ‘nailed on defeat’.
It’s a tough game, for sure, but a team we have just dicked on their own ground held Leeds to a draw at Elland Road last night and Coventry beat them at the weekend. They are jittery.

If it means they beat Huddersfield along the way, I'd probably take that, it's the best of the 2 options.

Nightmare is we go to Leicester in last game of season needing something - if that happens, I could see us sliding into the bottom 3 as the final whistle is blown.
Excellent. We are 100% staying up now. Thanks Merce 👏🏻👏🏻😉

This is where an independent regulator (when established) would be able to step in and force a sale surely?
