Would Eustace be the first person to manage two clubs that are relegated in the same season?

No. I'm pretty sure Dave Bassett did it in the 80s or 90s with Watford and Sheff Wed, and I have a lingering memory of Billy McNeill either doing it or being close to doing it in the same sort of era with City and Villa.

The absolute shambles at the dingledome lost him a lot of support. That and the way it was shrugged off as just another game. I know I never had the same confidence in him after that.

I've said it before - Jack Walker would have sacked him on the spot for grinning like a Cheshire cat after that one (let alone leaving both Whartons out of the team!)

Yeah but they all turned up to the last one because they are the earths greatest fans.

One gate made the seasons averages above 3k 🤣

There were scores of Rovers fans at that last one (including me and about 8 mates) wanting to witness the fuckers losing their league status.

  4. I actually found Cheston the easiest of the Rovers hierarchy to deal with to be fair. He certainly had some helpful advice for the Trust at times. And on the occasions when in meetings with him and SW he certainly wasn’t afraid to challenge Waggott.

Probably a case of ‘tallest dwarf’ right enough 😬

I’m really worried about Wednesday, under the new manager they just seem to refuse to accept relegation and keep finding a way to survive. Tonight is must not lose but with Leeds on Saturday a nailed on defeat, we need a win.

I don’t think any game in this division can or should be written off as a ‘nailed on defeat’.

It’s a tough game, for sure, but a team we have just dicked on their own ground held Leeds to a draw at Elland Road last night and Coventry beat them at the weekend. They are jittery.
